"Yes, the city has changed quite a bit. An inventor was sent up here from the south to open up a workshop here, and improve our defenses. If nothing else, these new merchants are offering some interesting tools, and providing decent work for builders and the homeless." the guard replied. "Some people are a little concerned that the military is preparing the city in anticipation of an attack, though. As for news, not much seems to have changed recently other than confirmation that Prince Califorth and the King died, but that none of the other royal family or the royal guard died. Though there are rumours one of them can no longer walk, and that she and another member of the royal guard are both sorcerers."

"Oh oh, I could go and see the city, there's lotsa people in there." Hillary now sitting a bit farther forward. "So ya let's wait for you to bury stuff and then we can go."

If the group arriving in Femesh Daer had gone close to Yeagers workshop on the way in from the ocean, and if any of the passengers had good eyesight, they may have noticed the skeletons of Yeagers incomplete metal ships in dry dock.

Day 7, 23:50, Femesh Daer

Robin had noticed what looked like the hulls of ships as they arrived, adding them to his lost or things to ask about.

Utaranna Area - Day 8 - 14:26​

"We are. It's possible someone might find this spot, of course, but total seclusion isn't what we're after. So, all in all, it's a good place to rest", Timea answered Anik. After her companions answered, she looked back to the hole she was digging. "Okay. Now, if you two could give me a hand, we can get this done faster, and get to entering the city."

Utaranna - Day 8 - 14:48​

After burying her stash of meat, taking some thirty minutes, Timea and her companions entered Utaranna after a twelve minute walk. On the way, Timea had tied the blanket around her waist again.

Inside the city, Timea looked around, taking in the general sounds. While doing so, she announced, "we're here", for Anik's benefit.

[color=9f2089]"Thank you, sir."[/color] Cybil said to the guard. Cybil relayed what she had learned to the Vesh'Rah, wanting them to be informed and also wanting to hear their take on what she had been told.

Hillary as her dirt self would try to help with the digging process, although given her rather soft condition, she wouldn't be much help until she got her hands on a rock to harden herself up.

"Ya ya we did!" Hillary said excitedly, pleased to be see more people around, looking around to see if anyone was doing anything noteworthy.

Utaranna - Day 8 - 14:48

"I have noticed." Anik said, which sounded like she said it with clenched teeth. She was wearing the veil and had taken Hillarys hand, as it helped more than just clicking with little range, and it did not look suspicious.

"I think I can smell the sea. We are looking for ships, right?" she asked, while taking in the sounds and smells of the city as well.

Meanwhile, she was also reading the hearts of the people around them, what their general mood was, and if she herself was raising any suspicions.

"That's the main reason behind coming here, yes", Timea confirmed. "Are you doing well, though, Anik?" she asked, not long after, picking up on the peculiar way Anik sounded. "You sound as though you're having problems."

"It's ... just a lot of people, that is all. I will be able to deal with it for now." Anik said, trying to sound less strained. "You see anything interesting?" she asked Hillary and Timea.

"Some of that sounds concerning... I hope they're not intending to attack Vesh." one of the diplomats replied. "And this workshop... I wonder if it has any connection to the weapons your companions mentioned."

Utaranna - Day 8 - 14:48

When Timea, Anik and Hillary approached Utaranna, a pair of guards outside of the city blocked the way. "What business do you have in the city?" one asked, while the other audibly sniffed the air near Anik.

Anik would sense the general mood was quite fearful, and this would include the guard that was sniffing her.

Utaranna - Day 8 - 14:48​

"This is a port, yes? We're looking for passage into Calibeth", Timea responded to the guards, seeing no reason to lie.

She noticed one of the guards sniffing the air, and with where their eyes pointed, assumed was sniffing Anik, but didn't say anything about it, not going to bring anything up if it wasn't asked about.

Utaranna - Day 8 - 14:48

Anik stiffened a little, squeezing Hillarys hand slightly, when she heard the sniffing. Well, I should not smell like Calibetheans, or even Kaisiri, so he will hopefully stop soon enough. she thought, as she let Timea do the talking.

Anik would smell a little bit after the earth they had dug in, but more of sweat and blood, everything that she had touched in the last two days. Her own smell was more that of a normal human, flesh-like, for lack of a better word.

Hillary's stony hand would be like trying to squeeze a statue, so she wouldn't really notice the increased pressure all that well. Regardless she'd look from one guard to the other wondering what they wanted. Hillary would smell like... well like a rock, that wondrous rocky smell of rocks that... rocks.

Fermesh Daer - Day 7 - 25:35

[color=9f2089]"Considering we know for sure they're having to deal with a change in leadership, I doubt they're planning on attacking soon."[/color] Cybil replied to the diplomat. [color=9f2089]"But... Just in case, we should probably hurry along."[/color] She started to leave the city, and unless anything stopped her, would do so and head wherever the diplomats directed her.

"I hope you're right." the diplomat replied, as the group moved through the city.

Since Anik didn't smell like a Calibethan, the guard normally would have simply shrugged it off. However, Hillary, on the other hand, did, which made him tense up. The other guard responded to Timea, stating, "Go to Utarra, then. We don't have ships heading to the Calibethan Empire."

"I see", Timea said, feeling annoyed to have come for nothing, even if she half expected it. "Hmm. Are there any ships sailing to the Kaisiri islands, instead? That would do, too."

Anik waited for Timea to continue, realizing that one guard was getting suspicious for some reason.

For a moment, she thought about staying quiet, but her curiosity got the better of her.
"Is there something going on around here? You seem to be quite suspicious of outsiders." she said.
