"Unless you can separate the light and the parts of me that are still human, there is nothing that can be done. Doing so would likely kill me, anyways..." Madeline explained, turning even darker still.

"I don't mean help as in understanding your physiology. I mean help as in understanding more about what light is and how it behaves. There's a lot more to it than just special effects."

Robin wouldn't feel any sort of magic on EMily in his traditional notion of the meaning.

"Well then, it seems I need to know more about your world to understand. Are there scientists where you're from?"

Robin would find all sorts of magic shizzle, all of the light variety.

"Magic is studied as a science, and we have Magisters in charge of the research. There were about twenty of us last time I checked."

The Doctor went up to the inn the sisters found, Carrying Cybil in his hands. before he went in he told Beak "Stay here. I'll find a warm place for you to stay in."

"ok" Beak replied not wanting to cause any more trouble

The doctor walked in and asked "is there any place that are with warm temperatures"

Utarra Area - Day 5 - 07:24

Timea pulled the blanket away from the meat, and stood up, stepping closer to Anik. "Well, then. Hold back your hair, and lean forward", she instructed. After Anik did so, Timea briefly warned about the incoming water so it wouldn't take Anik by surprise, then pouted her lips, and from her mouth, squirted a stream of water onto her face, doing so for four seconds.

After, she commented on hearing Anik's stomach rumble. "You can help yourself to the meat. There's still enough for all of us to eat from, this morning", she stated, then looked over her shoulder, to Sibylla. "That goes for you, too, Sibylla. Finding out what greeneries we could harvest from the land will have to come, another time."

Robin, knowing nothing of light based magic, took out his tome and scribed all he could glean from his analysis.

"Probably nowhere warm enough for humans." the innkeeper replied. The Doctor would find that the inn wasn't much warmer than the street, also lacking insulation or heating.

"In our city state. It's rather large, a few hundred thousand people." Madeline explained, returning to normal as she calmed down. "Magic is incredibly rare among humans. I'd estimate less than 100 in the Castorlenn have any magical ability at all, let alone enough to make the transformation."

"But wouldn't light be studied outside of magic? Light comes from many sources, from the blackbody radiation of fire to laser beams."

Anik did as told, holding her hair back. Being squirted with water, she wondered how Timea did it, but enjoyed the sensation. When done, she rubbed her cheeks and where else she did feel a rest of blood, only leaving the area below her eyelids, as Timea had said she should-

"Am I clean, now?" Anik asked, leaving words connected to beauty out. Then she said: "Thank you. I did not expect to grow hungry, this fast." With that, she waited for Timea to finish preparing the meat.

"It could, yes. But magic can already do what may take centuries of research." She sighed. "But you're probably going to point out how the research would be beneficial in the long run, or something else. I know, it's a flawed system, and I was one of the few people with power to change it. But it's too late now..."

"You are", Timea confirmed, looking back to Anik. "Well, aside from your blindfold. I'm honestly not sure how you'd clean that, but you at least have the spare, and your veil."

With more water not being needed, Timea stepped back back, moving over to, and picking up her blanket. "Either way, I think you should finish roasting the meat, practice a bit more. And you can dry yourself in the process with the heat."

EMily shook her head.
"I'm sorry but that doesn't make any sense. The only way magic would take much less time to research would be that it's easier to study. What makes light from magic so much easier to study than the light from other sources like the sun? And for that matter, topics in light range in a wealth of subjects. Quantum mechanics and electrodynamics describes how light can be quantified into particles called photons. Thermodynamics can take a system of photons and uses them to create a model for blackbody radiation. And electromagnetism in materials is used to study the bulk properties of optics. But none of that really took centuries. The laws of electromagnetism were uncovered by the efforts of Faraday and Maxwell in the time span of 50 years. And the quantum mechanical effects were also uncovered around the same speed as well, with far more people too. 20 people is enough to cover perhaps a single subject about light. So how long have your scientists been studying light from magic?"

"Right." Anik said, and took off the blindfold she still had had on her forehead. For now, she just shoved it inside a pocket of her coat, and made no attempt to search for her other one, thinking she would have enough time to do so later, when it was needed.

She walked carefully over to Timea. "Shall I create another fire?" she asked, with a doubting look on her face, hoping she would not burn herself when this was not the case, and she should do it with Timea's fire-blanket.
