"But... but... harumph! You've made an enemy, mister!" Topaz said, crossing his arms and scowling at Jack. "I don't like liars! [sub][sub]Even though I do it a lot...[/sub][/sub]"

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to dredge up bad memories. Are you alright?" Robin apologised. He looked over he shoulder at the young solider. "What was that?"

"Of course I'm alright. I have to be." Aqua said. "What about yourself, human? Or should I call you Robin? It's not rude to call a human their name, is it?"

Honest Jack gave a grin to Topaz. "No hard feelings boss. Everybody wants to rain on someone else's parade on occasion." Jack sat down with his back leaning against his motorcycle, and dug out a harmonica. He absentmindedly played, a tune of wistful long notes that seemed to echo through the air. Those with delicate skin might feel like the air just got a little sandier.

Robin looked back at Aqua. "Calling a human by their name is usually the best thing to do. And I will tell you about myself as soon as I remember anything about myself."

"Uh huh. But I won't forget this! Probably! Actually I probably will!" Topaz threatened, then went back to Robin and Aqua.

"You don't remember anything? Your lives are so short already, but to lose memory of what you do have is just terrible. I'm sorry."

"I bet you've been talking about me, huh? I know I'm such an interesting guy, I don't blame ya." He said to Robin.

"Thank you." Robin said with a small nod, then looked at Topaz. "Correct. I apologise for discussing you behind your back."

"WHere's my foxhole...?" the boy said as he continued to look around, growing more and more confused.

"Yeah, I'm- wait, you actually were? That's awesome! Oh, what did you say about me? Impressed by my speed? My cleverness? Or maybe just my dashing good looks?"

"Please don't feed his ego."

Robin decided to leave Topaz be, looking to the confused soldier boy. "I don't think there are any foxes here. Perhaps ask one of the locals."

Heno had been sitting thoughtfully on his rock staring into the distance not seeming to notice the conversation going around him. He seemed to snap out of his funk when he heard the music Jack played. He looked around at everyone and said "Guys! Where are we going to sleep, and what about eating? I only have one hundred silver coins because I spent rest of money on new teachings from martial arts masters.

"Locals...which town were we stationed in again?" he asked, seemingly slow on the uptake.

"I don't know."

Jack looked up from his harmonica playing. "We're in Kairisi lands. If that's any help." he called to the confused soldier.

That didn't help. It only made his confusion worse. "Who...are you people?" he asked. These clearly were not Squad 7.

Jack grinned, and blew a bit more on his harmonica. "Welcome to our merry band of outlaws. We're a group of folks who got dumped in this quaint little fishing village for Ormagöden knows why. My best guess is you got caught napping. So you'll be stuck here with us for a bit."

Honest Jack glanced over to Heno. "No worries my crime fighting friend, the ground and our clothes will make fine bedding for the night if we truly tire."

The boy did not find comfort in Jack's explanation. He scratches at his head, trying to make heads or tails of the situation.

 

[Demonjazz]

"I do not know, piloting friend. People do not often appreciate you sleeping in the middle of town. I know from experience. And that still does not answer question about food. It seems to me that I will not get much money from fighting crime here, and the silver can only last so long."

 

[FPSfanatic]

"ayup, that's generally a challenge. What me and my folks did was travel with exotic goods and sold them to the locals we visited. Guess I'll get back in that business here." Honest Jack suggested. He looked over to the boy. "I don't suppose you have experience in any of them fancy work environments do ya?"
