Jessica would see in the corners of the room, some objects. They seemed almost box shaped, but couldn't make out the details. Also, there seemed to be something on the ground in the area surrounding the pedestal. Small objects. Rocks perhaps?
The drone didn't seem to set off anything. Nor did Rex. Rex could walk all the way up to the pedestal, if he wanted.
[hr]
"Yes, that could have gone better... But I'm fine. A little worse for the wear, but I'll live." Felina said with a smile. "Though, my machine was totaled..."
[hr]
The entry would explain that Legaian airships used several large engines similar to what standard cars used, though far more powerful. They seemed to be able to generate small anti-gravity wells of sorts in order to float without using wings or thrust like a normal airplane. Though, the wings did help with piloting. Civilian craft were generally smaller and lighter than military models.
Xyleena noted the box like objects with superior night vision, and cautiously crept towards them.
Marcus and Lyra moved to the center, both with weapons out.
Jessica took a closer look at the small objects around the pedestal before attempting to pointing them out to anyone. Seeing Rex walk right up to the pedestal, she held up one of her hands and said, "Um, you might want to wait on that, I'm still looking to see if anything's in there."
Xyleena would hear crunching sounds as she crept through the darkness. Crunch. Crack. Snap!
Rex would see that the sword was made of excellent craftsmanship. And seemed to be almost of Legaian make. Probably using the same basic methods.
Savranth walked on in. "Don't be so afraid... Obviously there aren't any traps Most likely this was some sort of religious temple or something." He said the Envy and Jessica.
[hr]
"I took part in the fighting..." Felina explained.
[hr]
Rita would find that according to the computer a Legaian airship could fly longer than a person could live. The main problem was maintance and supplies.
OoC: Did Nail ever post his pic he made of the temple?
Ness shook her head. "I knew that, Ms. Felina. I'm sure that mech of yours was important in the defense of your town. I was asking how it got destroyed. I may not look it, but I'm rather good at fixing robotic systems and the like."
[hr]
Rex blinked at the sword's quality. "Nice. Almost like that sword I bought a long time back..." Jake seemed to like it a lot. He yawned as he began to walk back. "Dooby doo bop boo~."
Xyleena looked for the source of the sound, reluctant to go farther. If she couldn't locate the source, she would wander farther into the cave's recesses.
Lyra watched Rex look the sword over, while Marcus stood guard near Jessica, trying to look unobstrusive.
"Never hurts to be cautious." Jessice replied to Savranth. Since she apparently was unable to identify the items laying around the pedestal, she directed her attention to looking at the walls, expecting, or perhaps hoping, that there was writing on them similar to the exterior of the building.
Xyleena would find that the sound was coming from the objects at her feet.
The room suddenly became bright, revealing all that it had to offer. The ground was covered in broken, and shattered bones. Human bones.
In a corner of the room a device seemed to come alive. It stood up, standing on four legs and about the size of a horse, and seemed to look at the group. And especially at Rex as he held the sword.
Small note: The device on the right side, it's head would be closed.
"Or maybe there were no traps because this place doesn't need any..." Savranth says as he unsheathes his sword. "Careful. Legaian tech can be tricky."
[hr]
"Oh. It was turned to stone..." Felina explained. "I don't know how such a thing is possible..."
[hr]
Through her research, Rita would find that by supplies, it meant things needed for human occupants. Food, water, medical supplied, and such.
OoC: I have a pic he made, but I'm loathe to upload it and take credit for someone else's work. If I had know, I would have addressed that much sooner...
Rita was pleased with what she found, it would have been her next avenue of search anyways. She looked up how many people were stationed at each type of airship, and how much food and water an airship could hold for them.
[hr]
Envy attempted to pluck the sword from Rex's hands "Ah ah ah, we can pick treasures once we're through with that thing."
Rex looked back at the machine and noted it 'staring' at him. "Oh... gatekeepers. ....This gon' be guuuuud." He gripped the sword as he shifted into a stance. Black electricity started to arc around Rex and the sword he'd just picked up, threatening to shock Envy if he touched it. "Tech's still tech, no matter how tricky. Enough of a voltage will fry these things." He stood his ground as he waited for the machine to make a move.
[hr]
Ness' eyes widened a bit. "To stone...? That sounds like... petrification..." ...But how was that done on a machine... Back where I'm from, petrification could only be done on a human...
"guys? We aren't the first ones here!" Xyleena calls out, not bothered by the bones much. She turns back to see the creature, and rushes in to try and flank it.
Marcus quickly whirled out two smart discs, each one going for a different rear leg, blades spinning. Lyra took aim and fired two plasma bolts at the things face, looking to weld the metal together.
Jessica recoiled a bit and shut her eyes when the lights suddenly came on and she was blinded temporarily. "Argh! Who hit the damn light switch? Could have at least given me some warning." She complained as she took her visor off and rubbed her eyes while keeping them closed. Picking up on what everyone was talking about, she started backing up.
