Wow, someone actually knows that game.
It's the only single player game (apart from diablo 1/2) which I finished over 5 times >_> that and because I had a test review on it in order to get some of my stuff published, which meant really knowing all the tips and tricks for it ;]

... You waited ten minutes, dude.
Ten minutes does not warrant a bump. An hour or two, maybe. And even then, very sparsely.

But yeah, on topic, I guess a few times on Pokemon the Gameboy ran out of battery at exactly the wrong moment, or some jackass thought it would be a fun idea to pull out the cartridge while I was in the middle of playing.
That usually sucked a lot. Especially if I had caught some sort of rare pokemon recently.

I accidentally overwrote my Hero save file in inFamous the other day. I wasn't even out of Neon yet though, so I didn't stress too much.

I did this on Fallout 3. Saved over a file that had about 30 hours play time. After that I vowed to be an evil character.
I did the exact same thing took me a month to even play the game again because of the rage :(

i once did it with a whole memory card. most of it was stuff i didn't have any more or didn't care about redoing, but my Kingdom Hearts games with lvl 90 characters and too many hours of playtime to count, and also my fairly close to finished saves in all four LEGO games i own were the biggest losses.

I've managed to overwrite around, I dunno, 300-400 hours of gameplay in total on Tales of Symphonia.

The crowning moment of my idiocy being when I did it with a 110 + hrs save file.

I love me.

And that's just one game... I am the master of deleting and overwriting save files.

Yeah... we may have spent a bit too much time on ToS, but I regret nothing. It's still just as fun as when I first got it.

In all seriousness, my sister gets more annoyed over it than I do. I just laugh whenever it happens.

I do that a lot in Disgaea, not writing over save files, but more just general mistakes in attack positioning. I remember one time I was up kind of late and killed my entire team because I didn't realize two of them were still on colored panels. After that I made it a point to always have one of those guys who is immune to that in my party.

MS invalidated my gamertag, I lost everything, and it was all because I didn't use hotmail enough (at all). This was pre-NXE, so all I got was an "oh well, what are you going to do about it?" from their tech after a 6 hour call that had been transferred to nearly a dozen people, who then called me back after they said they mentioned it in a staff meeting with their supervisor.

Mass Effect, my orb collecting progress in Crackdown, GTA4, a bunch of stuff, gone. I started over, and came back stronger with my newer gamertag. Losing one game ain't nothin' friend. Could be a whole lot worse.

Elder scrolls: Morrowind.

Had a epic glitch occur where a Slaughterfish had glitched out of the water and was following me on land. It couldn't/wouldn't attack. It followed me for awhile and later I needed to make a trip into Balmora. I decided it would be best to save before I entered on the off chance I accedentally let the fish drop into the river in middle of town.

We had a 3 hour power outage on my street right after I started saving. That save had 90+ hours on it. I was pissed.

That is now why I always make two save files for my playthroughs that last longer than 6 hours.
