"Oh, so you did get enrolled here. I thought that might have been the case. Congratulations on that!" Jessica said to Sasha, ending her sentence with a smile. I wish I could afford to spend a little more time around here. She thought as her smile faded. "Well, it took me about nine years to get my doctorate degree. I've no idea how long schooling takes in this world though." Looking at Sasha with a rather serious face, she said, "Make sure you take your studies here very seriously. Magic isn't something you want to be careless with."

Rex stares at Blair's human form blankly, a little stunned. "...Woah. None of the catgirls I know can do that. ...That's pretty awesome."

Ness walks up to the soldier, a little concerned. "Excuse me, sir. What happened here that caused the screaming?"

Blair giggled a little. "Why thank you Rex!" She said happily with a small wink, her tail flickered behind her. "So what's a man like you doing in a place like this?"

Persephone was busy occupying herself with various tasks of a magical bent when the small girl came up to her. She turned and looked down at her with a rather neutral expression. "...Perhaps. I should go there my self and make sure things are absolutely safe before hand." she said after some consideration. "Now, you be a good girl while I'm gone. No drawing on the furniture or the floor or the walls. No bringing the outside plants inside the house. And no going in my potion cabinet. Understood?" she said in a stern tone.

Echo and Tao become aware of the general sense of panic in the town and go into the hotel.

The small girl nodded and hugged Persephone a little. "Ok Momma, I'll behave....I promissse" The girl said to her with a understanding nod, then sat up straight and hugged her doll.

 

[Chungus]

"Okay. What might your names be?" The receptionist asked.

"I too wish an audiance with Lucia. My name is Loki."

Not long after Rita and Loki left, the phone at the reception at the labs rang. When the receptionist picked up, he brought up a holographic display of some files, looking at that.

As Tophat spoke to the miner's mind, he yelped, startled by it. Hearing what Tophat had to say, the miner thought for a moment. On one had, he wasn't overly fond of the fact someone carried a "magical artifact" around, but at the same time, he couldn't in good conscious turn Rookie away. "Alright, to the baracks it is. follow me." he said, running towards the military outpost in Granit Pass.

"There was a attack at the clinic. Some sorta beastkin. No one knows what exactly, as he wore armour that made it next to imposible to tell. He appearantly followed a heavily wounded patient, and send the nurse and doctor to the hospital when the patient was tended to." The soldier answered Ness.

Rex blinks for a few moments before answering. ...Is she trying to hit on me? "Oh... I'm just here to travel around and stuff. My boss is doing the same sort of thing, so I'm sticking around with her." He smirks at Blair as he tilts his head slightly. "How about you, catgirl?"

Ness puts her hand to her chin. An armored beastkin? This town's full of beastkin, I don't see why one would rage so suddenly... It probably wasn't a beastkin from here at least. "I see. Did anyone see which direction that the attacker ran off to?"

 

[Zepherus14]

Sophia looked a little saddened by the mention of being careless. "I know... That's why I accepted Headmistress Anna's offer. I've tried to be very careful..."

 

[Furioso]

"I'm Mordio."

If there was a closed door blocking off the rest of the lab, the rat stayed in the shadows near it, watching the receptionist. If there was no such door, or an ajar one, the rat entered further into the facility

 

[Kirke]

The Rookie ran after the miner.
(To the miner: Thank you. But get your friends out of it's way, or it might attack them.)

"Your boss? who's that? anyone I might know?" Blair asked Rex, as her ears twitched a bit.

Jessica cleared her throat and looked away from Sasha. "Sorry. It's just really important to be careful with things like these." She said, rubbing her right arm through the sleeve. In trying to change the subject and lighten the mood a bit, she asked, "So, what have you been studying so far?"

Rex scratches the back of his head slightly. "Her name's Ness. She has a white fedora and like... never takes it off. ...Ever."

Persephone looked down at the girl for a moment before smiling warmly and patting her head. "You know you don't have to call me 'momma', dear." she said.

Sasha tilted her head ever so slightly when Jessica seemed to act a little strangely, then had a slight glance to the things on the bed. "Why don't I show you? We can talk on the way?" She offered walking to her door as she opened it for Jessica.

@Drak: Hopefully you touch on that part a little more later on, or if you have already discussed that part of Jessica's past I'd like to read it.

"But I like calling you my Momma...it feels...right..." The girl replied to Persephone with a small smile.

"Oh! I didn't realize Miss Ness had co-workers..." Blair said to Rex, then smiled a little. "and she did take off yesterday, she wanted to try my hat on for a while" Blair added with a small chuckle.

 

[Chungus]

"Hmm. Let's see... Mordio and Loki." As the receptionist ran the names through the data banks, she found that both Rita and Loki were on Legaia's watchlist. "What did you say you wanted to see Professor Lucia for?" she asked with a slight frown.

To the right of the receptionist's desk was a corridor leading further into the lab. There was, indeed a door made of reinforced glass seperating the corridor from the rest of the lab, however. To the right of the door, there was a card reader.

"Alright... The baracks are over there. You can't miss it." the miner said as he stopped running and pointed towards the barracks. The soldiers outside being alerted by the comotion.

"Yo, listen. Everyone to the barracks." the miner said to the other miners who were outside and not working."

"The hell? Why?" Another miner asked.

"Unless you want to end up looking like that guy over there..." the miner said, pointing over his shoulder towards the running Rookie. "You better listen. Whoever did that to him is on his way here, and I dunno about you, but I don't wanna take any chances here." he continued, then ran towards the barracks again, the other miners hesitantly following.

The soldier shook his head. "No one saw. He had some cloaking tech, which he activated the moment he left the clinic. We're still trying to find out where that patient ran off to, but so far no luck."

Persephone gave a soft laugh as the girl said what she said. She continued to rub her head gently for a bit before moving away from her and through a cloud of dark purple smoke.

Rex looks stunned at what Blair had said. "She actually took it off...!? Oh crap, hell might've frozen over. [small] I might have to check... [/small]" He shrugs a bit smiling. "Yeah... she's pretty awesome to work under. Always gives you something to do and it's almost... always fun."

Ness sighed a bit as she heard the soldier. "...Damnit." What could that have been...? She looks over at the patients to see if any need some immediate help.
