D&D, Final Fantasy and Silent Hill, they all are full of the strangest goddamn creatures you don´t even want to dream about. Many have already been mentioned, but Zeromus (FFIV) and ExDeath´s (FFV) final form are still missing here. Oh, and some game I can´t recall, had this hilarious beholder that shot laser beams; a space beholder, you might say.

I may sound stupid but Hypno from pokemon scared the shit out of me when I was little. I read the backstory on all the pokemon and believe me, a creepy looking hypnotist wandering into your houses at night was horrifying! My older cousin would torment me by coming into my house at night and yelling HYPPPNNOOOOO

While not technically monsters, I'd have to say God Hand had some of the most "WTF" boss battles:

Q&A: two very large, disturbingly flamboyant gay men in Brazilian Carnival getups, whose main attacks consist of pelvic thrusts, crotch grabs and ramming you with their asses.

The Gorilla: A Mexican masked wrestler who happens to be a gorilla. He takes the bus everywhere he goes.

The Mad Midget Five: exactly like the power rangers except they're based on playing card suits instead of prehistoric animals... and they're midgets... and possibly mentally retarded.
