"Thank you." Anik said, understanding that it was spoken jokingly, but nonetheless feeling like it had a lot of truth in it. "A road would be very nice, yes."

"And ... thank you for saying that as well." she added, smiling to herself. "It is kind of annoying having to keep watch like that, but it does really keep us from all surprises. ... And I am much more useful in this way. I never get the feeling that I am a burden to you ... it is something I feared in the beginning."

Glacier - Day 7 - 07:40​

"I can appreciate your want to not mooch off of anyone. There are plenty who'd be happy to just let their weight be carried by someone else", Timea said with a small laugh. She then was quiet for another time, thinking things over. Eventually, after two minutes, she asked, "hmm. I'm unsure about something... . Other than feeling safe, and like you can be yourself without consequence, what do you feel, being travelling with me?

 

[Silence]

Glacier - Day 7 - 07:40

"I could never be that. I had enough feeling useless, and only needing help, in my past. Never again." Anik answered.

After the two minutes, she wanted to respond to Timea's question. Thinking about it and trying to figure out her own feelings about the travels for a time, she finally said:
"I feel more free than ever before. And self-reliant, even though it sounds odd, because you are still helping me. Respected, despite the things I did wrong. And ... I was always trying to be in control. Now that I let some of it go, I actually feel better ... and more in control? That can't be right.
Maybe ... it's more like my control around me is flowing, and I can take it and let it loose on my own terms, instead of me being a brick wall of forced control.

... I don't know if that did make any sense at all. But I think this is the most accurate description. And I feel you made me this way, demanding things from me, and challenging me to things that I thought I would never do."

Glacier - Day 7 - 07:44​

Hearing Anik's answer, Timea was a little taken aback by it, not expecting such a positive response, but happy to hear it. "I'm happy to hear all of that, that you've grow, so", she said, appreciatively.

"But, now; the point behind the question. I'm sure you've sensed I've had a lot of doubt when talking to you. More often than not, a conversation leads me if I should tell you something or not. You see, I was afraid that doing that would make you get too close, and that this, in turn, would push you away. ... Recently, however, I've been wondering if keeping things so impersonal is even necessary. What do you think, yourself? Timea spoke uneasily, not sure if she should do what she was doing.

 

[Silence]

Glacier - Day 7 - 07:44

"I don't know ..." Anik responded. "I ... I do not know how you mean that, me coming too close would push me away.
I would like to know more about you, but it is honest curiosity, and I do not know if it would need to lead to any kind of emotionality. You ... you know a lot about me already.

Say, do you think it led to an increase of trust? Long-term, I mean. Short term you can be taken aback by something. But being accepted and respected, that's what counts, probably."

She paused for a moment, then added, with more confidence:

"I think you know that I would not betray you. And this leads to making the right decisions faster. If you want to strengthen this bond ... companionship, or alliance, whatever you want to call it, maybe you could be more personal ... or at least informative, so I can know how much I can rely on you, and how much you can rely on me."

After this, she was silent for a time, wondering if she had said the right things.

But when you are out in those trenches with men trying to shove their guts back into themselves that you will know who your enemies are, and you will know that all they say about them is true, and you will not hesitate to shoot back. I do not choose who my enemies are related too, or how it affect will the lives of the innocents in their country, but the soldiers, and leaders of that country signed their death warrant the moment they decided to oppose, and attack us!"
Apollo watched as the overwhelmed Robin ran off into the distance! "Now look what you did! You scared him off! He's probably gonna have a... Panic attack or something! Or whatever weak people do when overwhelmed!"

"I'd like that, if only so this mask I'm wearing may become less restrictive", Timea responded after a little thought. "Could this lead to an increase in trust? Possibly. But I'd enjoy being more candid about things."

After speaking, Timea was quiet for a short time, then, more cheery, added, "I'll say it again; I never expected us to get to this. From a great amount of animosity, to coming to enjoy your company. Such twists life has in store~"

"Maybe it's the same thing I meant ... wearing less of a mask, so you can actually control more things ..." Anik said. "I did not expect it either, but then, I did change a lot ..."

She smiled. "Enjoying my company is more than I ever could hope for. Life really has its way sometimes."

After being quiet for a while, she said:
"So ... I have never met someone like you. What you can do and all - it is very impressive. So, if you want to tell me - what are you?"

"Oh! Ja, schematics vould be very nice, thank you." replied Yeager.

Timea opened her beak, about to answered, but kept herself from it, although this time, not due to a lack of trust in Anik, but knowing others were watching. "I'll tell you later, when I can whisper it", she answered. "Remember, there are who-knows how many eyes on us, at any given time. And I don't feel particularly inclined to let this be common knowledge."

"... alright. You are right. ... do you really think they can see us at any time? Or do you mean the goddess?
Because I have not really considered this, and now I am creeped out." Anik said, understanding.

"All parties. Although I wouldn't be very surprised if the deities could pick up on what we might say, even if we do whisper", Timea answered. "As for the motley crew, I do think so. At half they encounters we've had with them, they knew what we had been doing, when nothing was nearby. And, yes. I really do not like this, either."

After saying this, Timea paused. "Speaking of the gods, however; What do you think about what we've learned, here?"

Anik thought for a bit about the situation, furrowing her brow. "Something does not add up. But ... about the gods:
Well, it seems that Et brought us here, but did not care to tell us, at all. That's ... not nice, to say the least. And trying to use us as pawns in some way isn't either. So, I am not really pleased with what we have heard. But I think we have gotten a lot of questions answered. So that is good.
We know how the pantheon of the gods is structured, and that we are not really able to deal with them ... at least the ones responsible for the big conflict, directly. We know how the gods lose and get influence. And with that, power.

Honestly, I am kind of lost to what we should do now. I am not really in the mood for dabbling in politics ... maybe the most corrupt thing of them all. But ... how do we find our way to other worlds? Et did not even tell us what he wanted, Calibeth is dead. What can we do?"

"I don't want to feel like meddling in politics, either. But, I don't think this is the correct path, to begin with. We have reason to believe it wasn't man that brought us here, it thus stands to reason getting involved in such things couldn't get us out, either.

But what we might do, well... I suspect Et is responsible for all this. When I spoke to him, and asked if he could let me travel worlds, the question was practically brushed off, which I found odd at the time. And on two times, he has appeared wearing things that seemed to have come from mine and Mochán's world, respectively. Which is suspicious. And finally, his place in the conflict is... dubious."

 

[Silence]

Glacier - Day 7 - 07:48

"So, if I take this correctly ...
he does not want something from us, but we want something from him. And he was not really honest. So ... how do you think we should approach him, the next time? Because it seems we will meet him, again." Anik said, really wondering if Timea planned to fight, or force a god to do something. Or if she had something else in mind.

"If he is indeed responsible, I doubt it was for nothing. Some benefit has to be had, in some way. As for the approach... it might be best to confront him with these suspicions, and see what comes of it. There's little else we could do", Timea explained, then paused, letting out a small chuckle. "Although I'm sure he's heard this conversation, and knows already.

Before we head back to this village, however, I think we should go speak with Faotar. I want some explanation on what his standing to Calibeth is. And if they're allied, after all, speaking to him may be the next best thing to hearing Calibeth's side of the story."

"I guess we have to try, however unhelpful it will turn out to be." Anik said, not really hopeful. "But yes, I have thought about him as well. After all, Faotar gave me strength. Maybe I can even learn about the nature of this enhancement. Aside from learning about what his stance on all of this is, obviously."

She paused for a bit, then said:
"I want to get back to our 'observers' for a moment. Why are they asking where the triceratops is, if they are able to track us? Maybe they can not look everywhere. Maybe there is something that does give them information about where we are. ... Maybe we can find and destroy it?

... Anyways, that's just speculation. Back to walking again. How long do we need to get back on the road? I'm still anxious."

Glacier - Day 7 - 07:50​

"Hmm. No, I don't think that's quite right. Remember, the third encounter, we weren't asked were Beak is, but rather, you were just asked to kill something. Maybe this quote-on-quote, girl we encounter, is merely after the same thing, but unaffiliated to the others", Timea pointed out, then blew a small sigh. "Well, let's try not to worry about it, too much. Remember, this is a day to unwind~!"

After saying this, Timea began flying a bit faster, but not so much her companions could no longer keep up. "But, yes. Our destination. I think I see something, this may be the village. Let's shake a leg a bit more."

After concluding their talk, and after five more minutes of travel, Timea drew closer to the village Atarakka had pointed to. If there was solid ground that wasn't ice around outside the village, she would land there, revert to her reptillian form, and approach the village.
