The rathalos was just drifting off to sleep, his spirits buoyed slightly by the mild nighttime weather. Before he became oblivious to his surroundings however, a new scent reached his nostrils and his deep blue eyes snapped open. Another human. He had encountered his share of the two legged pests in the past, even before coming here, and though he was not a particularly ancient example of his species, his carapace still bore scars from battles with hunters, battles that he had been lucky enough to win. This past experience allowed him to identify the scent as the larger male of the species, and he lifted his headd with a growl.
