Anik held out the orb, for Topaz to take: "Don't damage it."

Topaz quickly snatched the orb from Anik and waited for something magical to happen.

Topaz, upon snatching the orb, would be waiting a long time, since nothing would happen.

EMily materialized Photon, and placed the end of its barrel flush with the surface of the orb. She would find the composition of the orb as well as any changes in atomic structure before Topaz took it.

Topaz got frustrated and shook the orb around a bit. [color=FFCC33]"I think it's broken!"[/color]

[color=66CCFF]"Hmm. Maybe it only responds to organic life?"[/color] Aquamarine theorized.

EMily would detect no changes in the atomic structure of the orb, regardless of who touched it. Additionally, she would find that the orb seemed to be made of a single element, but not one she had ever encountered before.

Shaking the orb would magically cause Topaz to look like an idiot shaking a lump of metal around.

Query sighed, and held out his hand.

"Query: May I try?"

He said, maintaining his Detect Magic spell to see if there was any aura to the magic item, and to make any knowledge about the spell.

Topaz reluctantly held out the orb to Query. [color=FFCC33]"I swear if the robot gets some magic from it and I don't..."[/color]

Robin looked to the Gems. "You aren't machines though." he said to Aqua.

"Well, the atomic structure isn't changing. But it's a single element. Not only that but it's one that isn't found on the current periodic table. This is one heavy element if it hasn't been discovered before." She recorded the atomic data including its lattice structure into her computer, whatever it may be. "Let's see, what should we call it? Ooooh, how about... Celestium, since it comes from the sky?"

OOC: The lattice structure is how atoms are organized. Much like the atoms in a crystal.

"True. I apologise, I'm still trying to understand some things..." Robin had little idea what EMily was geeking out about, but picked up on the "it's all the same material" thing and was happy to see her excited.

"I think I will keep calling it sky metal."

"Sorry, I'm mostly just talking to myself." She giggled. "But now we have a way to identify the metal. It's unique too."

In her notes, she would put:
Based on atomic lattice data, bulk density is 7356.50 kg/m^3. Comparable to Manganese and Tin.

"Good to know. Shall we keep moving to Vala, then? It's not far."

"Sure thing." She said to Anik.

"Query, could I see it after you're done?"

When Query took the orb, nothing would visibly happen. Additionally, there would be no magical aura around the orb.

Anik went east, out of the city, in the direction of Vala. While walking, she would occasionally listen to the surroundings, if there was something like a river in the proximity.
