Well... It hasn't happened to me YET, but I can recall several times where I've done it to my sister :/

I didn't know you could get away with such retarded thread naming on this website. Next time try to name your thread something related to your problem.

This happened to me on Zelda: Links Awakening. And that game was hard as shit. I was so upset : \

Anyway, I recovered now and I overwrote a Dragon Age save file with 15 hours of gameplay. Not a lot but i had to go through the bullshit of the beginning tutorials

I'm usually very careful with my saves. Recently I lost lots of expensive equipment in Fallout 3 and went on a killing spree in Rivet City that I will be continuing later on. probably until it's just Flak and chem lady.

Nothing like that has happened to me personally, but my friend had a little brother that deleted his level 80 WoW character (which he'd been playing for 6 years) because he thought the character could just be "resurrected". That's over 1000 hours of playtime down the drain.

Also, my brother never overwrote his Final Fantasy IX save, but it all of a sudden became corrupted when he was about 4 hours from the end of the game. No way to recover it.

Pokemon sapphire - 20 levels of hard grind and EV training for my magikarp to evolve into a Gyrados... Then GBA battery life gave way AS I WAS SAVING.
Corrupt file, reload state. Haven't played it since. Still hurts

I was 60 successful hours in to Septerra Core (a Final Fantasy style game.) I had probably worked up twice as many hours failing. I was about 2 hours from the end of the game. I changed computers. I copied everything I needed over, and somehow missed that one save game! I've tried to catch up since, but it's so much work for a story I've seen before... :-(

I accidently saved over my first ESIV Oblivion 100 hour save with a friends save without realizing it. I then did the same thing with Fallout 3. I now have over 100 saves (each) for fallout and oblivion at a time... with a span of about 2 minutes in between each save...

I was being stupid and was messing around with my ds a bit because it was having some trouble with spirit tracks. I load it back up, and my near completion data was gone. I was pissed for awhile. Still don't know how it ends.

Well, I had *collapses on floor because of your avatar*. Um, I left for a while and came back to find that my siblings had decided to overwrite ALL of my PS2 save files instead of buying new ones...RAGE! I never got my progress back to what it used to be.

Once, my ps2 memory card got wiped with no apparent cause; *poof* all my save files were gone.

Just yesterday, a friend and I played through Condemned 2 on Hard getting Gold rankings on every mission. We missed ONE news report required for the gold, one that we kept on getting every time one of us ended up dying at that checkpoint, but simply forgot to the one time he got through it. He beat it and realized this, so went back to replay the mission in an easier mode to relieve stress and get the achievement. During the final boss, it autosaved and froze at the same time. Upon rebooting the xbox, all the save data was erased.
