"That's not possible. If you see your magic as defying the laws of the universe than you should be trying to figure out what the real rules of your universe are." responded Rita as she closed her book.

"...Are you sure that's wise sir? Wouldn't they spot us on the outskirts?" said Envy, already getting up and heading towards Rockbyrd in the chance that Richard wouldn't change his plans.

 

[Kirke]

The Rookie groaned weakly, having taken much of the blast. His armour was trailing smoke, and he hardly moved.
(To Erica: He's got an concussion and serious burns. It is likely that he is also in shock or about go into it, due to high amounts of pain.)

Grace shrugged, "That's why we're trying to figure out how magic works. All we know is that it defies the laws of reality as we know it, and that it has a tendency for the dramatic."

 

[Drakmorg]

Jessica was awake and wandering around the palace grounds, specifically the garden. She was still carrying the Philospher's Blade shifted to the form of a small staff, but didn't need to use it to walk any more, and instead carried it around so she could give it back to Savranth as soon as she saw him.

 

[Furioso]

"Perhaps you should start with figuring out how your universe actually functions first. You won't discover much if you cling to outdated views on how the universe works." replied Rita as she looked over to Jessica "So you were just injured? I was wondering if that walking stick was for an injury or a pre-existing condition."

 

[Chungus]

"By the time you get there, the unit would have already engaged the invaders." Richard answered.

Outside Rockbyrd, a squad of ten soldiers looked out over Rockbyrd whilst under a invisiblity cloak of their own. The rest of the unit hung further back and waited for their sign to advance.

Erica kneeled down to Rookie and inspected the wounds, whilst also inspecting his armour, looking for a way to take it off.

You can shut down his ability to sense pain, no? she asked Tophat.

OoC @Kirke: Would he have 3rd degree burns?

Grace shook her head, "The thing is: With everything BUT magic, what we have WORKS, and from what I get, trying to fit magic into the equation, or just starting from scratch results in NOTHING making sense, like we're some plaything for some toys. Tedd proposed the idea that magic and our world are actually two different worlds intertwined into one world, with two entirely different sets of physics."
She see's Jessica, "Uh... no... I sorta... screwed up with her..."[hr]
Mild slowly gets up, and begins to walk up to Erica and Rookie, "So... They're dead, right?"

OoC @Nail how total is the invisibility cloak we talking here? Full spectrum? Blocking sonar or motion detection? Or just vision?

The squad would see no one moving in Rockbyrd, its half-finished buildings deserted, its walls unmanned.

Envy's communication device would begin spewing static shortly after Richard's statement. From behind him, a voice said "Well, that makes this interesting. We were planning on escorting you in sir, but the fact you're mentioning a war party changes the context entirely!"

Ooc @Furi maybe I overreacted a bit, and started getting into 'argue' thinking instead of 'discuss' which is how I hsould have approached that. Sorry.

OoC: @FPS, in case it comes up, Envy is disguised at the moment, kinda just looks like [insert default male here] for the moment

Envy turned around, taking a defensive stance "What?!"

(To Erica: Ah, yes. I'll get right on that. However, he's probably going into shock anyway.)
A closer inspection would show that the armour plates were simply pulled off, and clothing underneath could be taken off in segments. His wounds were rather serious, with his broken ribs were poking ever so slightly on his lung, and third-degree burns around the place where he had been hit earlier and his hands. He had minor burns over the entire body, except the parts that had been covered by armour plates. His breathing became a bit less ragged as Tophat decreased his pain, but it wasb't gone completely as it served as a warning for him to not disturb the wounds.

"Then get better scientists." she looked between Grace and Jessica and then back to Grace "You did that to her?"

Jessica's ears twitched as she heard someone speaking to her. She turned to face Rita and replied, "I guess you could put it that way. I can walk fine now though, so don't worry about that getting in the way of anything." She then quickly went back to gazing at a particular flower that had caught her interest. She sighed as she heard the discussion regarding her health going on between Grace and Rita, though she didn't care to weigh in on it just yet.

 

[Wackymon]

"I... Well... Grace began, "I screwed up... I grabbed savranth's shoulder, and when Jessica was on the other side after teleporting... Well... She was a bloody mess... And..."

 

[Chungus]

OoC @FPS: Let's say just vision.

Richard grunted when Envy's comunication channel started acting up. He switched channel, contacting the leader of the squad. "You've been compromised. A suprise attack is no longer an option, take them down, now."

"Sir." The captain responded, then turned towards the rest of the unit, consisting of 39 heavily armed soldiers, 10 mechs and five drones. "Alright, it's go time. Engage the enemy.

Seeing no one, the troops that were looking out over Rockbyrd switched to infrared vision, having been told the Predators used cloaking tech.

Erica nodded at Mild as she looked Rookie over.

This is bad. I can fix up the majority of these wounds, but not the most severe burns. He'll need new skin on those places... she said to Tophat, then looked up at Mild. "I don't have the ability to heal him completely. Run back to that town we were in and get help." Having said that, Erica looked back to Rookie and began taking off his clothing that covered his torso. Once done, she saw the damage indicating the broken ribs. And things just became a whole lot worse... He may have suffer damage to his organs. If that's the case, he'll need a operation. Erica placed a fist to her mouth as she thought.

Grace nodded, as she began to run to the town.

From behind Envy, Scout Tan stood, in full gear of battle. "you try to sneak up on people that can turn invisible. Not too smart, I must say. Now, you can either calmly surrender and allow us to hold you while our trap is sprung, or you can try to escape and die in the attempt. Your call here."

While the area in the fortress was a higher temperature then the area around it, there were no predators that would be seen by heat vision.

"I see... I don't need to hear any more."

Envy looked around, his advanced eyesight would help him spot more Predators. "What, is it just you? What if I say no to surrendering, will it be an honest duel?"

Jessica was rather relieved to hear that Rita didn't care to hear more about her 'mishap', as she greatly preferred the matter to simply be left alone and not require her to explain anything more about it. One of her ears was still turned to face Rita and Grace to listen in on them, but otherwise she seemed to not be paying them much attention.
