From the ditch a roar of either joy or anger was heard, with these creatures it was hard to tell.

The zealot spinned around and stabbed at Jona, trusting his shields to take the incoming blow.

The two Jackals squacked and opened fire, sending small blobs of plasma against Stripe. The elite rolled to the side, then shot a trio of blue plasma bolts before getting hit in the chest by a shell that sent him flying into the left ditch.

Ness nods toward Blair and smiles as the cat hops onto her shoulder. "Great! I'll be looking forward to it. One last thing..." The fedora girl gives Blair a bit of a ":3" smile. "..C-can I try on your hat?" She consciously bops her head to Noel and Kyosuke's singing.

Rex scratches the back of his head for a moment as he followed Jessica in. "I swear I had a credit card for the place somewhere... And it's no problem, Doc. I don't know what this is all about... but I'm happy to help a friend of Ness." He starts digging through his pockets desperately as he waits along side of Jess to be seated.

Blair chuckle warmly and give a smile to Ness. "Oh course you can!" Blair said to Ness, as she took her hat off and half placed it on Ness's head with her paws. "You look Stylish!" She added as she sat back on Ness's shoulder.

 

[Chungus]

"Don't you hurry with that..." the supervisor remarked as Rita walked off.

Rita would find Loki talking to a miner, not far away from the quarry office.

"And that is the first recorded case in the string of incidents?"

"As far as I know, yeah."

"I see. Well, I have nothing further for the time being. Thank you for your time thus far."
As the miner walked off, Loki turned around to see Rita. "Did you manage to learn anything of vallue?" he asked as he approached her.

Spoiler: The song continues as Blair and Ness would feel relaxed and at ease. Kyosuke started playig on his guitar, with a smile. Though it seemed to be a pained smile. Charlotte tapped along with her foot.

"I ascertained the time where the miners started showing symptons of he poisoning first. The instance in question being three weeks ago. That is all I could uncover."

Stripe bellowed in pain as the small plasma bolts seared his flanks. He surged forward directly onto the two jackals.

"Whoa!" Cynane shouted,falling backwards in the cart. Lying with her head out undr the back rail, she opened fire again, shooting at the Elite that had been attacking the Rookie.

Jona ducked even as his blade bounced off of the shields and rolled under the Zealot's attack, once again demonstrating his remarkable prescience, and hacked at the Zealot's ankle before coming up again, just out of reach. Whirling around, he thrust out a hand and launched the Zealot back down the road.

 

[DotSlash]

Ness adjusts the witch hat so it's balanced on her head. "Thanks, Blair! I think I might keep this..."

She giggles as she passes her fedora toward Blair with a warm smile. Ness sits down, listening to Noel and Kyosuke, closing her eyes and humming along. Blair might notice a small green hair clip glowing just above Ness' ear.

 

[Kirke]

OoC: @Random The Rookie, and the elite attacking him, are both out of sight. Deep, muddy, ditch. Also, let's try and finish up then, eh?

OOC: Oh, right. Didn't notice that. Eh, ts grand. I thought for a moment there that I'd recieved an invitation I couldn't turn down, but no. Turned out to be something else.

Blair tries on Ness's fedora and smiles. "Hmm, I think this can suit me..." She commented as she re-fix the hat in several positions, trying to find the best for her. "I'm sorry, but that hat is kinda special, So I need to keep it!" Blair added with a chuckle, Noticing the glowing green hair clip, her cat senses took over and she started to paw at it. "Meow....what was is this?" She asked Ness. as her tail swayed to the music/singing.

The two Jackals disappeared with a squish as Stripe charged over them.

The Zealot was swinging about when he was sent flying down the road. Coupled with the hits from the bonesword, this was enough to break his shields. He quickly got back up and lobbed a glowing teal grenade against Jona.

No more sound was heard from the ditch, at least not over the sounds of fighting coming from Jona and the Zealot.

As Jessica continued to wait in the diner to be noticed by a member of the waitstaff, she pulled the visor frame from out of her coat. She began to idly fiddle with the buttons, seeming as though she were cycling through its numerous functions to get to the one that she felt she would be needing to use shortly.

 

[Chungus]

OoC @Drak: Right. I was waiting For Jess and Rex to pick a table first, 'cause that's how the diners I know operate.

"Oh. Hello again. Can I help you?" Felina asked, addressing Jessica with the first part, and her and Rex both with the latter.

 

[Random berk]

Jona almost laughed as he saw the easily visible glowing grenade. When the Zealot threw it he allowed it to fly just less than half its trajectory, then reached out a hand and brought it to a halt in mid air. Spreading his fingers he made it float swiftly back to the Zealot.

Cynane gasped as the cart jolted over the bodies of the two jackals, and dragged herself up the side before grabbing onto Stripe's swinging tail and pulling herself up along his back.

"Enough! Calm down, calm down!" She shouted, uncorking a bottle of soothing painkiller and splashing it directly onto his steaming wounds. She glanced fearfully at the ditch where the Rookie and the Elite had disappeared for a moment before returning to trying to calm the Aptonoth enough to slow him down.

 

[DotSlash]

Ness looks over toward Blair and notices her tapping the clip. "Oh... that? How should I put this...? ...It lets me see things to help me defend myself. Weakpoints and all that." Blair would notice Ness' eyes change from light blue to green as the clip started to glow brighter. She looked toward Noel and Kyosuke... If they had any, Ness would be able to see weakpoints in their armor.

She gives a little applause as their song ends. "That was great!"

Rex looks over at Felina and nods slightly, finally finding the credit card he'd shoved into his hoodie. "We just need a table, miss." He gave a curious look toward Jessica's visor.
