The machine generated a shield to defend against Marcus's attack. Xyleena would find it difficult to flank something that was against a wall. However, this shield was different. Jessica, with her sensitive nose would probably notice an odd smell about it and the machine in general. A smell of magic...

Seeing Rex generate electricity the machine did the same. This too would smell of magic to Jessica. It then, aimed one of the devices on it's back at Rex and fired a small shot of energy at him.

'Yes. It's more statue than machine and someone broke part of it to free me, so i don't think it's in any shape worth mentioning." Felina explained. [color==purple]"Would you like to come in and have a drink?"[/color]

According to the data available a Legaian ship could have anywhere from 100 to 500 or more people working aboard it depending on the size of the ship. And could generally hold enough food and water to last a month on average, though they may have more if required.

Rita frowned and searched for how the ships got their supplies

Envy frowned "Well I can't do much with that shield up, I'm a melee fighter... and don't think you're getting out of here with that sword sparky!" he said as he backed away from the machines attack

Rex calmly shifted to the side to sidestep the bolt fired at him. Activating the boosters in his feet, he pulled the sword back horizontally before boosting straight for the beast and trusting the sword full force at the machine as he flew toward it.

He gave Envy a thumbs up as he flew. "Nice, you figured out my nickname! As for the sword... we'll see."

Ness sighed a bit. "Yes... I can't really do anything about a stone mech. Sorry. And sure... I'd love to!" Her expression brightened a bit as she did as Felina asked.

"Hey, who all is using magic? I can smell like two different sources." Jessica called out. When her vision finally returned, she glanced into the room and noticed Rex and some of the others fighting the robot horse. After a moment of putting two and two together, she shouted into the room, "Don't wreck that thing completely! I want to take a look at it!" After noticing the bones on the floor, a look of disgust formed on her face and she thought it best to put more distance between herself and the open room.

Xyleena scurried onto the wall and moved to climb the ceiling, positioning herself over the mech. Marcus continued bombarding the shield with his smartdiscs, lobbing a third into the mix, as Lyra flipped over to a consistent laser firing mode, trying to burn the shield away. "Think we have bigger problems then who gets to keep the sword you two... Savranth, can you give the bastard a shock?"

Those who looked at the objects in the corner of the room would see a much better picture of them, now. The objects were large and had small opening in their fronts with a small irregular key hole like spot below that.

The machine dropped the shield as Rex attacked, taking the hit dead on in it's main body. Yet, no damage was visible. It lifted one of it's legs and swatted him down and to the left.

Marcus's attacks did nothing to the shield and nor did Lyra's The machine looked at her and suddenly she was surrounded by a raging fire. This, too, would smell of magic to Jessica.

Savranth created a small whirlwind in his hand and applied it to his blade. He then charged the machine and slashed at it several times using his Speed and Strength enhancing magics before diving under and through it's legs to end up behind it. "That should-" His blade cracked and shattered. "-Not have happened..." He said looking back at the monster. "Just what the Hell is this thing to break mythril!?"

The machine seemed to speak.

"Lesser creatures, you are not fit to tread on the thresholds of Gods.  You will suffer the fate of all who try."

It seemed to look at the blade in Rex's hands as it said this.

Felina brought Vanessa some tea. "I figured as much. Don't let it worry you..." She said sitting down.

Rita would find that there were two ways they could be resupplied. A ship could deliver what they need. Or they could stop in a port.

Rita looked to see where the majority of the ships came from.

Envy walked over to inspect the object in the corner

As Rex was swatted, he rolled a bit before skidding back to his feet. Noting Sav's busted blade, he tossed the new one over to him. "Yo! Temporary replacement!." Smirking a bit dopily, he alchemized his chain into its gauntlet form and dashed in before stomping the ground, cracking it and swinging a monster uppercut with his gauntlet hand toward the machine's 'face' region. "Oh yeah, you gatekeepers never shut up either...."

Ness calmly sipped the tea before looking up toward Felina. "I can't help it, I really liked that design. ...Did you build that mech yourself, Ms. Felina?" I may have been able to help her... the only way I could now is to take the mech to my lab... But that's a big no-no right now.

 

[FPSfanatic]

"ah, screw me- need a fire extinguisher over here!" Lyra called, holding fire and sweating. Marcus lobbed a can of fire suppresant, only to miss and cause it to land in the fire, exploding the can and spraying the suppresant everywhere.
Xyleena watched the fight, preparing to drop on the creature the next time its shield dropped.
Marcus called back his discs, and said "hell Sav, maybe your great great great granddad and grandmom made this thing, does it matter? We can talk about how amazing the design is once its destroyed."

The objects seemed to be shut down and inactive, yet had no obvious way to turn them on despite appearing to be technological in nature.

The machine doesn't have a shield active, at this moment.

Savranth grabbed the blade that Rex threw to him. "You don't get it." Big surprise there. "Mythril is indestructible or close to it. For it to break from attempting to attack something is unheard of... It'd be like having the sun burn out."

Rex's attack did little other than move the machine a little.

Savranth charged the machine again. "Damn... About now, I wish I had a hammer!" He says swinging the blade, but as he strikes, instead of a blade it is a hammer. "What!?" The machine uses one of it's legs to strike him and sends him flying back.

Despite this, Savranth is more concerned with what happened with the weapon. Looking back at it, he sees that it has become a blade once more. Did I just see that?

"Uh... No..." Felina replied. "I actually was the test pilot for the Second Generation of mechs. I volunteered and was to test it for Lucia. The main design I understand was handled by someone else, but they needed her to design the engine and power source."

According to the data, most Legaian airships were manufactured in Fourside. Hence the airport and the sheer mass of them in the skies at any given time. Though, some were built in Solaris.

Having just about everything Loki asked for, Rita started to head back to the caves

Seeing no way to use the objects, and seeing that the machines shield was down, Envy turned one of his hands into a blade and leapt at the creature, aiming a slash at its back leg, the knee joint.

Rex took a look at the blade and also noted his attack doing fuck all to the machine. "That would've been helpful like... 8 seconds ago.... Well, good luck Sav." Realizing the machine was only interested in the blade wielder and that he barely did anything, Rex shrugged and turned his attention to the boxes strewn about. He did what he normally did, drew a transmutation circle on an object and attempted to take the top off to see what was inside.

Ness tilted her head a bit. ...The design was someone else's? "That's impressive, Ms. Felina. I'd kill to be able to test a prototype! Who is this Lucia... and where could I find her?"

OoC jesus, its late. I have to tap out, got school in the morning.

"You think I knew that would happen?" Savranth replied as the machine seemed to charge him. Using his enhanced speed, he jumped up to avoid the attack.

As Envy hit the leg joint, it seemed to buckle and move a bit, but remained undamaged.
"Here. Catch." Savranth said, throwing the blade to Envy.

Rex's alchemy had no effect on the device, though, if he looked into the hole, he might notice that it looked sort of like a forge. With an odd irregular keyhole like shape beneath it.

"Well... I needed some money and I never did work too well in the fields. My husband pretty much abandoned our family after Rosetta was taken to Xiphatia... There was a good chance I'd die in the proces, too." Felina started explaining.

 

[Furioso]

Envy caught the sword Hmmm....I wonder.. he thought as he ran over to the irregular keyhole "I wish this thing could fit this keyhole?" he said as he tried to use the sword as a key.

Rex blinked as his alchemy failed, but looked inside and heard Envy. "...Kay. You open all of these box things, and I'll keep this machine thing off you." As he said this, he rushed in to deliver a hard right hook toward the machine's 'face', hoping to stun it somewhat. "...Or we could just play hot potato with it..." He said as he realized how dumb that plan was without being able to actually damage the thing.

Ness' expression darkened a bit as she nodded to Felina to continue.

Despite Envy's efforts the sword's form didn't change... Though, he would find that the sword seemed to be about the right size.

Rex's punch seemed to rock the machine a bit, but appeared to do no structural damage. Still, the machine started to bear down on Envy and brought up it's front leg to slash at him

"I think I was the only one who survived, but Lucia's power-source was complete and the new designs were finalized. As a thank you, Lucia let me take the prototype saying that it was no longer necessary, and that it was hers to do with as she wished." Felina explains. She seems to be caught up in the memory for a moment, then realizes that she hasn't answered Vanessa's question. "Lucia is in Fourside."

OoC: @Dot: The main reason i had that fail was that it sounded like it would dissemble devices which would be bad...
Anyway, I hate to do this, but I do need to go in an hour early

The Rookie was leaning against a wall in Holadino and casually observed the sparse morning travel, including Rita.
