A young woman appears in the middle of nowhere, her hair slightly singed, a gold crown in her hand- Her outfit, however, appears to be mostly unharmed, besides some soot layering it.

She lets it continue until it stopped.
A cam slowly seemed to materialize next to her.
She takes it, opens it, and silently downs it.
Her thing rings again.
She slips out her Duel Scream, and flips it open.
"Egad?"
"Yes?"
"Remind me to listen to you when you tell me to keep my eyes closed."

She slowly stumbles up, "Out of the castle, into the Dry Dry Desert." she said, looking around.

"BRING ME MY BRIDE!" she could hear him cry.
She was running- Not too uncommon when she was kidnapped (Most of her dresses were designed to be good at running, jumping, mostly fireproof, and capable of having several claws try to rip her open while suffering no damage), but this time? This time she had something to help her escape attempt.
She jumped over the boiling pit of lava, landing on a koopas head, knocking it into the other five koopas that were after her, following it up by using a goomba as a jumping platform to get to a higher ledge, continuing her sprint.
Being kidnapped was a common thing with her, you have to understand- Powerful political figure, woman of great beauty (Or so she was told), pure heart, pure body, you name it, she'd been kidnapped for it- so being able to run was useful in eluding most of the more mundane kidnappers.
Bowser was not a mundane kidnapper.
She watched as the left wall was ripped aside, as Bowser's talons reached out into the hallway to grab her.
"DON'T THINK YOU'LL ESCAPE ME!"
She pulled out the tanooki leaf she stole from one of his minions, as she quickly slid under the arm, crunching it in her hand, and feeling her dress, in mere moments, turn into her Tanooki suit- Which she modified a while back to be more suitable for wearing (Shocking enough- Ermine capes are not that easy to run in).

And that was exactly the problem.
Usually, there was no way she could get out of here without being noticed- This was Bowser's kingdom, and Bowers Keep was bigger than nearly any city in the mushroom kingdom, thanks to his kidnapping of the Sprixies. If she would try to run, there would be literally no hope in the Underwhere for her to get out of there.
However, she, now, had a bit of help.
She heard her double scream ring, quickly flailing it out of her dress pocket.
?WHERE IS IT?!?
?Woa, woa, slow down! Princess, it shouldn?t be far- Just a bit further to a pi-?
Bowser then ripped the lid off of the room she was hiding in.
?GOT TO GO!? she shouted, slamming the Scream shut, watching as a portion of the floor covered in bricks was shattered into a thousand pieces by Bowsers blasts, revealing a warp pipe, which Peach gladfully divided into, hearing bowsers roars in the background.
At the tail end, she flipped open the DS, ?Where now?? she asked, already beginning to go into a sprint.
?Move forward a little bit- And... There! That?s where the portal will show up.?
Peach just pauses.
?Will!??
?H-Hey, the IDTEM can?t have it?s battery at full charge at all times if I want to keep my house not on fire! So just give me fives minutes to charge it u-?
The sound of explosions radiated from behind her, as a squadron of koopas and Goombas charged in.
?Maybe you could have warned me!? she cried, shutting the DS shut, and bracing herself- This wouldn?t be an easy fight.
To begin, she charged one of the koopas, knocking it out of it?s shell, and kicking it into the goomas, following with a tail-swipe to the bullet bill charging at her, backflipping off of another goomba, and stabbing a koopa in the head with her heels. She follows this up by kicking another koopa into another squadron of Goomas, and knocking the block out from under the launcher, firing a ball of lead at the magikoopas that began to swarm in, before stomping on a Boom Boom, using the upward momentum to launch herself at the Parakoopa to knock it into a Koopatrol...
Well, to put it simply, it was a fairly hard battle... Until they began to slowly back away, revealing Bowser Jr on his koopa kart.
?Oh no...? she moaned.
?You, me- FIGHT!? The little koopa yelled at her.
She felt her DS ring, and rapidly flipped it open.
?one minute- When it goes off, keep your eyes closed- Though, if anyone follows you, knock them out, we don?t know what?ll happen if they do.?
Peach shuts the DS, and just looks to Junior.
?I understand you want me back to watch over yo-?
?You?re darn right! So why don?t you just go back to Daddy and do it!? he cries.
Peach sighed. Dealing with any member of the Bowser family was difficult- They were stubborn, and they weren?t that duplicitous. You can?t shame something that has no shame, either- Nor make them feel shame when they keep their working conditions in such a manner that they would be willing to work in.
?How about this- If I beat you, I tell dad where you are, right now. If you beat me- I won?t, and I?ll give you a five minute headstart??
She nodded, ?Okay- But why do you want to fight me?...?
?Isn?t it obvious? It?s practice for Mario! You keep on beating these minions, just like mario does- So might as well do some sparring.?
Peach nodded, slowly walking back.
She closed her eyes, and let her heart rise to the surface.
How does one describe the feeling of brining one?s heart to the surface? It?s like... Riding a rollercoaster, or falling in love for the first time. A feeling in your stomach rises into your chest, and your heart begins to beat. But instead of lingering, it explodes into a fountain of magic, energy, and poise.
She smiled, a very polite smile, and stared Bowsers son in the eye.

Peach continued to walk, idly sipping on her tea rations she had packed for the walk, looking at the sun, worriedly.
Her DS rung again, and she opened it up to see Egad- A look of worry on his face.
?What?s wrong??
?Yeah- I might have made a small mistake when I set the dimensional coordinates to there... You see, the sun appears to be MISSING in the sky- It was there a couple days ago, but it appears to no longer be there.?
Peach just stared at Egad.
?As it is... You?re stranded there. I?ll be able to send you some power-ups occasionally, but I can?t guarantee anything.?

Peach paused... She?s been wanting to try something for a while now. Something mario and Luigi were intimately familiar with...

"Well, guess who's lucky then! I'm Princess Peach Toadstool, from the Mushroom Kingdom," she said, holding out her hand to the Gem, "And I'm here because I'm stuck- My friend, Egadd, teleported me here, and I need the sun to get back- I don't suppose you all have any idea why the sun isn't in the sky, do you?"
She looked at Robin.
"And where is this... Vala?" she asked, looking to the woman carrying the mage, then to the mage. The feeling of awkwardness could practically be felt through the air.
"I'm sorry, but are you two... Something? Did she mind-control you to stay in your arms? Or am I interrupting something more... Intimate."
She looked at Robin.
