"Well, I would not mind going naked, if people would not object to it. But I like to feel beautiful around others, so ... I should say, self-expression is my sole reason for wearing more than scraps." Anik said, feeling her clothes. "I can't see the colors either, Hillary, and I still have lots of fun dressing up. It just feels good, and to get different reactions from different people is also fun. It is weird, but people think different things of you depending on what you wear.
Wait, you don't see colors, but you did before? You did describe your parents this way. That's really weird."

"People never had any trouble expression themselves before the idea of fashion caught on. So it was just linked to wearing clothing, not an intended purpose of it", Timea commented in turn, letting out a nostalgic sigh. "I can agree that it's pleasant to get reactions, however."

Hillary shook her head. "Ya, I haven't seen any colours since I got here. I told Timea about it, and she showed me a bunch, but all of them are grey now..." Hillary reminded Anik.

"But maybe we could try some then, it wouldn't hurt right?" Hillary asked, giggling at first but then quickly slowing down. "It doesn't, does it?"

 

[Silence]

Anik smiled at both Timea and Hillary. "Well, you know it, Timea.
And Hillary, we could sure try some, it wouldn't hurt. It could be really fun! I wonder how you will like wearing them.
I also hope you get the ability to see colors back, soon. Maybe it's linked to you changing into things? Maybe we should try changing you back into slime, some day."

When Robin reached the stables, he would see a number of horses, and a couple of carts. Nearby was a Calibethan man, carrying food to the horses.

If Timea did attempt to smell the Calibethans in Meltha, she would indeed smell the same earthy scent as those in the south.

Rebecca, who had finished disassembling and subsequently reassembling her gun during the night, leaned over the edge of her bed to watch Alain as he prepared to smash the rock. Despite not having slept at all, she wouldn't show any signs of tiredness.

Robin waved to the stable hand. "Hello there! How much for a horse and carriage?"

"But the only slime we got is waaaaay back on that island we started on! And that's not even slime anymore, it's sand." Hillary stated, not aware there might be more slime they could try. Although with her currently carrying the rock bag at this time, turning her to slime would surely make her unable to lift the bag.

"But that might have worked." Hillary said, moving the bag to the other shoulder.

East Northern Road - Day 3 - 8:41​

"Well, Hillary", Timea began, now that her conversation with Anik was concluded. "Trying some clothes on wouldn't be a problem, but I don't think you should ask for any. Remember, you should only ever take what you need, and you don't need any clothing." After saying this, she paused. "As for your colour vision, I'm not sure you'll be able to change back into your original self, while still on this world, but we could try having you touch some other liquid, and see if that makes a difference."

 

[Silence]

When Anik heard Timea say that Hillary should ever only take what she needed, Anik made a silent "Tss.", but kept quiet otherwise. She wanted to suggest the same as Timea had now to Hillary, so she also only listened in this case.

"Well I wouldn't take it Timea, you gotta pay for stuff like that unless you make it or someone gives it to you." Hillary replied back. When suggested to try other liquids, Hillary thought about what other liquids would be like the slime. "That sounds like a good idea though, but what kind of liquids would be like slime for me here?" Hillary asked the two.

Alain did not smash the rock, but instead have it a light tap, shattering te outside and revealing another small, smooth stone inside. It looked like a blank version of one of his runes, but smaller.

Timea noted Anik disapproving, and wasn't surprised by it. She didn't comment on it, however.

"That wasn't my point. Even when paying for it, or being it handed, it's still taking something that you don't need, and by extension, putting a strain on the land that wouldn't be there, otherwise", Timea pointed out. "Just because something is in a store, doesn't mean it didn't come from anywhere. Wool is taken from sheep, silk is taken from certain worms, and cotton is grown on plantations. Often, forests are cut down to make room for the latter. Even if you don't see it happening, it has impact. Think on that."

After saying this, Timea cleared her throat once, and paused a brief moment. "Anyway. Water would be a good place to start, as it would probably be the easiest to find."

Meltha - Day 3 - 13:10​

"It doesn't look like anything you would like, I think. Nor is it anything that's suited for cold climes. It's simple clothes, shirts and pants; cotton, if I'm not mistaken", Timea reported to Anik as she looked to the Melthans move around. She continued moving on, approaching the city gates. Getting in range where she could smell people, Timea noted the scents didn't differ from the southern Calibethians, and went back to wondering why the Melthans differed so.

Approaching the city gate, Timea looked down to Hillary, thinking for a moment. "That... is a good question, Hillary. I suppose it would depend on how I'd want my creations to live."

East Northern Road - Day 3 - 8:41

"The money would not be a problem." Anik said, "I have enough.
But I don't know what liquids we could try. What happens if you touch water? Maybe we could also try marmelade. No, seriously, what kind of liquid is closest to what you were before?"

Meltha - Day 3 - 13:10

"All right, seems like we need to find some kind of specialty shop." Anik said, before using her cane as guidance again, and wandering to the city, approaching someone standing near the entrance again.
"Excuse me, I had a few questions." she said to him/her.

Hillary squinted her eyes as she tried to picture what Timea was saying, although the concepts were a little advanced in some respects for her to get the full scope of the situation. "That's really confusing... If no one buys the clothes, then it would really be wasted?" Hillary tried to rationalize it to herself, although it was apparent she didn't really care much about this particular topic. She was very unlikely to get any clothing anyways, so for her it was more a trinket of anything.

"I haven't tried water yet, there was some where those people on the boat were, but I thought something was bad in it since they weren't going into it either." Hillary stated. "We could try that though." Hillary thought. "It's not quite as... gloopy as slime is though, it splashes too much."

Hillary thought a bit more before an excited look appeared on her face. "OH! What if we wait for it to rain, and then we get all the slime I'd need!?" Hillary exclaimed, feeling this was a wonderful solution.

Hillary would follow along with Timea and Anik as they went to some locals. While she waited while Anik talked to the fellow, she looked up to Timea. "Well... um... what would you think some of the snow people could look like then?"

The stable owner would, much like the innkeeper, begin discussing the particulars of what Robin needed before they came to an agreement on the type of cart, horse and thus the price, which would be easily affordable for the group.

When the group approached the gate, they would be allowed in with no fuss, Meltha being much less restrictive than Vala. The person Anik had approached looked at her, and asked, "What do you want to know?"

"Magic." Alain said as he put the tiny hammer away and grabbed his magic pen thingy. He adjusted a dial on it and pressed it to the surface of the small stone, slowly carving a symbol into it. If Rebecca had good memory, she might recognize the symbol as the same one that was glowing when Alain shot a fireball during his magic demonstration.

Robin gladly played, leading the horse and carriage out. He tried picking up the TARDIS with his hands, so as not to raise suspicion, and load it onto the cart.

Anik was much more cool about the idea of rain. "We did not have rain until now. We could wait a long time for it. Maybe it is better to seek out some river."

"First, is there some shop that sells clothing for a trip into the colder regions of the empire? Not a cheap one, though. And second, this might seem an odd question, but are there Vesh'Rah in this city?" Anik asked the person, curteously smiling. "And last, is there something special about this city?"

Seeing her explanation wasn't fully absorbed by Hillary, Timea opted to explain another time, considering a hiking trip wasn't the best place for a lesson on sociology and environmentalism. "Well, I'll explain more carefully, another time. For now, just keep what I said in mind."

At Hillary's suggestion, Timea gave a small smile. "You want to try becoming mud? Well, we don't need to wait for it to start to rain, for that", she responded, then tapped the side of her mouth with an index finger. "We can make some mud and have you try changing into it, when you've finished your exercise, okay?"

Meltha - Day 3 - 13:11​

Timea stopped just inside Meltha with Hillary, while waiting for Anik to finish talking to the citizen. "Hmm... I think I would give them smaller eyes, to protect them against blizzards. I would also give them sharper vision, to compensate for them being able to see less at once, as a result. I'd make them small, so they don't need to eat a lot, since food is more scarce when it's colder. I'd also give them thick fur, to protect against the cold." After giving her list, Timea was quiet for a bit, and thought what else would be handy to have in a cold climate. Lacking in knowledge on biology, she couldn't think of any else. "And just to do things differently, I'd give them an upper body like yours or mine, but a four-legged lower body, like Mochán's."

After saying this, Timea let out a small chuckle at the mental picture of the creature she had "created". "You can name them! What would you think is a good name~?"

"You don't mean you're gonna throw up on me, are ya?" Hillary asked, overall grossed out by the idea. "And what about the rock I already ate though? We'd need lots of mud then?" Hillary asked, feeling there was a problem there.

"Why hasn't it rained any slime anyways?"

Hillary would have the same reaction to the silliness of this creature. "I think it could be called...." Hillary touched a finger to her chin. "A... um... dddrrr... drr... agg...lan? Draglan?" Hillary suggested, seeming to just put random syllables together.
