Feeling a little heartbroken that Kuki would be leaving so soon, Shana followed Kuki towards Anik. She felt that she could probably donate her DNA under the circumstances.

Ella hummed, then asked; "Do you know the limits of her abilities? Does she need line of sight or anything like that? What about their regular soldiers? How many could they muster at such short notice, and how well-armoured are they? Medieval armour from our world doesn't stand a chance against modern firearms." In her head, she started thinking what resources could be pulled in. We could get at least one more ETR squad, maybe two. How many agents? Maybe six to ten in total? The Canadians could call in a few hundred elite cops, possibly even a few APCs, and there are thousands of regular cops in the city. The big question is if the military is called in. If they are, well, that's a whole 'nother level of crazy.

"Good to hear." Candace told Nina. "Do you want anything?"

Kuki would allow Anik to feel their fur, for a moment, lightly rubbing their head against her hands.

"I hope all this can be settled, and that you can make your amends for what has been done, in a way that's fair to everyone."

The spybot that was flying low landed on the ground a few paces away gathered outside the prison, then began moving closer over the ground. The one flying high moved closer to the Skyranger, a couple of metres away, and roughly four metres up. If the hatch leading into the aircraft was open, the spybot would try and get a shot of those inside.

Anik was feeling better, being able to feel Kuki's fur. "I hope so too ...
It's weird, though. Do you know why I get transferred to a different prison?"

She needs line of sight for some of her abilities yes, but she can look through the eyes of her illusions.

As for how many soldiers: A lot. Several thousands. But! ... and that's our advantage ... they all would need to come through this one portal. So stopping them should not be too difficult, actually. As for the armour, that depends. Heavy Plate would hold off bullets, and magically inforced armour, too. Other than that, lots of the soldiers would not stand much chance, but I doubt they would be the first to come through the portal.[/color]

[color=e50000]Like I said, defeating Blue and closing the portal would be the best shot. But she can already create, I don't know, about 10 water-based illusions, and an unlimited amount of hallucinations."[/color]

Ella thought for a while, then said; "How about a long-range attack? A sniper shot or maybe even some kind of explosive. Taking her alive seems like a fool's errand. How long would you need to close the portal?"

While the ramp was open, the spybot could not see anyone inside unless it came down under the tail of the craft, roughly three meters from the ground. If it did, it would see Black sitting inside along with two troopers. The lieutenant, standing outside, would hear the buzz of the spybot and looked around. He frowned, as flies were not usually around this time of year.

 

[Silence]

[color=e50000]"Not sure how that would work. I don't think Blue will leave the portal station a lot, and if she leaves, she will take precautions. It's not really possible to shoot long-range inside the station.
Same thing with the explosive: Setting it up without her noticing might be impossible. And you don't really want to burn down the whole station, right?"[/color]

"There is a sort of missile called bunker-busters. XPOL doesn't have 'em, but the Canadian military does. They are designed to break through a thick surface - like the roof of a bunker - and then explode inside. It'd cause a lot of damage to the portal station, but that could be minimized by choosing a weaker warhead. Alternatively, there are high-calibre sniper rifles that can kill somebody through a wall. We know where she is as well, thanks to the CCTV system of the portal station."

 

[Silence]

[color=e50000]"Well ... you could try it, but how do you know it's not one of her illusions sitting there, not herself?"[/color]

 

[Kirke]

"We wouldn't. So what do you suggest we do? If she can control the water in our bodies, wouldn't a direct assault fail? Hell, couldn't she just blow our brains out that way?"

 

[Silence]

[color=e50000]"She might only be able to control the blood of one powerful being. Like Dalahar, or the vampire. And then I saw a psychic fight. A kid, but he could hold his own. And he did not use magic - he could be able to fight her that way. Or he might find out if it's an illusion or not.

And I just thought of another possibility, but I do not know if it would be viable to you: You could distract her, lead her out of the portal room in some way. Then I could close the portal without a fight. But ... well, you would need to be very good at diplomacy, and be able to mislead your thoughts in some way, so she could not read your true intentions."[/color]

 

[Kirke]

"Dalahar has left, he turned in his weapons and we allowed him to walk free in return. And the vampire... I don't know what the hell is up with her, last I saw she was crying her eyes out in the hotel. She's supposed to be in prison for killing Green. And you seriously want to bring a kid into a fight? He's talented, sure, but he's just a kid." - Ella sighed, then added; "And as for me, I'm to escort Anik and Black to prison, then I'm probably getting reassigned."

"I don't. Probably nothing good"

, Kuki answered.

"Anyway, I should probably be going. Give my regards to Good luck! Fernand, if you see him again!"

Noting the hatch was open, the spybot would try and fly inside. If it got in, it wouldn't go very far into the Skyranger, however. Instead it move move in a small arc to get a shot of those inside, then fly out again.

While Kuki was saying their goodbyes to Anik, a small portal opened up on Rue de Sebastopol, the Watcher that had been dispatched to the park, earlier, coming through. It moved its way over towards the portal station, moving in range where it could catch the signals being send out from the station, soon.

"Madam ambassador, we may have a problem", the representative said to Blue.

"Sure, I will do that!" Anik said and smiled. "Fernand came to visit me, so I sure will meet him again. He's really nice ... anyways, goodbye! And I wish you luck in your research."

You, or someone else, should decide how to try to fight or trick Blue. I can just give suggestions. It's not my right to order you to do anything."[/color] Dala said, and thought for a second. She then added: [color=e50000]"Do you at least watch over Dalahar? He hardly needed any weapons when he turned into a demon. He knows nothing but war. You should really be careful about how you handle him."[/color]

As the spybot flew past him, the lieutenant shot out his hand to try and catch it.

Setting down Kuki, Ella placed her hand on Anik's shoulder; "Alright, let's get going, shall we?" She led Anik towards the Skyranger.

Ella sighed; "It wont be pretty, whatever we do. Although..." - She paused, then continued; "How about a fire-bomb in the portal room? Could you get in there then, and close down the portal? As for Dalahar, well, I'd bet there is a spy-satellite or something trained on him. But he actually seems to have a pretty good grip on his demon side, at least when he isn't in combat. Keeping him under close watch would be a constant reminder that he's a threat, which might make him more hostile. Besides, we're not even sure if our weapons could put him down."

Dalahars journey, Day 1, noon, 138 road, north east bound

Having reached open country he ha broke out into a run to cover ground fast. Running alongside the road, around 250yards away as to not have his loping stomps shake cars off the road. The size of his strides and power behind him allowing him to reach full speed. Astartes rarely moved at more than a jog or short sprint on the battlefield. Astartes could double time for long distances at a stretch, for sudden redeployments or lightening raids. It burned them out however, even their constitution straining with Herculean effort, an astartes could only double time for about a day or two, whereas they could full March for months without pause. On often overlooked ability in the legions due to armoured support and usual deployment from low orbit via Stormbirds or drop pods.

He had some second thoughts but had quelled them. Any form of remorse for his actions or longing for those he left behind were quickly swept away. Montreal was a city, astartes don't go to cities unless they were in flames or a charnel house of death. If they were besieged by xenos they would
Arrive to form a wall. A wall. Not a part of the city. Around it. It was the nature or astartes that they could never be a part of what they had won, what they had protected.'

"Thanks! Good luck to you, too!"

Once they were put down, Kuki moved a couple of steps, calling out,

"good bye!"

They looked at Anik for a moment longer as she was being taken away, then looked up to Shana.

"So, I guess I'll make that call now. Thanks for coming along, by the way."

If the lieutenant had the reflexes to snatch the tiny object out of the air, he might hear a small cracking noise, the spybot breaking in his grip.

"He have reason to believe Anik is being taken into XPOL custody", the representative stated, speaking more with a sense of urgency. "Sort, oval face, very long wavy, auburn hair, wears a blindfold. Does this match the description of Anik?"

Dala put her foot on her face, imitating a facepalm. [color=e50000]"You know he's not only a danger because of himself, right? Everybody will try to get some of his tech or his weapons. It's why you normally don't let people leave there worlds. The balance gets thrown way off.
Let's hope your satellite helps a little bit, at least.

As for your idea: How does a fire bomb work, exactly?
I could step through it, but it sounds like it is prevented from exploding with water, too. That would mean it would be pretty useless."[/color]

"She's still in handcuffs and the prison uniform. At the least, she is being moved. In the least favourable scenario, it's to a secret facility. This makes extraction considerably more difficult in all regards", the representative explained. "More worrying, however, is the potential of a counter-offensive. Both our parties have given... reasonable cause for concern."

The rep paused, then took a breath, before speaking again. "We believe it would be prudent to prepare for the possibility."
