Inglorious Basterds

What I expected: A good film with a fair amount of dark humour to keep me interested.

What I got: A very long feeling film with some very funny parts that was much better than I expected (apart from the length, it felt very long indeed).

yeah I didn't get a chance to watch that in theaters, but watched that on megavideo. In case you don't know megavideos a site that actually has some good quality video but only lets you watch in 75 min. chunks then makes you wait half an hour. Imagine what that was like, took a while.

What I expected:
Typical videogame forum full of mouth breathing, ignorant and rude trolls that make me rage with almost every post.

What I got:
A pleasantly surprising community of international posters that act respectful and helpful and use full sentences. I'm still unsure that this isn't some sort of trap....

His Dark Materials book trilogy (I tend to blag on about them on here, sorry guys and girls).
My ex read them and said she loved them and cried at the end. I was expecting a lovely girly story becaus eit made her cry. So i read it out of curiousity and to help me get ore things in common with her. Just somethign else to talk about really. I expected to like it becaus ei now its been succsessful, i didnt expect to LOVE it!

I came across the same way. The Northern Lights was an up and down, had a girlish feel to it. But the Subtle Knife and Amber Spyglass were a mixed bag of emotions and an incredible read. Shame the film sucked so hard. And was name "The Golden Compass". Bloody Yanks.
