Makerra replied, as she began lining the arm up with the incision she had made. "The best way to train is to simply practice. Find your limits and push them until you get better. It's purely an issue of training. As for limits, the only limit is with your ability to control your sorcery. The art itself has no limits, that we know of," she continued, as the blue aura around the guard's arm became stronger. The healer then said to Sibylla, "'Affinity' is basically your personal connection to the art of sorcery. Sorcery can come in various different styles, but each person only has an affinity for one. In my case, it's healing."

One of the priests looked at Broodwing, startled by his sudden arrival. "Um... I suppose so. What would you like to know?"

EMily would find information that Robin might have already mentioned to her in the past [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/540.876555-We-Are-Our-Avatars-X-Open?page=88#22105480], possibly including some things Robin hadn't outright stated.

As Robin read up on the history of sorcery, he would learn that it came to Vesh some time after the foundation of Veketta. Vesh'Rah first discovered sorcery when a star fell near a village, and the metal became hot when the Vesh'Rah that discovered it picked it up. The villagers began experimenting with its effects, which varied from person to person, until they became more skilled.

Utarra Area - Day 5 - 09:26​

"If you can see what they see, why aren't you able to perceive what's on the ground, though? And how can you only sense about an arm's length in front of yourself?" Timea questioned, minding her tone to keep it from sounding like she was berating Sibylla, thinking this would be an easy mistake to make.

Utarra, Clinic - Day 5 - 09:37​

Seeing how Makerra was answering multiple different questions, while also needing to focus on her wor, Timea decided decided to keep quiet for now. While waiting, Timea looked to the guard's arm being healed. If capable of seeing the incision from her position, Timea would look into it, watching the flesh knit together.

Utarra, Clinic - Day 5 - 09:37

"Alright. Thank you." Anik answered, still not really sure what she should do. "Do you, by any chance, know a water sorcerer?" she asked, thinking this might help her more. Not hearing another question from Timea, she added one of her own:
"So ... how do Vesh'Rah fight against sorcerers then? Or are the people who can use sorcery the only ones who fight?"

Robin replayed his discoveries to EMily. "Magic seems to be a very old and strong tradition here..."

"Yes, and although it falls into the quick history theory, its progenitor arrived here by sheer dumb luck. The book you gave me lists three deities, but what about Et? Where does he fall into all of this?"

"We all use sorcery, mostly with sky-metal." Makerra stated.
"And failing that, you can just stab the sorcerer or something." the guard chimed in. "And I don't know of any water sorcerers in the city."

"I've seen a fair amount of humans." the priest replied. "Why do you want to know?"

"What were they looking for?" Broodwing asked as his robot's blocked the exits.

"Nothing about Et. Not in this. Perhaps there's a book here..." Robin started looking through the library's holy texts, if he could find them.

Utarra, Clinic - Day 5 - 09:37

Anik thought for a bit, not knowing more questions about sorcery. Instead, she asked: "I think that's all I can ask about sorcery. Say, does what you are doing here also have a relation to the moon goddess? ... And, do you know of a place in the north that could have a relation to ... a warm bottom, colder top, and has the wind going loudly?"

"What do you mean 'what I'm doing here'?" the healer asked, as the blue aura faded and her earring ceased glowing. The guard moved his metal hand around, then got up and left the building. "And, probably somewhere in the ice fields. Maybe on one of the glaciers, if you're looking for somewhere windy."

"Well, that depends who you're talking about. Like I said, I've seen a fair amount of humans." the priest replied. "Now, I'll ask again, why do you want to know?"

Robin wouldn't find any religious texts in the library, likely due to them being in the shrine.

Utarra, Clinic - Day 5 - 09:39​

Hearing Anik question on the place in the north, Timea raised a scaly eyebrow, wondering why she asked when Timea knew almost certain what place was indicated. Still, she didn't say anything about it, thinking it at least couldn't hurt to double-check.

"I still have more questions on sorcery", she announced after Anik's question would be answered. "Is there any difference between sorcery preformed naturally, and it preformed with skymetal?"

Utarra, Clinic - Day 5 - 09:37

"You're a healer, right? I meant the healing. Is it just sorcery, or does faith play a role in it?

... and alright, just the ice fields then, not a specific place." Anik said.

"Nothing." Robin put the book he had found on sorcery back. "Perhaps if there's a shrine or temple around here, they may house something on Et." he told the Masons.

 

[Drakmorg]

"Oh naw, Ah can't see nuthin' at all." Sibylla began. "And where'd ya'll git that idea? Ah kin sense way further'n that."

Sibylla realized she was just being a nuisance in the conversation and elected not to speak any further.

"It would be nice to get a handle on all the other gods that are present. Et might be in a lower class than the bigger three."

"Oh. No, pure sorcery." Makerra stated, as she walked up to Timea. "Well, natural sorcerers don't need sky-metal, but they can use it to enhance their power. So that's one difference. But other than that, I can't think of any."

"Remember the first time we went to hunt a hare? I pointed one out that wasn't that far away, but you couldn't see it. So I assumed you couldn't "sense" much further than you could reach, see?" Timea explained, drawing closer to Utarra's city limits. "Either way, if not an arm's length, how far can you sense? And why can't you sense anything that's on the ground?"

"I see." Timea was quiet or a moment as she thought things over, then asked, "hmm. A few more questions from me. Where does sky-metal come from?" She had though sky-metal came from meteors, but thought that if many Vesh'Rah used it, that was unlikely.

"Might'a jus' naht been movin'. Ah have an easier time findin' stuff when it's movin'." Sibylla explained. She shrugged at Timea's second real question, saying, "Ah dunno, never really bothered tryna figure out b'fore."

"That would be it. The first time I noticed was when pointing out tracks, and the second the trap. Neither are very prone to moving around", Timea said humorously. "We should check in to the distance you can sense things at, when we're done in Utarra. Until then... ", she added, then paused.

"Say, Anik, do you think you could teach Sibylla your method of finding your way around, at some point?"
