Weirdest/Stupidest Reason A Relationship Ended

Hmm, I ended up breaking up with my first (and so far only) girlfriend because we lived too far apart. She lives in Scotland, I lived in the West Midlands (so basically, near the centre of England). We'd first met when we bumped into each other in Wales and got talking, but roughly a 300 mile gap means that we can't really see each other often, so I ended it (I regret to say by text) a few months later. Saddest thing is that I think she still has feelings for me, and I know I do for her, but every time I try and get us back together something intervenes. I live in Leeds now (northern England), so a lot closer, but when she tried to visit me at university she was prevented by her parents (I think it was because I'm 3 years older than her), and she'd be staying for the weekend. Kind of upsetting and also confusing, since I think I'm falling in love with a redhead friend of mine who lives in the flat four floors below mine, and I basically have a very messed up and complicated love life...

EDIT:

I wasn't "Edward" enough for her.

But hey, now my current girlfriend and I have fun making fun of people like that. So it's all good XD
I hope you're not talking about Twilight.
You ever heard of any other "Edward" that girls obssess over?

I don't have a serious problem with Twilight, though. Just the fantards like my ex.
Don't worry, Twilight fans don't like the 'fantards' either. I'm a Twilight fan in that I liked the books and film enough to be able to get over the Mary-Sueness of the characters and the 'sparkly' thing, but I hate any screaming fangirls, and so do other people I know who liked Twilight. If I was you I'd probably hate your ex as well (though mainly the 'ex' part, if she broke up with you...).

Long story short, I got the last word in and am the one that officially said its over, so I won ;P

There was literally one month of a bunch of BS and then one day I suddenly just said "what the fuck?" and told her it was over. I'm really proud of the fact that I was over her after such a short time, too... she was my first girlfriend. I was always afraid I'd take the first break up badly.

I guess having her be batshit insane helps a bit XD

One of my friends had a girlfriend for a while, and then one day she just started avoiding him because she was afraid he was going to break up with her. Rather counter-intuitive if you asked me since that's why he broke up with her.

My brother got dumped because the relationship "lasted too long".
Your brother should stop dating slutty ladies/dudes.

How...pointless...of her...

Not me personally, but a few mates of mine...
Him: "I knew you didn't like my hair that long, so I got it cut!"
Her: "You got a haircut without talking to me about it?!"
Him: "It's just a haircut..."
Her: "That's it, we're finished!"
That reminds me of a comic I occasionally read, actually.

Aha! I got dumped yesterday for what i can claim as the stupidest reason by far.
Because i didn't want to watch my girlfriend smoking. Its not an attractive sight.
She text me to let me know it was over.
Not many people look good when they smoke, no.
Texting someone to break up is becoming too common, incidentally. That needs to stop.

Because I liked portal and thought it was the best from the orange box, but she thought half-life was and we all can see where this is going.
Oh man. I guess you're just lucky it didn't come to blows, eh? That's pretty extreme!
1 liner comments enough, geez, the nice thing to do after commenting and just about laughing at every one's break up stories you should say one your self.

1. INDEPENDENCE! Seriously, WTF?
2. Want to go out with someone else (whos a complete cocky jackass)

The others were more sensible reasons.

I don't really have any silly break up stories, which is kind of why I didn't say anything.
But there was a girl who liked me, and whose parents liked me, until they found out I wasn't devoutly religious. Then she wasn't allowed to date me. Not as stupid as some of the reasons here, but pretty stupid, I guess?
She wasn't that interesting anyway.
But are you satisfied, is the question?
i suppose so, i guess its my turn to pipe up a silly break up story....mmmmh so many to chose from.....umm ok here's one.
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, i was dumped by a girl of course because she wanted to know how being a lesbian felt like. So a day after the break up she dated her best friend got her taste of lesbianism she wanted came back with me, which i don't know why i did then she broke up with me because she wanted to stay lesbian....

My first girlfriend dumped me because I gave her her first kiss in McDonald's, next to the playground.

Ahh, early high school.

Well my ladyfriend thought 28 Days Later was sexist rather than realistic, and she dumped me because I disagreed.

Surprisingly enough... she isn't addicted. She doesn't smoke every day, just when she feels like.

For some strange reason, I thought of Edward Elric... I didn't even think of Edward from Twilight (un)popularity before you said it.

Sooooo... she dumped you because you did to her what every other boyfriend does to every other girlfriend, and vice versa? Isn't kissing someone the sort of thing you do in a relationship, among other things?
