Hillary looked puzzled as this person the sailor said should have the map didn't. "Do ya know anything about stuff over that way then?" Hillary tried to think of something she could at least get information wise. "It's important ya know, it really is."

"I don't understand. How could the magic not be analyzed before it's integrated as information read by a computer? What information is inputted into the computer?"

[color=9f2089]"Oh. Oh well."[/color] Cybil said with a shrug. She giggles softly to herself as she continued petting Mochan. [color=9f2089]"Neat. People back home can only do that with their mind."[/color] She commented on Mochan's telekinesis spell.

"Well it all depends on exactly what cat you ask, where I am in space, and whether the government wants to harsh my groove or not. Take one ultra powerful artifact from a remote jungle somewhere, and don't give it to the Men In Black, and suddenly everyone starts putting wanted posters up everywhere."

"They *hic* probly wouldn't use it better, anywaysh, sho what'sh *hic* their bushiness taking it from you? Theshe criminalsh, *hic* I say! A job for justishe! *hic* Fight theshe men in *hic* black!"

Except the program simulates that stuff, and then the spell happens."[/color] Mochán replied. [color=32127a]"Nobody's really sure why it works like that, and why you need a special type of processor, but it does work, so that's good enough for me."[/color]

After she walked into her line of sight, Timea kept her eyes on Hillary, watching her talk to the Calibethian woman. Seeing little coming from it, Timea uncrossed her arms, and approached Hillary. "It's okay, Hillary", she called out as she walked. "We'll just have to see what's out there first hand. So let's go do that~" she added, speaking with forced cheer at the end of her sentence, although it sounded natural.

"I think you've had a little too much." Robin told Anik.

Hillary was about to ask the woman stuff when Timea interrupted her. "But this nice lady was gonna tell me stuff?" Hillary pointed back to the woman, having a confused expression of 'but I was doing what you wanted me to do?'.

"Well, that's all right. I know all I wanted about the area, other then what it looks like, which is what I would've liked the map for", Timea explained, looking down to Hillary. "But we'll just see what the place is like, and ask for a map if needed, when we get there."

 

[Slenn]

"Oh okay. So it's all automated is what you're saying. From what you're telling me, the spell works regardless of who's chanting it. So then the only advantage of having a computer is that it could potentially be casted faster.

But where are these processors coming from? Is there some non-disclosed company that makes these things? And why not analyze the spells with computer aided technology? Perhaps there could be a better understanding of them."

[color=32127a]"It's a whole bunch of different companies that make them, just like any other computer parts. And people try analysing the spells, there just hasn't been much luck so far."[/color] the cat explained. [color=32127a]"In fact, some people started hiring mercenary groups to go into old ruins and settlements to learn more about old magic, in case that helps."[/color]

"I see then. So your world is just on the verge of scrutinizing this enigmatic part of it. And I would be surprised if there wasn't any scholars studying old magic and how it works. Although I don't know why you would hire mercenaries to dig up ruins. An archaeologist would be a better choice, because then you'd have a better chance of preserving the ruins."

"What else are computers used for on your world?"

[color=32127a]"There's dangerous stuff in those ruins, generally from old magic causing a mess that nobody cleaned up. And computers are used for pretty much anything you can think of. Communications, entertainment, shopping..."[/color]

"Ah okay. So other than magic, do you have people that are biologists, chemists or physicists?"

"I have to agree, you've gone past the stage of pleasantly buzzed,, and into the phase of drunken babbling about things that most cats usually regret... A very dangerous stage for every brotha involved. That's why I try to go straight from pleasantly buzzed, to unpleasantly smashed in the shortest possible time any homie can manage."

"... what?" Anik mumbled in a state of semi-sleep.

"I assume you've seen this before. What can we do?" Robin asked the Comet about Anik.

"Hmmm... Well you recall our earlier talk. They must not have had the resources to study magic's origins. If magic is mercurial where you're from, it might have been hard to nail down a model to describe it."
