Ness looked over at Marston and nodded after a few moments passed. "She recklessly endangered a number of people by flying a ship she wasn't qualified for. Regardless of the situation leading up to it......, she still was the one who killed someone in the crash. So yes, she is... by definition... a criminal."

She nodded toward Trilby. "I can relate to having... over-zealous colleagues. It's a wonder I'm still alive with them doing what they do."

She let out a yawn as she waved to everyone and gave Jess a hug. "I'll see you guys tomorrow. I'm going off to bed."

Yukino just sighed at Athena before walking off. Before she did, she tossed a small cylinder-like object toward Nybeth. [color=bb66bb] "Press the button on top of that device once we get to moving the main forces then. I've got a reason to fight as well, but unlike our Lady here, I'm not gonna sit around. Later." "Hmm. That's a mighty big shame." Marston said as Ness told her tale.

"You're kidding, right?" A woman Tao spoke, this a rat beastkin, to said incredulously. "You can't go around asking people for stuff like that. If you want food or shelter, pay for it like everyone else."

Tao kept trying, despite her constant disappointments.

Jessica hugged Ness back and waved to her as she left the bar, though it was rather half-hearted as she was distracted by what Marston had just told her. "That wasn't a mistake." She replied to Marston. Noticing that everyone she had came with had left, she promptly exited the bar. She lingered outside to take in the night air and stretch a bit.

I'll never get enough specimens at this rate....I wonder how many people are in Granite Pass? Nybeth absentmindedly caught the object Yukino threw at him and stuffed it into his robes, making note of what she said, but making no reply of his own.

@Dirty: Currently, standing outside some random bar and milling about a captured military base, respectively.

All the people Tao spoke to replied in the negative and with various degrees of curtness.

"Well, I'm not aware of the whole story, so I'll take your word for it. Although, Tao seemed really keen on seeing you and Miss Vanessa again. Maybe you should hash this whole mistake business out. You have a good night now." Marston said as he walked away.

Tao sighed, very diheartened and found an out-of-the-way place to sleep.

OoC @Outis: You mean common sense. If some random person walked up to you and asked for free food and a place to stay, would you let this person in your house and give them food? I sure as hell wouldn't.

Jessica sighed as Hellosh approached her and started asking about the subject she least wanted to talk about at that particular moment. "Well that person ended up getting arrested, but I just learned that they somehow broke out and are already across the border now....And no, you most certainly weren't right about that." She replied, bits of annoyance creeping into her voice as she went on. "Now all I can really do is hope this doesn't come back and bite Vanessa."

 

[Drakmorg]

Jessica sighed at Hellosh, still sounding annoyed. "You want a description? Fine. Just don't affiliate yourself with me if you end up going all 'vigilante justice'." Crossing her arms, she said, "Yeah, I'm in a bad mood. And I am not going to trust you over Vanessa. I'm almost certain she had nothing to do with breaking that person out. Just yesterday I made her promise she wouldn't, and she seemed just as surprised as I was to learn that they had broken out."

 

[Drakmorg]

"Alright, fine. First off it's a girl. She wears this creepy coat that hides her face that she never seems to take off, with these massively over-sized sleeves that cover up her hands...and apparently that's all she wears. I've only seen her without it once, but if I'm being honest, I don't think she's smart enough to take it off to try and hide herself better....But just to be safe..." Jessica then gave Hellosh a description of what Taokaka looked like without her coat. "And I wasn't planning on doing anything aside from just sleeping this bad mood off. And yeah, she wanted to break Taokaka, that's the girl's name by the way, out of prison. But like I said, I talked her out of it." Turning away from Hellosh, she looked down at the ground slightly and said, "That's just...you can't go around not trusting anyone because they've got things they want to do." I'll just ask Vanessa myself. After all, she's got no real reason to lie to me about it...right?

"Yeah don't mention it." Jessica said off-hand in response to Hellosh's gratitude. While still not looking at Hellosh, she brought her head back up and said, "I'm not just going to write Vanessa off as someone to not trust because you went through something unpleasant. I'm going to see if I can trust her myself. I owe her that much." She sighed and glanced around for a moment before saying, "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get some sleep. If I don't at least get ten hours worth I'll just be absolutely useless tomorrow." Uncrossing her arms, she headed back to the Inn, quietly entered Ness' room, laid down on the couch, then fell asleep after curling herself up. I don't want her to be lying to me...so she at least deserves a fair chance...

Addressed by Hellosh, the soldier looked at him suspiciously. "Really... The public hasn't been informed on this, so how do you know about the escape?"

 

[Chungus]

"I see... If we were to bring this Vanessa in for question, would you be able to identify her?" the soldier asked Hellosh after a moments thought.

 

[Kirke]

The Rookie woke up and grabbed his datapad. He started to go through the latest data on the invasion of Earth, trying to judge how long they would be able to hold out.

 

[Chungus]

"Well then, I'll go report this. We'll contact you after we've apprehended this person. What's your address?" the soldier asked Hellosh.

 

[Wackymon]

Data begins to walk around the city of Lakeside.[hr]
Vagabond sits in an ally near the goverment building.
"Alright, so... She's high up, and I need some sort of... appointment... Hm..." He mutters.
"Perhaps a scientific invention? Do they have Calamity cannons? Maybe lazer blasters? Matter replicators? *Sigh* How do I get to her..."
He begins walking around Fourside, looking for anything that's perticularly abnormal.

While the Rookie looked through data and calculated, Tophat cautiously looked through the recent memories of the different students, one at a time. For the students it would feel like a slight headache lasting only a minute or so.

"You what?" the soldier asked at first, but then looked Hellosh over more carefully, his clothing bearing stains, having likely not been washed in quite some time. "Right... I'll bear that in mind." he said, then turned around. "Well, have a nice day. And thanks for the tip." with that, the soldier walked off.

Some of the students who's memories were searched through by Tophat rubbed their temples or eyes when the headache set in. No one seemed to notice several people getting a headache at once, however.

Tophat's search for the first couple of time yielded no results. After several tries, however, the memories of a student revealed her standing outside, looking up at the sky after hearing the loud sound of thunder, but seeing the weather was clear. She thought the sound was due to someone practicing lightning magic, and thus didn't investigate further.
