"Fair enough. Yes, we can do that." Robin said, as they walked out of the room. "Hmm ... want to see the kitchen? I don't usually have guests, so I'm not sure what to show you."

"And let them risk destroying themselves?"

 

[Silence]

Anik, not feeling too safe, and not liking imprisonment, went up and down the prison cell, and sometimes walked to the desk, reading some text.

Portal Room

"Invisibility devices. Can you bring them onto the astral plane?" Blue asked Yauna.

 

[ShindoL Shill]

Portal Room

"It's the ethereal plane, not the astral plane. And yes, as long as people are carrying them."

 

[Silence]

"Then we should get them before heading inside." Blue said.

In the throne room, the illusion contacted Forefront.

 

[Drakmorg]

"Yeah, that's fine." Nina was deep in thought and only halfway paying attention.

 

[Chungus]

Forefront HQ​

Noting Blue calling, the representative picked up. "Madam ambassador. I didn't expect to hear from you again, so soon.

Is there a problem?"

 

[Silence]

Otherworld

Robin, picking up on Nina not being in the mood to talk, led her around the keep, showing her some things, like the kitchen, stables with mutant animals, and a garden. They did not say much.

Throne Room

"No, no problem. I just thought it might be useful to request these invisibility devices - we know of cameras in Anik's prison cell."

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"What exactly are you suggesting?" Candace asked.

 

[Chungus]

Forefront HQ​

"One moment, madam. I'll connect you to our coordinator for this."

Seventy seconds of silence followed, after which Heshnin's voice could be heard on the line. "Hello", she began. "I've received your request. How many people do you need being cloaked?"

 

[Silence]

Throne Room

"We need three people ... no, four people cloaked, it might be useful to cloak Anik as well."

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Well, that's not very glorious, is it?"

 

[Drakmorg]

Nina followed along and commented on the tour as best as she could, but it was clear her mind was elsewhere. [color=ff9966]"Can we go talk to the Planeswalker now?"[/color] She asked as the tour concluded. [color=ff9966] "I think it's probably best if I leave as soon as possible."[/color]

 

[Chungus]

"I'm afraid reserving one for the target wouldn't be practical, since the device will need to be fitted onto the user, like a suit. I'll have three units delivered, however.

Would these be anything else?"

 

[Silence]

"Alright." Robin said, and led Nina further into the keep. "But don't feel bad, you could never do as much harm to this place as there already was." they said, somberly. "Leaving is your own choice, only. Not that I can blame you for wanting to leave."

After a bit of time, they arrived in a room which looked like a small throne room, but had a lot of mirrors in it. In each and everyone of them, better places could be seen.

A male in blue robes sat on a simple throne, inspecting some of the mirrors carefully.

"Go, talk to him." Robin said.

Throne Room

"Full body suits? Well, that's annoying. But fair enough. This is all, thank you."

 

[Chungus]

Forefront HQ​

"Well, I guess calling it a harness would be more accurate. But the point still stands. Whoever will be putting these on might have to get a change of clothes, too. Since loose-fitting clothing will disrupt the effect.

Anyway. I've understood you want to keep our portal capabilities secret from your associate. Sending them with this arrangement would be... difficult. Do you have any suggestions for that, or should we just do away with this secret?"

 

[Silence]

"Oh, damn this. Far too complicated.
Anyways, how about you just make the portal to here, and give me the devices? Yauna is beyond the portal already, she would not know wheere it came from. And if she did, it probably does not matter too much either."

 

[Chungus]

Forefront HQ​

"Acknowledged. The devices will be delivered within the next ten minutes. I'll hear if there are any problems. Goodbye." With this said, Heshnin hung up.

Throne room, otherworld​

Seven minutes after the call, a Forefront portal opened up. Through up, walked to men, carrying three exoskeletons between them. They didn't struggle carrying the devices, showing them to be lightweight. The adjustable frames had a battery back on the back, a bracer with a series of labelled buttons for controls on the left arm, and a goggled cap.

Setting the frames down, one of the two men left, after the other gave a brief explanation on how to put the frame on and adjust for size, then explained how to operate it. Operating the device was simple, consisting of pressing the on/off button, then pressing the corresponding button for whichever part of the spectrum should be filtered out. He suggested visible light and IR should be filtered out, as these were most likely to be used.

Doing this, the user would see in UV light through the goggles, resulting in black-and-white sight, albeit with light and dark distributed in unexpected ways.

After giving the explanation, the second man left, as well, the portal closing behind him.

"Well... I need to find and do something impressive, to show them I'm still a good part of the family. I can't just take other people's rubbish."

 

[Silence]

Blue waved some guards closer, ordering them to bring the suits through the portal, into the portal room on earth.

"If we put these on, we will be invisible. You might want to change into tighter clothing, though." Blue said to Yauna. She explained how the suits worked. "Then we would be ready - you put us in the ethereal plane, the mage teleports us to Anik, we grab her and teleport back."
