"I think that'sh enough for now." the woman said more to herself than to anyone else, after she had finished the third vodka.

Not knowing if the barkeeper was still there or not, she asked: "Umm ... could you lead me to my room?"

 

[Slenn]

"Well, I worked as a maid in a building of 20 or so people for 10 years, so I'm able to cook a variety of dishes and clean just about anything. I'm also quite handy with repairing machines." She said, giving off a confident look.

"Maybe I'll check my books, see if there's something in there." Robin mused.

The barkeeper called over one of the employees, who guided the woman up to her room.

"In that case, maybe try working for a merchant." the barkeeper said to EMily.

 

[Silence]

Inside her room, the woman asked the employee to open the window for her. After the employee had left, she fumbled around for the bed. Dropping her swords next to it, she let herself fall into the bed, leaving her clothes on. After seconds, she began to snore.

"That's prolly tha best choice, yeh." Sibylla replied to Hillary. She continued onward, giving the cactus as wide a berth as she could manage. And I guess headed into town.

[color=46e16f] "The farms... or the transport barges..." [/color] Zephy echoed softly to herself before she'd groan before muttering softly to herself. [color=46e16f] "Those both mean manual labor... and I'm gonna be useless there... That and the military means we'll probably have to try and keep our ears hidden. That won't go well..." [/color] She'd take another moment to sigh before looking to Cybil. [color=46e16f] "Let's let the others know... I don't think we'll be able to do much." [/color]

After a few minutes of walking, Matilda and the others would find themselves in a large town square. At the centre of it was a long, rectangular building made of red sandstone. Protruding upwards from the centre of the building was the large, blade-like structure. As the sun had almost completely set, the blade was only slightly glowing, barely enough to illuminate the building below.

Robin looked up at the sword, then down to the building at its base. "What is this place?" he asked,stepping forward.

"You can..." Robin cut himself off, remembering magic wasn't welcome here. "I meant what function does it serve. I'm presuming it's some keep or castle. Wonder if we can go inside."

A crowd had started to form around the building, most people staring up at the tip of the blade. A few people were leaning out of the windows facing the town square, adults and children alike. One person, standing near the group, looked over at Robin. "It's Palladein's Temple of Calibeth." she stated. "And the blade functions as our lighthouse."

If any of the group had a good eye for measurements, they may be able to estimate the building at the base of the blade was 15m tall, 15m wide and 50m long. The blade was slightly less wide, at 35m, but stretched up to 110m tall.

"We'll talk later." Robin told Topaz, then thanked the woman who described the building. He saw the crowd gathering, and decided to stay and watch.

Hillary would take a moment to get an idea of where she was, looking at the mountains and other landmarks that could potentially be used to she could come back with Timea to show her the cactus. This however too a bit of time, so when she finally looked back to see where Sybilla had gotten off to, she had already gotten a pretty good head start towards town. "Sybilla? Hey! You're supposed to not be able to see anything, come back before you get lost or something!" Hillary quickly started to scoot in Sybilla's direction to catch up with her.

[color=9f2089]"Yeah you're probably right. A little bit of extra scratch isn't gonna be worth possibly causing trouble."[/color] Cybil quietly replied and nodded to Zephy. Scanning her surroundings for a moment, she located the sword monument in the skyline and made towards it.

Sibylla stopped moving and turned around when she heard Hillary shout at her. "Oh, sorry. Didn't realize ya'll weren't followin'."

"It's okay, nothing bad happened." Hillary replied. "You wanna go talk to someone in the town now? You're going to that big towery thing in the city right now." Hillary pointed ahead to the city way off in the distance. "You think there'd be a place to sleep over there then?"

As Robin and the crowd watched, the sun finally finished setting, and the blade stopped glowing. After a pause, the tip of the blade suddenly burst into fire, the flames spreading halfway down the sword. As soon as the fire started, Matilda took a few steps back. [color=006d5b]"Is something on fire?"[/color] she asked, a little worried.

Though there had been a full moon the night before, in Kaisir, there would be no sign of any moon in the sky, even on the horizon.

"Mmmkay. Do you know of any merchants that might have some part time work?" EMily asked the bartender.
