As speaking back to a stone colossus wasn't something a ordinary man would do, Sebastian didn't respond to Aqua. Seeing how both Shara and Heno were coming to their defence, however, they did continue to move backwards, just in case Aqua would think to attack.

Matilda walked over to the commotion and sat down by the road, laying her cane in her lap. She waited, quietly, for people to start answering questions so she could work out if they were lying or not.

You briefly try to resist, but you are easily pushed aside, falling to all threes in the process. You grind your teeth for a moment, and as you get back up, you consider grabbing the half-full bucket as a weapon. Thinking better of it, you instead storm off towards your hut, trying and failing to suppress your anger.

"That's how I've stayed alive for much longer than mankind has even existed. That's how I stayed alive in the war, fighting to protect YOUR species! That's how I stayed alive as all of my friends died in that war! I swore to protect your kind long ago, and that's what I intend to do. Stand. Aside."

Sebastian(?) didn't try to escape when Aqua stopped to rant to Heno, partially because doing so effectively on the soft terrain would require then to shift into another form, and rendering their denial of being a shapeshifter null, and partially because they did still want answers about their predicament, and having shown themselves asking about it, might as well see it through. They did, however, continue to put distance between themselves and Aqua, standing up once they were behind the well.

Living is feeling the tiny ache and pain of everyday life! Life is hunger, thirst, sleep! You will never truly understand the importance of life! You spit in face of human everywhere with your words! Did we ask you to protect us!? Do you truly believe that humans could not be protector of our own world! I am just as strong as you, stone woman."

I fought to give all of you the privilege to live, and I won't let you squander what little meaning your already short lives have by being stupid and getting yourselves killed." finished, she looked back to the Watcher.
