The knight Valentine had simply run away from ran after her, though not at all as fast.
(To Erica, Val & the Rookie: Wait, that was your most powerful attack? Ah hell, take cover!)
Hearing Tophat, the Rookie got up and glanced around while heading to Erica. He helped her up, then hurried to cover together with her.
The wizard's shield began to buldge out, thinning as it strained to contain the power it had absorbed. If Mild or Val touched it, they would feel like got sucked off strength.
The knight who's visor had been opened slowly got up, a spike of miasma pointing at the Rookie and Erica as he headed towards them.

Hearing Tophat, the Rookie got up and glanced around while heading to Erica. He helped her up, then hurried to cover together with her.
The wizard's shield began to buldge out, thinning as it strained to contain the power it had absorbed. If Mild or Val touched it, they would feel like got sucked off strength.
The knight who's visor had been opened slowly got up, a spike of miasma pointing at the Rookie and Erica as he headed towards them.
"In a nutshell, they're explosives powerful enough to level a city the size of Fourside. If the blast itself wouldn't, then the ensuing shockwave will. Then there's the nuclear fallout that gets left behind. Exposure to the radiation harmful, and potentially lethal. At the epicenter, the radiation can remain for roughly a hundred years, and has a could spread through various means. All in all, not something that should be used."

"Thanks..." Erica weakly said to Rookie once he brought her to cover.
Seeing the spike of miasma heading towards them, Erica gathered what little strength she could muster and raised her left hand towards the spike, raising a Lesser Ward. Although this looked precicely the same as the Steadfast Ward she had used earlier, it would absorb impacts with far less efficiency.
Seeing the expanding shield, and hearing Tophat's warning, Valentine sprinted away from the wizard and took cover behind a tree.

@Furi I'm sorry, I just always assigned Envy a female gender. I realize she's an it, but I feel that its actions are feminine, much more political, sleep with you to gain power back-stabby then the straight up stab you in the back that most male rouge archetypes fit.

The Rookie nodded to Erica, then turned to the approaching knight. He reached for his pistol, but only grasped air. Not wishing to endanger Erica by letting the knight get into their cover, he handed her Tophat before moving closer to the knight.

Out of pure instinct, he dropped to the ground, just as the wizard exploded, sending the knights flying.

@Furi correction, Envy's default form is neither male or female, making it the best for placing your own gender on to. Or so claims the wiki.
But should we really be arguing about this? I feel Envy fits the female role better then the male role. You feel otherwise. You know who I'm referring to when I say 'she' when Envy's involved. The point seems rather moot to discuss, beyond the discussion involving gender and how it plays in a person's own assigning of the gender.
Which admittedly, would be a fun discussion. No need for that here though.
