If it were me, I would legalize pretty much anything that wasn't poison and transfer half the money we spend throwing young pot heads in prison (still a very sizable amount) to rehab programs and awareness campaigns. I take the other half of the money and see what we could do about the 13 trillion dollars (and growing) debt.
I would also either make the drug age 18 or the voting age 21. You're either a fully capable, decision making adult or you aren't! The idea that at eighteen you're fully capable of voting for a president, getting drafted into a war, losing your arm in said war, coming back and buying an apartment, get prosecuted for not paying your taxes;
but your not mature enough to consume alcohol really irritates me.
But then again I'm a libertarian so ... what can I say?
