Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week, and the week after that and the week after that an_ you get the picture. I made that sheet after wading through an ocean of homework so I was unsure if my immense rage had affected the quality of the work but it seems everything is in order then.

Name: Sofia Montesino
Gender: Female
Age/Grade: 15 Freshman
Plate Level: Red Iron
Favorite Magics: Doppelganger: An illusion that allows the user to take the form of any object or person. To recreate the target properly, it must be something they can either see or are very familiar with.

Clear Clean: An invisibility illusion spell.

Shadow Bind: Restricts the movements of a person whose shadow touches the user's shadow.

Appearance: Sofia's Italian heritage is apparent in her darker skin tone. She's a little short at 5"4 and has a rather slender figure, though she has been gaining some weight recently. She has blue eyes and long black hair that she usually keeps tied in a ponytail. Nowadays, she likes to dress fairly casually usually wearing jeans and a plain t-shirt or sweatshirt depending on the weather. She always wears a pair of ruby earrings that were a gift from her older brother.

Background: Sofia was born in beautiful Venice, Italy and lived there for the first 12 years of her life. Her father works as a marketing executive for an suit manufacturer. The family was forced to move to Florida when he received a big promotion and was chosen to head an American branch of the company right around when Sofia was supposed to begin attending middle school. Although at first she wasn't too happy about moving to a foreign country away from everyone she knew, her older brother was there to cheer her up.

From there, things started going much better for her. Her good looks and friendly personality made her very popular amongst her new classmates, her grades were above average and she even managed to get on the school soccer team. On her birthday that year, her brother bought her a pair of beautiful ruby earrings to celebrate how well she was doing. She felt like she was living a perfect life. And then that good old school drama that we all know and loved had to go and happen. She had no idea where it started. A boy who asked her out but got turned down? Her father and brother were both very overprotective and would never allow such a thing. A girl jealous of her popularity, or upset because she felt Sofia snubbed her? It was impossible to tell who had started it all, but before she knew it there were all sorts of nasty rumors going around about her, from her bad mouthing friends behind their backs to cheating on tests to juggling 11 different boyfriends. And even though none of it was remotely true, even her closest friends began to turn on her. Crushed by the horrible betrayal, Sofia sunk into a depression. Her grades suffered and eventually she just stopped going. Her family asked what was wrong and did their best to help, but Sofia couldn't bear to tell them how miserably she had failed. Left with no choice, when the time came for her to start high school her family chose to send her to Cascade High in hopes that a fresh start would help her. Sofia was also glad for the chance to start over and applied herself to the entrance exam and interview with everything she had. She was accepted and that cheered her up a bit, but she's still hurting and will continue to do so until something or someone can snap her out of it.
Relationships: Open.

Alright, here's my sheet. Let me know what you think, and I'll make any changes as necessary.

Yay! I now have 3 sheets! You're accepted! Also, on a more personal note...
Sweet! Someone used the sample magic! The combination you chose could be scary, if done correctly, by the way.

Eh, it's not much more than the usual CS once you realize half of it is one or two word answers. That, and I want everyone, even the horribly unimaginative, to be able to envision any character in this RP as a real person. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to your sheet!

Just started reading Mx0 and I'm really enjoying it, I hope people can get their sheets in because I'm even more interested in this rp than before now that I've started reading.

Isn't it good? I've PM'ed a few RP'ers. Fishtie is working on one (I think), Korten12 promised me his by the end of tonight, and revolverwolf promised me his by Labor Day. (Did you see that, rw? Didja? I got your gender right! Aren't you happy?[/screwin' with you])

I've got most of the OP written (and you guys thought I was a lazy GM!), and want to get those three sheets in before we start. I don't really have to worry about dropouts with the Players I have, but if y'all would be so kind as to tell friends about this RP, the more the merrier! With any luck, we should be startin' by Labor Day. I also recommend all of you to read Mx0. You'll be able to understand the RP just fine without doing so, but it is an incredible manga in its own right. The ending is a bit lackluster, and leaves some loose ends, but this is because it ended early due to waning appeal in Japan, despite millions of western fans. And so Jump discontinued the manga.

Yeah I'm really enjoying it so far, the system is a bit easier to follow now that I've seen it in the manga. Is the rp starting out at the first day of a new year or are we just jumping in mid-flow? I understand our recruitment to the MEC is probably going to be an important plot point.

The opening post is quite literally y'all filtering into the doorways of Cascade for the first time (in your lives, seeing as everyone seems to be a freshman) and while I don't want to give too much away, I have plenty of things for y'all t' do before the MEC. I will leave you this spoiler though: you will all have a hellishly difficult trial, compared to Taiga.

The escapist has been acting weird lately, my inbox told me I'd been quoted but when I clicked on show post it did some sort of time traveling stunt and refused to admit there was more than 20 posts. I've only just been able to see your post now.

Anyhow back on topic! I suppose it does make sense for us to actually prove ourselves before we are offered positions, it would be really funny if Damien just turned up and just said "Hey kids! Wanna join the MEC!" Now you mention a hellishly difficult trial I'm paranoid their is going to be some sort of complex teamwork puzzle. This should be fun.

Name: Kelsey Walker

Gender: Female

Age/Grade: 16, Sophomore

Plate Level: Rubidium

Favourite Magics:
Vapourisation: Causes the caster, or parts of the caster, to become smoke. The smoke can be manipulated at the caster's will, is mostly transparent and is completely harmless to others.
Wordless Communication: Works as a form of telepathy, allowing the caster to speak directly to a subject from a great distance. The distance over which the link can be established can be increased with practice, as can the clarity and length of communication.

Appearance: Kelsey has neck-length dark brown hair, with her fringe almost completely obscuring her hazel eyes. At a height of 5'5" she is by no means an imposing girl, and her slight features make her even less so. Suffice to say that a lot of students at Cascade High can seem as though they're quite insane, judging by looks alone, and Kelsey sits safely outside of this circle.

Rather predictably, she doesn't buy into the sometimes extravagant and ridiculous fashions of other students of the school, instead wearing clothing that would seem more at home as a school uniform; things like a white polo shirt with a blue sash tied around the midsection, a jacket, a knee-length skirt and pumps. Of course, there are times when looking a bit extravagant is okay, and for these she has a cloak and wide-brimmed pointed hat. She will just wear them over her regular clothing.

Background: Kelsey is an incredibly isolated individual. She always has been to an extent. Throughout her life so far she has found a place to be away from others, ranging from the far corner of the cafeteria to a solitary janitor's closet. This isn't to say that she doesn't like people; she can tolerate people and has even found some that she will enjoy being around. But she's never wanted to actively pursue anything like they did, so while those people went to find things they liked she just sat on her own, lost in her own thoughts.

In her first day of middle school she went to go find something she would enjoy. She spent the first couple of weeks going from place to place, finding everything to be too social for her. There were too many people for her to really feel at ease, so she was never able to enjoy whatever it was she was doing. She wandered from activity to activity without being able to stick to one, until she wandered into the library. And then she just stayed there. Apart from the odd person who went up and down the aisles of books it was empty. It was exactly where she had been looking for this whole time. From then on she spent her breaks and dinners there, reading anything and everything. At first it was just the reading material from lessons, but then it became whatever she could get her hands on.

When it came time to choose a high school to attend, Kelsey didn't have an idea of where to choose. All she could do was look around to see which school would suit her best. People have a lot of reasons for trying to get into Cascade High. Bets, jokes, peer pressure. Sometimes they do it because they actually think they can get in. Kelsey was specifically because of the library. The library seemed to stretch into forever and, according to the library committee, it was the largest library in the country. It was the perfect place for her.

Cascade High was incredibly prestigious though. She didn't think she could get in at all, despite how wonderful it would be to get the opportunity. She looked at a lot of other high schools, thinking that somewhere else would be as good for her. But it didn't really end up like that. After having that dangled in front of her she only wanted to go to Cascade High. So she sat the entrance exam.

Due to her incredibly bookworm-ish nature the written exam was no problem for her. Her 'tendency' to hide in a book from time to time had made her incredibly book-smart, though a little lacking in common sense and people skills. The greatest obstacle to her acceptance was the interview, but she somehow passed through without incident. Then with her ability to read the octarine ink confirmed, her entry into Cascade High was a certainty. Her family couldn't have been happier for her, and she just sort of accepted their happiness rather than sharing in it.

In her first year, Kelsey joined the library committee. The library became her home away from home for the entire year, far away from the usual students' areas. As such she didn't make very many friends outside of the other committee members, and even the library members didn't know her much. In spite of her isolationism she was able to study up to getting a Rubidium plate. In her second year she plans to do better, but is faced with a personal dilemma. End her isolation to bring in members, or risk the library committee being disbanded.

Relationships: None.

Oh frickin' heck, I didn't realise I'd written that much... It's probably all utter crap now that I look back on it, but oh well.

Just a note, I changed my character to a Sophomore from being a Freshman, because I think we have enough of those. But if it would be easier for you to manage with only Freshmen, I'll gladly make a change or two. You need only ask. It'll take me all of thirty seconds, and twenty five of them will be spent berating the Escapist's current state of dysfunction.

Name: Gavren Noisha.

Gender: Male

Age/Grade: 15, Freshman

Plate Level: Mo

Favorite Magic?s:

Appearance: Gavren is 5''9' and has light gray hair. His olive skin is standard fair, and his over all physic is ordinary. He wears a white shirt, with red lines going diagonal across it, plain blue jeans. With his outfit, he wears black leather gloves with his own created markings. Which are from a game he was going to create. In his pockets, he carries around a game device to play when he is bored.

Background: Gavren grew up in a fairly average household, but he never made many friends. Instead he chooses to seclude himself from the rest of children around him. He believed they acted childish despite himself being one, and therefore didn?t gain any likes by the children. Over the years he acted a bit more open but still thought lesser of people. It wasn?t that he thought he was better, but he didn?t feel as if he belonged with groups of people.

Magic wasn?t really his thing, as while others would enjoy being able to use it, Gavren cared for it. This made his parents angry as they tried to convince him that Magic would be best for him as it was good for them. During this time, he kept away from anything magic. His parents tried and tried but nothing was working.

Over the years, he grew admiration of Video Game designers because of their great works and effort they put into their games. Gavren wished to go to College and learn programing, but his parents had other ideas. His parents were huge into the world of Magic, and they were near Cascade High, which was a Magic Academy. They themselves having gone to Cascade wished for their son to also go there and become involved with the Magic community.

This is when he started to rebel against his parents. Two week before he would go to Cascade, Gavren ran away. Nowhere to go, he wondered around, getting daily jobs. Not telling anyone that he had run away from home. During the nights he slept in hidden spots so he wouldn?t be told to leave or arrested by police. It was tough living on his own, being fifteen years old limits what he could do.

Eventually he was caught by his parents. A family friend spotted him and went and told his parents. Mere days before school began. Gavren was dragged out of his house and forced to go to Cascade. Where now he wishes to escape somehow, his parents could tell that he wanted to so they got permission from school to have guards that specifically to look after him.

Mo Users: Gavren was an interesting case, when he was assigned to go into the school, his parents specifically stated that he had to have a Mo plate despite it being insanely rare. This was due to Gavren attitude towards going to the school. He rather goes to a normal high school, but his parents wanted otherwise. Thus, due to his parents having lots of power in the Magic community they were able to get the Mo plate to punish Gavren. Forcing him to not only go to a Magic School and not be able to cast magic on his own.

Relationships: Open.

Is there a uniform for Cascade? B/c when I draw my character, I would like to draw either with or without the uniform.

No. Instead, for a small payment, the school will treat your clothes with magic to ward off X-ray magic.
Also, while I will allow you to draw what your character looks like, check out what I wrote for all player appearances: Those who attempt to give me a picture will be taken out back and shot. You can draw your character's appearance, but first give it to me in writing, okay? Once you do that, you'll be accepted.

Oh, that's right, I already wrote it! Screw procrastination!
Well then, everyone's here! Let's start this monster!
------------------------------------------------
Damien sighed as he watched the students filter into the courtyard. Most hadn't known each other or all that long, but already friendships had begun to form. Damien smiled as he saw two guys walk by from opposite ends of the globe. The two were talking and laughing like they knew each other all their lives. "Ah, high school." Damien leaned back on the bench outside, watching the incoming freshmen and sophomores, to make sure everything went smoothly and that the students weren't already abusing their magical abilities. He got a call on his cell phone; looking at it, Damien saw that it was Mr. Rei, the head of the freshmen and sophomores. "Yeah? What is it, Mr. Rei?" Damien nodded his head. "Yeah, I'm right outside the courtyard. I'm just makin' sure nobody's screwin' around. I'll follow up the stragglers." Damien saw a sophomore leering lecherously at all the girls. "Hang on, I think I just found someone using X-Ray magic..." Damien put the phone down and pulled out his wallet. "Hey! You! Stop! Magic Executive Committee!" Damien yelled, flashing the school-assigned badge. The kid looked at Damien, stunned. He turn and sprinted down the hall at full speed. Damien started to run after the kid. "Mr. Rei? Yeah, I might be a bit late- I got a runner over here." Damien closed the phone and slung his snowboard over his shoulder, unzipping the bag and pulling it out all in one single motion. Damien holstered his cell phone and wallet, exchanging them for his Silver plate. "Snowrunner!" Damien called out as he dropped his plate, activating the magic. The plate dropped to the board, seamlessly melding with it on contact. The snowboard rose a foot off the ground as Damien slid his feet into the bindings, and took off after the delinquent. The sophomore turned a corner and disappeared. Damien turned the corner and jumped off his board. "Magic Out." He commanded, the plate returning to his hand as the magic stopped. Damien once again bagged his snowboard in a single motion. He kept his plate in his right hand.

"Magic Out! Live Wire!" The student cried out. The sophomore turned visible once more, only for metal wire to shoot out of his card. The wire surrounded the hall, making it almost impossible for Damien to move anywhere. He slowly raised his right hand above his head, still holding his plate. Damien was careful not to touch any of the wires, as he could hear the crackle of electricity. "Slowly, now. Don't wanna get hurt, now do we? I get away scot-free, and you get away with minor burns. Deal?" Damien smiled. "Mate, you just tried to make a deal with the devil. Guess what? The devil always wins." Damien dropped his plate, at the same time bringing up his left arm as fast as it could move. ".45 Revolver: Shadow Shot!" Damien roared as the plate touched and melded with his shoulder, turning his arm into his infamous revolver. He fired immediately, hitting the errant student dead center. The magic paste flung the sophomore back into the wall, where he stayed, unable to move. "Damn it! What the hell was that?" Damien rummaged around in his snowboarding bag before he found what he wanted. ".45 Revolver: Load Ammo." the chambers slide out to reveal themselves, smoke rising from a barrel. Damien loaded the MEC special plate into a chamber and cocked the gun once more. "Didn't you hear? I'm the new Branch Chief of the Magic Executive Committee. Name's Damien Lier. And I really, really hate harassers like you. Fire!" The MEC plate rocketed through the electrical wires before melding to the student. "Forced Magic Out." Damien commanded. The MEC Plate once more materialized, falling to the ground. With it, it brought out the student's Bronze level plate. With the inert plate on the ground, the electrical wires immediately disappeared. Damien picked up both the plates on the ground. "Bronze level, eh? No wonder you could use Live Wire. Anyway, you'll be coming with me. Magic Out!" The revolver and paste disappeared, leaving Damien with his plate once more. The student, without even looking back, started to run for all he was worth. Damien sighed as he pulled out his chain belt. He threw it towards the sophomore. "Chain Gang!" Damien yelled. The chain extended until it reached the runner, encircling him within its infinite loops. Finally, the student was wearing something akin to a straightjacket. Damien grabbed the key loop and began to pull. "C'mon, we have a ceremony to go to. I have to give a speech, and you weren't enough trouble to get me out of it. Let's go." the student didn't try to resist, just wanting to get his plate back. "Ah, high school!" Damien cursed, realizing his current situation.

Mr. Rei was just concluding his speech about magical responsibility, the school's Modus Operandi, and the consequences of delinquency. He saw Damien, carting in the delinquent sophomore. "Speak of the devil! Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Branch Chief of the Magic Executive Committee, Damien Lier!" Damien cursed Mr. Rei as he walked in, hurrying to the podium. His captive trailed behind him as Damien took the stage. "Run away, and I will flush your plate down the toilet. Show up in the MEC room immediately after this to get your plate back. Got it?" The sophomore nodded, all too aware of what happens to those who lose their plates. Damien nodded. "Good. Go find your friends. Magic Out." Damien took the mic from Mr. Rei with a pointed look. Mr. Rei nodded and stepped back, bringing all the teachers with him. Damien nodded at Courtney as he approached the mic. "Sonic Shield." She whispered to her card before pushing it in the back of Damien's throat as he passed by. Damien started his usual speech."Good Mornin', students! If you can hear me, it means you have been selected for one of the few schools in the world that teaches you magic. You may be wondering about the plate you were given as you walked in. This is you link to the magic, and will help you perform your every spell. These range from illusion to support to attack style magic. This plate will also get you into your dorms and the school itself, so don't lose it. However, there are always those who abuse their magic, and that's where I step in. I am the branch chief of the Magic Executive Committee, the group in charge of making sure magic is being used correctly. In a nutshell, don't destroy property, don't fight outside of school-approved duels, and you will never have to worry about me. Also, make yourselves less vulerable to magical abuse. For only 10 dollars, you can buy a pass from the school to get all your clothes magically treated, to shield against X-Ray magic. Without the treatment, guys like the one I brought in can see through your clothes with a beginner level spell." Damien sighed as shrieks of rage and embarrassment shredded the silence as he prepared himself to drop his bombshell. Damien waited a bit for the volume to drop before starting to speak again. "Before this speech, I cast a spell on my voice so that only you students in front of me are able to hear me. This gives the school plausible deniability for what I am about to say. Do not bully or harass the other students in any way, shape, or form. You might get away with it for the time being." Damien shrugged before gripping the podium once more. "However, it doesn't matter how long it takes, I will find you. I will pull you aside, take you outside, and inflict holy hell on you. I will kick your ass up and down the school grounds, and I will finish off by hanging you from the flagpole. If you think I'm kidding, look around you, and ask yourself why there are two flag poles in this courtyard while only one has a flag on it. Now, normally I'm a nice guy, and you can come to me with any problems, but on this one matter I will not budge. Understand? Good. Any questions you have later on will be answered by your homeroom teacher. Thanks for listening." Damien gave Courtney's plate back to her and stepped down from the podium.

Mr. Rei took the mic once more. "Okay, thank you for coming, and I hope everyone has a great year! Within the pamphlets you were given as you came in is a list showing where you should report to for first period. The teacher in there will have your dorm assignments and will be able to answer any questions you have. Please leave in an orderly fashion!" Mr. Rei made sure everyone had left before disappearing with his own magic.

Damien sighed as he walked into the MEC room. The speaker system recognized his plate and began to play a track from his songlist. Damien grabbed two empty pieces of paper from a folder, then unceremoniously dropped them in front of the delinquent student, who was already waiting for Damien. "You got lucky; there isn't a need for manual labor- yet. Write me a reflection essay on your multiple abuses of magic. Two page minimum, front and back. If I get paperwork, then you get paperwork." Damien sat down at his desk and began to file a report on that morning's happenings. Only the first day and already Damien had a sizable backlog to go through. He saw a shadow loom over him and sighed. "More paperwork? Put it on top o' that pile. Or anywhere, really." Mr Rei shook his head. "Sorry Damien, but this is first priority. You have a new assignment!" Mr. Rei took one of the oranges from Damien's bowl while Damien flipped through the paperwork. "William Ferneaux? James Callis? Sophia Montesino? The hell?" Damien looked up. "Mr. Rei- this is a class list. What gives?" Mr. Rei sighed. "The school has recently instituted a new policy to cut back on expenses. Students with high-level plates are now being drafted to teach their peers with lower plate levels. As one of the only students in this building with a Silver plate, you were first to be recommended. You get Magic Points for this position, and no, you cannot turn it down." Damien sighed. "Great... Now two jobs at once. I'm glad I already have the .45, because I would never be able to recite it now. Oh, and the music comes with me." Damien got up, shoving the class list into a separate compartment of his bag. Thinking twice about it, Damien left his MEC paperwork and instead grabbed a large pack of gum along with his iPod. "Hey, do ya mind watchin' this guy for me? Give him his plate back when he finishes." Damien handed Mr. Rei the Bronze plate as he headed out of the MEC room. "Wish me luck, Claire." Damien took out his board once more. "Snowrunner!"
------------------------------------------------

Each of the new students looked down to see who they had for first period. Our students all had the same room: room 1-B. The inside was quite spacious, with about 30 desks in neat rows and plenty of elbow room between them. The teacher's desk was in front of all the student desks, with the blackboard right behind him. Several cutting-edge computers were off to the right, ready for use. In fact, the only thing that showed that this classroom was different than normal was the large, empty area in the back of the room. Mats had been laid down there, covering the floor and some of the walls. Some of the students already there had begun gossiping about Cascade, and of course, Damien's speech.

"Do you think he was serious?"

"No way in hell would the teachers let him do something like that. The fucker's bluffing."

"I dunno man, there really were two flagpoles there in the courtyard. Maybe he was serious!"

"You believed his bullshit? I'll prove it to ya. I bet ya the bastard's just a pussy who wants to scare us. The next time I see him, I'll show that guy who's boss."

The students heard a rushing of air as the door slid open slowly. Damien entered the room, his snowboard already bagged and slung over his shoulder. He laid the snowboard off in the corner and plugged his iPod into the teacher's computer. Music started to play in the background as Damien wrote his name on the board along with his cell phone number. Satisfied, Damien vaulted over the teacher's desk, sitting on top of it contentedly. Many of the students looked at Damien like he was some alien invader. Damien shrugged and began speaking.

"Mornin', students. As y'all know, my name is Damien Lier. The number on the board is my personal cell number. It also doubles as the MEC trouble hotline, so put it into your cell phones or memorize it or somethin'. I have your dorm assignments, so come see me whenever after class if you want 'em. All your stuff has already been moved there. Since this year the dorms are grouped by homeroom, you guys are all on the third floor. I was moved as well, so my dorm is right next to all of yours. If you have a problem, feel free to come talk to me. If I'm not there, it means I probably fell asleep catching up on paperwork in the MEC room on the first floor of the school. Just shake me awake, I'll be glad to escape the paperwork." Damien laughed before continuing. "Alright, by now most of y'all are probably wondering why I'm here. As of this year, accomplished students will be teaching their peers in an attempt to better establish a common ground or some crap like that. Yeah, bullshit, I know. Anyway, Cascade runs on a block schedule. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will be magic-focused classes, while Tuesday and Thursday are the more mundane math 'n science periods. After this period, you'll go to Magic Theory, which is taught by Courtney Dantoin, a Cobalt level sophomore, and your last period will be Magical Applications with my buddy Cory Dicanio, which focuses on potion-making and things of that nature. By some unholy fluke, he managed to get a Steel level plate. Until then though, you have Practical Magic with me for two hours. My plate rank is Silver. If I get called away, Mr. Rei, the head of the lower school, will cover. I'll explain the ranking and magic system in a minute. For now though..." Damien grabbed the large box of Juicy Fruit gum and threw it on a student's desk. "Alright, I want name, age, likes, whatever you wanna throw in there. Feel free to ask me a question, I'll try to answer it to the best of my ability. Then take a stick of gum to congratulate yourself and pass it on. If anyone asks, you got it from me."

And we have started! Describe your reactions to the speech in the courtyard, your reaction to the realization, the works. Anyone can have the gum thrown at them first. I left that vague on purpose. Eh, who am I kidding? You guys know what to do; go do it!

When James left his house this morning his parents had wanted him to make a good impression at his new school and thus he had been wearing something that looked remotely normal. That wouldn't do for any self respecting magician though, within five minutes he had snuck back in his room and changed into his usual "magician clothes" complete with a bowler hat and mirrored sunglasses today. James was honestly glad he did so because he was barely through the gate when he witnessed magic at its finest. A guy on a freaking flying snowboard on some sort of chase, James figured that sort of thing must be common in this place.

Unfortunately not common enough for teachers to be handing flying snowboards out as you entered the hall though, James sat down in disappointment and mostly ignored the boring speech on responsible magic. He busied himself by casually shuffling a deck of trick cards he had fished out of his pocket and this was amusing enough until his eyes settled on the guy from earlier, this time dragging someone along bound in chains. Even better it looked like he was going to give a speech, James finally began paying attention.

Don't destroy property, expected, don't fight when people are around, expected. James was left wondering where the mystic rules where? Surely there must be a rule about not going to room xyz on the fifth of day of the third month when the moon is full? Then Damien just casually mentioned people looking through your clothes and James was once more reminded just why this was a magic academy. James was actually chuckling during Damien's threat and his amusement stayed with him all the way to his classroom. Hanging someone off a flag pole? That was just epic.

James immediately made his way to the back of the classroom and pulled his chair back as far as possible before lounging back and resting his boots on the desk, shuffling his cards once more. He didn't even look up as he heard door open, until he heard the same voice from earlier and his head snapped up to look at Damien and saw the number on the board. He flicked his phone open to the sound of a cheap laugh track and quickly entered the number. Damian got around to informing them of their dorm location and their next few classes before he suddenly produced a box of juicy fruit gum and tossed it onto James' desk.

"Alright, I want name, age, likes, whatever you wanna throw in there. Feel free to ask me a question, I'll try to answer it to the best of my ability. Then take a stick of gum to congratulate yourself and pass it on. If anyone asks, you got it from me." James quickly jumped to his feet and offered the class a bow, sweeping his hat off.

"Righto, If you gave me more warning I'd have thought an amusing false name but my real name James Callis will do for now. I'm still fourteen at the moment but I'll be turning fifteen soon enough. Let's see, I'm big fan of magic, tricks that is, not the real stuff here. I brought all this stuff," James made to empty out his pockets on the desk, he pulled out a vast array of objects. Bright coloured dice with numerous faces, several decks of cards, a box of matches, a long string of handkerchiefs, a bag of marbles, a short length of rope etc.

"Pretty cool eh? Though I figure that stuff is nothing compared to magic that goes on here though," James paused trying and failing to think up much else in his life that he cared about other than magic. "That's it I suppose, I used to enjoy a bit of nature walking but...," James gestured to the scar along his neck and left it at that. James wondered if there was anyone in the room who didn't think he was a joke, probably not. With a grin he took a piece of gum and randomly tossed the box over to the first person he saw.

For the first time in awhile, Sofia looked in the mirror and smiled at herself as she got ready in the morning. She was young, but she understood that it wasn't often that people were given second chances in life. Even rarer that they were given an opportunity like hers. A magic academy! She had spent the last week of summer reading Harry Potter to get a better idea of what she was getting in to. "Sofia! Hurry, or you'll be late for your first day!" Her mother's voice called from downstairs, snapping her out of her daydreaming. After quickly brushing her hair and tying it into a ponytail, Sofia ran downstairs. "Where are Papa and Armando?" She asked seeing that her father and brother weren't there. "They already left. Your father had to work early and Armando starts college today, remember? Now let's go." Her Mother replied before walking out the door and to the car. Sofia followed, sad that they weren't there to see her off.

Upon arriving at the school, Sofia and her mother got out of the car and hugged tightly. "I love you Sofia, and I know you'll do wonderfully here. Be careful and make sure to call every week ok?" Her mother told her as she let go. Sofia smiled and nodded. "I will Mama. I love you too, and give my love to Papa and Armando as well!" She said before running off through the gates. The school looked surprisingly normal at a glance, with normal looking students laughing and having normal conversations. If it really were a normal school, she would be worried and nervous, but this was a magic school. Things would be different here than in the normal world. As she walked along, she saw an older looking boy staring at her. Unsure of why, she gave a small wave and a smile but he seemed to have found someone else to stare at.

Shrugging it off, she made her way to the ceremony like she was supposed to and listened to the teacher's speech. It made sense that they wouldn't just hand kids magic powers and not expect them to be responsible, so Sofia thought their rules were pretty reasonable. Then they were interrupted by a big guy dragging in another guy with a long chain. The guy who had been staring at her earlier, no less! She listened to Damien's speech and looked at the plate she had been given. it certainly didn't look like it would give her magic powers but what did she know. "-guys like the one I brought in can see through your clothes with a beginner level spell." Sofia froze when she heard those words, and nothing else Damien said reached her ears. So that guy... was... using.... EWWWWWW! What is this?! Here I thought this place would be different, but it's starting to look like the same people just with more ways to mess with me... Sofia started to see her new schoolmates in a different light. She wouldn't make the mistake of being too trusting again.

Once the speech was over, Sofia quickly went to her first class and kept her eyes down the whole way to avoid making eye contact. She picked a seat in the middle and towards the right and sat down only to find herself listening to Damien once again. What? Students will be teaching us? That's kinda lame. This place must not be in good financial shape if they have to resort to that. I dunno if I'm gonna get along alright with this Damien guy either... Her seems really like in your face and I'm... not. Her thoughts were interrupted by a pack of gum landing on her desk and she realized it was her turn to introduce herself. She stood up and immediately felt the eyes of her classmates on her. Hopefully these ones couldn't x-ray her like that other creep but she didn't want to take the chance. "U-ummm.. My name is Sofia Montesino. I'm 15 and I like... Uh.... Normal stuff I guess? I used to play soccer and... That's about it." She said as quickly as she could before sitting down, taking a piece of gum and passing the pack forward. With a sigh of relief, she opened her piece of gum and started chewing, glad to have gotten that over with.
