Shana was still listening to her music.

"So are you a vigilante, Sarah? Or are you commissioned to fight crime?"

[color=99d039]"Well ... I have time enough, but I'm not doing the heroics full-time. My friend does more of it ..."[/color] Sarah answered Reinhardt.

[color=99d039]"I'm ... a vigilante. Kind of, at least. I'm not going against the police or the judicial system."[/color] she said to Shana.

"So was your money inherited?"

 

[Silence]

Sarah blushed a bit, not feeling too proud of it.

"Yes. I haven't used it in a while."
"There's more people like you?" Reinhardt asked.

"Well, must be nice." I say in a mock grouchy tone. I even slouch back in the truck bed for effect.

"So if you don't mind me asking, where did you get the idea of using the money to become a vigilante?"

She's also behind the idea ... at least kind of, of using the money. I helped her build what she wanted, and then she started this - then I joined her.

And ... it's complicated. My friend does not trust the police anymore, so I'm not joining them either. I mean, they are not very effective in more complicated issues."[/color]

"Good on your friend for starting this. And there are some things the regular forces can't deal with..."

"I was joking, don't worry." I say to Lambda with a wink.

"Sometimes more personnel and funding only make organisations more bloated and slow to act. Smaller can be better." I say to the vampire.

 

[Silence]

[color=99d039]"That is true."[/color] Sarah said to Reinhardt. To Zev: [color=99d039]"Because the effectiveness is not the problem. The police can get to the ones it is allowed to.

But if someone is bribed and does not give the order to go after someone ... the police can not do anything.
And well, being small and relatively unknown is good, too."[/color]

 

[Slenn]

"Smaller may be better. But a person fighting crime without the authorization is at great risk. And at some point you'll have to be a little less unknown to make people trust you in the niche situations you are positing to us. But I'm sure you're already aware of this, Sarah."

"...alright..." Lambda said, slightly confused.
"Well, you do have to be careful." Reinhardt admitted to Sarah. "But sometimes, someone has to step up. The world can always use more heroes." He smiled at Sarah behind his helmet.

"Sorry, my sarcasm can be pretty subtle."
