The healer sat down by a bed, where the guard the group had met by the docks was lying. "I can hear you from here. Can you hear me?" she asked Timea, as she picked up the guard's arm. The healer glanced at Anik's ring, before turning her attention back to the patient. "So, how can I help you?"

Veketta

Robin would find few similarities between his magic and sorcery. Sorcery used no runes, glyphs or other symbols, had no verbal components and did not always require any physical movement. Hand or bodily gestures were often used by sorcerers to aid in guiding or manipulating their spells, though more experienced sorcerers didn't need to do this.

EMily would find that the book began with a statement on the founding of Veketta, claiming it was the spot at which all the clans of Vesh'Rah first met one another. This event occurred a few decades after the Vesh'Rah's existence began, and centuries ago from their current perspective. The next significant event was an attempt at exploring the seas, some time after Veketta was founded.
The ships went missing not long after departure, never making contact with other people, which had been prophesied years beforehand, though nobody realised what the prophecy meant. Some time after that, the Kaisiri ships began exploring the region, eventually landing and making contact.
The war in what would become the Calibethan Empire was mentioned, with the Faotrine regions in the north of the empire being on friendly terms with Vesh before being conquered. The writing on the war ended with mentions of Kaisiri sailors reporting Calibethan ships sinking in the northern seas.

EMily turned back to Robin from the desk, slightly startled at his sudden appearance.

"I can", Timea confirmed, giving a nod. "So, to begin with, I was told the Vesh'Rah were made by the moon Goddess, specifically to combat the Calibethian people. Yet, most Vesh'Rah are incapable of preforming sorcery, unaided", Timea explained, using the word sorcery to avoid confusion. "I would think this is ever the disadvantage. So, do you know why it is so?"

"Take a look at this." She pointed to a passage in the book. "It says here that the Vesh'Rah are only a few centuries old, and not long after that they began their own civilization. Man alive this world evolves quickly. Where I'm from, modern humans didn't appear until hundreds of thousands of years ago, and it wasn't until only 10,000 years ago did civilization start." She rubbed her head a bit.

"It's almost as if... this world was a dream or something. Everything's happening so fast. It's like someone condensed all of history into a 600 years. It makes me wonder..."

She searched if there was any mention of the world being round, or if the people thought that the world was flat.

"Adding to what she is asking: For the few people who use magic, what are the common affinities for Vesh'Rah? Are there people who can create and use water?" Anik said, after Timea had spoken.

Robin took note of the difference in magic, then turned his attention to what EMily pointed out. "How did so many countries rise so quickly?" he asked, half to her and half to himself.

"I don't know why, but it's not a disadvantage. We've gotten by just fine without natural sorcerers." the healer said, as she began cutting into the end of the guard's arm. Her earring began to glow, and a faint blue aura surrounded the wound, not healing the guard but dulling the pain. "I don't think there's any specific affinities that are more common than the others. But, to answer your second question, yes there are water-manipulating sorcerers." The healer then glanced at Sibylla and said, "Either you have no affinity or your affinity isn't observable. You might be a healer, for example, or able to move things with sorcery."

EMily wouldn't find any references to the shape of the world, though she would learn that it hadn't been fully explored.

Utarra Area - Day 5 - 09:26

"Well, good that it's cleared up. Better than learning the hard way, no~?" Timea commented, with some forced, but natural-sounding cheer. "On another note; How... connected are you to your snake friends? I've thought that your ability to sense what's around you is linked to them, for one. Is that about right?"

Watching Makerra cut into the guard, Timea looked on, starting to feel a bit peckish. She was quiet for a moment, her mind wandering to thinking about how Vesh'Rah might taste. Snapping out of this, Timea blinked pronouncedly, then looking up to Makerra. "well... do you know why some Vesh'Rah are born with the ability to preform sorcery, and some are not?"

"Nothing on the shape of the world. What did you find about sorcery here? I assume that's why you came over here."

While the main group was away from Femesh Daer, a number of things would be happening in and around Yeagers workshop. Production had not yet started on the guard robots, but any who came to the warehouse to seek employment would be given a job in one form or another, such as helping with the construction of a wing of the building that expanded over the water, or preparing the various materials and components that would later be used in the robot production.

Any homeless or people without any real social or familial ties would be offered a special job by Yeager, to join the ranks of his Elite Red Eyes. He did not disguise the nature of the job, and they would know that it would be akin to a special forces type of position. If any accepted, they would get the same treatment that his other 8 Red Eyes had received.

Any smelted metal plates that didn't match up to the standards necessary to be used in robot construction would be moved to the city walls, and attached to the stone walls. There would be a few inches of space between the original walls and the metal sections, enough to allow workers access behind them if any pieces would need to be replaced.

"Hmm ... do you know how best to train sorcery? I'm not used to it, I just can create a puddle of water. And ... if it moves through the air, without me touching it, I don't know what it does.
So... is there some trick to it? Are there limits to this sorcery? And ... is it a case of training, or of how much natural talent you have?"
Anik asked, now more comfortable. She hoped the healer had at least an answer for a few of these questions.

"Nothing like what I've seen. There are no runes or incantations, and gestures aren't needed at all among the more powerful sorcerers. I think it's based and shaped purely with internal power, unlike mine which needs runes, chants or ingredients to take shape. I noticed some Sky Metal on the way here, but it wouldn't have amplified my spells." He took the book, opening it on a relevant page and turning it so EMily could read it.

"Completed recording of history. Timeline has been created." Magic Eye said in its heavy metallic tone.

"Have you found anything on the history of sorcery? I've been having a hard time doing so."

"Nothing yet. Hold on..." Robin looked through the book he was currently holding. Seeing the Magic Eye was reading as well, he levitated the holy books he had acquired on their journey out of his pack. "Here. These have the tenets, spells and rituals of the faiths of this world. Perhaps something useful to you." He returned to his own tome.

EMily began reading them.

"What do you make of them? Can you give me a synopsis?"

"I haven't read through them all, but I noticed the spells in them rely on runes and prayer. Also, despite being separate faiths, some of the runes are strikingly similar." He returned to the book he had found, looking for magic history.

"hmmmm, interesting" The Doctor said to robin as he pretended to pay attention.

Beak was sitting outside being extremely bored at the moment.
