Ness' eyes widened a bit as she turned to Marston. "Eh...? How could Tao have sent me a message from prison...? First off, who are you...? And... what did she say?"

She shrugs toward Lyra. "I meant that people aren't accepting of same-sex relationships, although there really isn't anything wrong with them. I'm not sure what you mean by 'ritual'."

She also shrugged toward Trilby. "I'm not the one to be following if you're looking for something interesting..."

Nybeth stood up and turned to face Athena as she spoke to him. How convenient. "A dagger would be best suited to my overall needs." He answered. Hearing Yukino, he glanced at her and replied, "I was hoping to march on Holadino, but as I've said, the command holds no faith in my plan succeeding. They neglected to gather enough men, and instead sent me on the errand of convincing those pig-headed Legaians to turn traitor if I wished to move forward. Needless to say, I was unsuccessful."

Jessica looked up and over at Marston as she heard him mention Taokaka. She started focusing on him to hear what he had to say. "I guess it's pretty nice that things turned out like that in the end." She commented to Marcus before focusing back on Marston.

"I've had enough interesting experiences to fill a few lifetimes. Literally." he said in an off-hand manner.

Marston calmly pulls up a chair and sits near Ness. "Excuse me, John Marston. Anyway, she just told me to tell you that she was heading south and out of the 'magic lands' as she put it. And that she probably wouldn't be coming back up this way again. I guess that makes more sense considering the prison bit...[sub]which she neglected to mention to me.[/sub]" Marston said, grumbling the last part out. "She also had somethings to say to a woman named...Scaredy Kaka. Do you know anyone by that name?" he added.

Ness sits down for a moment before adjusting her fedora a bit. "...How the hell did she...? As for a 'Scaredy Kaka'..." Ness looked back toward Jessica and waited.

She nodded toward Trilby, a bit indifferent. "That would explain that arm of yours."

"Very well. I shall get you a dagger. You will also be paid 300 Gold tomorrow, for services rendered." Athena said as she started to walk away.

"Also, we were considering leading an assault on Holadino, but with your suggestion, we could lead one on both Holadino and Granite Pass simultaneously. This was never intended to be a force that would lead several assaults at once. And the main force is still on the frontlines up North and more are stationed in Shaintaio should they require a defense from any forces that push through. Neither Tiberius or I suggested you convince those soldiers to assist in the battle. As far as we were concerned it was a plan that we wouldn't endorse. Besides, we only have about 200 troops to move freely. We'd likely need that to take Granite Pass, if that was to be a goal."

"But here's a question. Why do you fight? For profit? For fun? Revenge? Those are shallow reasons. You should know people don't fight for them. Not really."

"Ness, the idea of a lesbian relationship never crossed Jess's mind before I brought it up with her. She may have never considered that due to where she grew up. Mind you, it took me a relationship or two to figure out I wasn't bi. Actually, what were we talking about?" Lyra asked, rubbing her eyes.

Trilby looked at his arm and chuckled.
"Actually, that story isn't too interesting. I was trying to convince a companion of mine to chop my hand off, because I cut off his leg, and he refused. Then this other guy decided to do it for me, only he took off the whole arm." he explained.

Tao began wandering around Holedino and asking the people there if she could sleep in their place or have some of their food, or both. She didn't offer anything in return, and simply asked.

With the skeleton disposed of, Envy headed back into the temple to rest

Ness scratched her head for a moment toward Lyra's comment. Given she's the (great * 14) granddaughter of that woman I read about, I don't think lesbianism is something unusual where she's from... "...I wasn't trying to say anything about Jessica's decision, since she's was fine with it. All I'm saying I don't see why people aren't more accepting of a relationship like this. [small] This is my first real relationship though... [/small]" She mumbled the last bit to herself before turning to Trilby.

"I'm sorry to hear that your colleague was so over-zealous with your arm." Ness replied to him before sitting down.

After hearing Athena's reply, Nybeth said to Yukino. "Do not bother. Apparently, as I am just now learning, Holadino is not a target these ones desire to take. At least not enough that they would give me a small number of men to do so myself."
Turning back to Athena, he answered, "Do not think to lecture me. I have my reasons. Why are you under the illusion that my intentions are any of your business? But ask your General something for me, am I allowed to move on Holadino on my own?"

Jessica rolled her eyes at Marston's use of the nickname Tao had generated for her. "She was probably talking about me." She said, completely unamused. Blushing slightly at what Lyra said, she said to her, "That's not true at all! [small]I just didn't think anyone could ever actually like me like that.[/small]"

"I hate to pry, but...That woman i met was a criminal?" Marston asked Ness after some time to think.

"I don't think so. Get out of here." the person Tao spoke to answered, turning his back on Tao and walking off. Several other people she had spoken to earlier also declined her request.

"It's understandable, given where we were. Being over-zealous is normal there." he said casually.
"Doesn't mean the arm never hurts like a bastard, though..." he muttered, sounding slightly annoyed.

"See, I agree with you! S'why the nomad ships allow singular gender relationships. Glad to see we agree with each other." she checks on Marcus, to find he had drained 3 beers and was sleeping on the table. Sighing, Lyra picked him up in a firemans carry and left, snagging the last bottle and drinking it, waving as she left. She went back to camp, where Xyleena had been in the process of earing a deer.
