"All right, tell me a secret" Anik answered Topaz, ready for him to do something else than telling her a secret.

 

[username sucks]

[color=FFCC33]"The secret to my power is actually in my chakrams. Here, take one."[/color] He told Anik, then summoned a chakram and held it out to her.

 

[Drakmorg]

[color=9f2089]"Why not? Like you said, they sound pretty useful."[/color] Cybil curiously asked.

 

[Silence]

Anik felt for Topaz' hand and the chakram, not sure what to expect.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"They are, certainly. But they're an offshoot of dark magic, which is delicate and hard to control. I could try putting someone to sleep and accidentally give them a concussion, or try repairing an object and have it crumble to dust." Robin explained. "I don't want to risk hurting anyone."

The chakram would cut into Anik's hand a little bit if she touched the blade, but nothing magical would happen. Once she held on to it, Topaz let go and the weapon immediately disappeared. [color=FFCC33]"You... You are not worthy! What have you done?!"[/color]

 

[Drakmorg]

Cybil sucked in air as she replied to Robin, [color=9f2089]"Ooh yeah, that does sound pretty finicky."[/color]

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Exactly. Hopefully I can practice a little, but until then I'd rather not risk it. The only spell I've mastered is telekenisis."

 

[Silence]

Anik had held the chakram firmly enough so that it would not fall down, and had wanted to feel its form with both hands. So when the weapon disappeared, she was quite confused.

"What? What have you done? I did only touch it!"

She used her left hand to feel for the chakram on her right hand, and only found the cut it had made. She rubbed it.

[color=FFCC33]"You are unworthy of Gem powers! To prove your worth, you must... Um... collect some round rocks! Yeah, like five hundred of them!"[/color]

 

[Drakmorg]

[color=9f2089]"Well that's pretty useful at least."[/color] Cybil commented as she turned to another page in the book.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"True." Robin agreed. Cybil would find a page of several magical symbols, including some of of the ones used in Robin's spells and the one on his hand.

 

[Silence]

Anik grabbed a handful of sand.

"Here. These are at least 500 little round rocks."

[color=FFCC33]"that's not- uh, Congratulations! You passed the first test!"[/color]

 

[Drakmorg]

Cybil had no interest in the illegible symbols and kept flipping through.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Most of it was supremely nerdy stuff related to magic and magic theory, but Cybil would eventually find a page that was legible and had pictures. It was dark magic, and what was written there was unsettling.

 

[Demonjazz]

Heno looked over to Cybil, and Robin. "That is not how magic works! You do not need books, or special writing to use magic. Magic comes from the soul, Magic is drawing upon your natural energy and making it physical."

 

[Silence]

"Good." Anik smirked. "Now the thing you showed me, why did it disappear? Did you just make it vanish?"

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"No, you need a medium for magic. It needs to be charged and constructed." Robin replied to Heno.

 

[Drakmorg]

[color=9f2089]"Yeesh, this stuff is kinda nasty."[/color] Cybil commented as she read.

[color=9f2089]"Maybe where you're from, but it's different in other places."[/color] Cybil pointed out to Heno and Robin.
