Loki continued to climb up the mountain, now nearing the dragon den.

"Well... We last saw eachother in that place by the lake, I think? We've been wandering around there for some time, and frankly, neither Valentine nor myself could remember just why we came there." Erica answered, rubbing her lip slightly. Having poor memory, she didn't know Jessica's eye colour had changed. "Anyway, eventually, we had to go save Tophat and his companion from this peculiar band of wizards. I still don't know just why they attack, but the fact they had ill intentions was crystal clear. After we slew the wizards, we returned to that town, and then found ourselves here. she explained, then looked to Valentine. "Did I get that right?"

Valentine nodded.

"So there you have it."

"Mmm...no. I wouldn't want to ruin what you and Black have. I hope you feel the same way." Persephone replied.

Ness looked up at the tuners and nodded approvingly. "That's great to hear! If it's alright with you, could I take a closer look at a few weapons lying around here and that tuner, if you have time? That material you were talking seems interesting."

Yuki smiled a bit as she nodded. [color=bb66bb] "Yeah... I don't want anything to happen to her either... And I definitely don't want to hurt her emotionally. Physically... I don't want to kill her." [/color]

 

[Furioso]

Rita closed her book as she saw Loki approaching and walked up to him. "Hey, how did it go?"

Having spotted Rita as he was flying over Envy had flown down nearby, picking at some weeds growing out of a crack in the rock as if he were gathering materials for a nest.

Lyra nodded. "Of course. Its the least I could do, after you saved me so many times. Just don't interfere in the smith's work, and you'll be fine."

 

[Drakmorg]

Jessica raised her left hand to her mouth as a show of concern. "Oh my! Someone attacked Tophat? Is it alright now? I had no idea that something like that had happened..." Her gaze shifted down to the floor as a feeling of guilt washed over her. "I guess it was a good thing we split up though. Who knows what would have happened to Tophat if you were wasting time around me."

Ness nodded as she made her way toward one of the nearby forges and looking toward any of the completed tools or weapons that may have been made. I wonder what they make out of this stuff. Alien tech should give me some new inspiration for stuff to create or test.

"So you're that kind of person." Persephone said with a mixture of kidding and seriousness.

[color=bb66bb] "I'll change little by little... Plus, I like training with her, of course we're gonna end up giving each other a few cuts and bruises." [/color] Yuki replied, still pseudo-meditating.

"Not quite as I had hoped. Everything seemed to be the same as usual. I could pick up on no talk regarding Garzic's death. Perhaps it would be spoken about in a place that actually is on Xiphatian soil." Loki answered Rita. "For that matter, I heard little talk about the Destroyer also. But this can be easily remedied."

"Yes, no harm came to him. His companion, however, did have quite a number done to him. I was able to mend the majority of his wounds, though. And professional healers soon arived on the scene to take him to more capable hands. So, I don't worry about it." Erica explained. She noted Jessica's guilted expression, and added, "And neither should you. There was no knowing this would have happened. The threat was dealt with, and all of us lived, so there's no reason to dwell on this. Especially since no fault lies with you."

"Training...Of course. Just try not to drink too much of her blood." Persephone said as she smoked away.

The first forge ness would near would have its smith be a rather large predator delicately soldering a plasmacaster together, humming a song as he worked. He seemed enraptured with his job. Most of the others Ness would watch would be acting similarly, though their species and gender changed often. She might even spot two alien species she hadn't seen before, one bloated and misshapen and green, the other with short fur and very monkey like.

 

[Furioso]

"I thought that would be the case, letting news slip that their King had died would likely cause panic and inspire Legaia. What did you have in mind for the destroyer?" asked Rita

The King is dead? Oho this sounds interesting... thought Bird-Envy as he brought some strands of weeds up to an elevated point wedged between some rocks as he started to pretend to make a nest.

Yuki smirked as Persephone drifted off. She got up and lied down next to Black, her clone still keeping vigilant watch over the two.

Ness smiled as she saw how happy everyone seemed to be as they worked on things. She nodded to herself as she looked at the plasmacutter, recognizing it from the time she'd helped Lyra out at Rockbyrd. She didn't seem off put by the other aliens she hadn't seen. She slowly began making her way toward the tuners, looking at a few forges as she walked past.

 

[Chungus]

"The plans regarding that have changed little. When we return to Shaintaio, we will suggest the posibility of the Destroying being responsible for the act. After this, provided this 'information' is taken seriously by the court, we could leak the story to who or whatever is tasked with bringing news to the people. Then, with any who are literate knowing of it, this Destroyer would be all but damned." Loki explained.

 

[Drakmorg]

"I guess you're right..." Jessica replied to Erica, still looking at the floor. "It's just...well never mind, I'll just drop it." She said with a sigh. Finally looking back up at Erica, she said, "Well, I was thinking about taking a look around this place while I wait for Vanessa to finish what she's doing. Do you and your friend care to join, or have you got better places to be?" She made a small gesture with her hand towards Valentine to indicate who else she was speaking about.

Not all the workers were making weapons however, as Lyra had said. She'd pass makers of clothing, armor, and small metal cubes that seemed to be fancy holographic TVs.
The tuners themselves were simple metal, with strange glasslike tips. They almost touched at the center of where the beam would exit, modifying there weapons strength as nescessary. Lyra approached Ness after her examinations. "Strong, independent... Beautiful. The Sinclair earns its name well, does it not? I hate to pull you away early, but the forge will be shutting down soon, and I need to check in with the fleet. You ready to head back?"

 

[Furioso]

Rita thought for a moment "That's a really good plan. It will prey on the people's need to blame someone, anyone."

Bird-Envy hopped out of sight.

Ness nodded a small bit, then blushed a bit as she noticed the 'beautiful' remark. "Yes... it's a fitting name, I suppose. And sure, let's get back." She added, smiling a bit toward Lyra.

...Is she hitting on me? I don't know if...
