"So, this is where he was cornered. One man behind him, two men in front. One handcuff goes on, he lashes out. Then, boom. The guy who was cuffing him is gone, leaving only half of the cuffs behind. Lots of blood..."
"I think the man handcuffing him was an accomplice. But, it's possible his power activated as a knee-jerk reaction to get him out of danger."
"If true, we have a soldier somewhere, possibly dead. We'll have to find out what exactly happened."
"Go ahead, ma'am."
The woman smiled slightly, and bent down. Her right hand glowed dark grey as she reached out towards the bloodstain.
She watched as a ghostly figure staggered back, smashed into some computers, and set off a small explosion. Another ghost dropped half a pair of handcuffs, then vanished into some kind of portal.
"He's still alive. Not the guard. He's dead. The other one. Adam."
The two figures stared approximately where the portal had been.
"We need to find a way to get through."
