I really don't think I have any effect on the Escapist. So few people know me and I'm on to keep to my self. Ok maybe I added a bit of variety to the mix but that's about it. If I could change one thing it would be to wipe out all trolls.

I am the Escapist!

...

Okay, truth be told I don't think I have much of an impact here. But I don't think any one person has(in the community, not Yatzhee or the like), it's the community as a whole that makes this site so great.

I'm pretty sure I make a big impact on this site.

Joking.

Improvement? None, the site is perfect as it is.

I sincerely doubt 90% of The Escapist has any idea who I am either due my increasingly frequent absence, my change of avatar/name, peoples short attention spans or the fact that I am not that memorable.

As such I'd say I have no impact whatsoever.

What would I change for the better? The trolling by a significant portion of users. The fact that Halo, Religion, Consoles, Valve and so many other topics are frowned upon simply because they always end in arguments is a tribute to this.

For example I know for a fact that if I created a thread asking "What is your favourite gun in the Halo series?" I'd have to make a disclaimer stating something such as "Do not come in here just to state that you hate Halo, this is for fans only".

Even then I'd still get a bunch of people who ignore the statement and do it anyway, as well as having a few users tell me that I have no right to tell people not to shout out their hatred of Halo no matter how irrelevant to the topic it may be.

I don't think I particularly impact the Escapist. I mean, I'm reasonably well known, but that doesn't mean much. If I wasn't here, it'd be pretty much the same. So not much.

As for what to change, get rid of the elitism. Just the general "We're better than everyone else" attitude expressed by some members. That needs to go.
Pretty much. I'm the same, albeit far less well known. I've managed to incur the wrath of those "I'm better than you because I've got more posts Snarf snarf" guys, not naming names. Pimp. *cough*

Who essentially said he was better than me, I disagreed. He got bitchy, I retaliated, he deleted his post and got me suspended. The coniving villain.

I like my forums and online communities to be pleasant places where, yes, there are different opinions, but they mean debate and conversation rather than raging one-sidedness and "FU FAGGIT I GET YOU BANNED."

Now I know to steer clear of people like that, and instead post with people like the lovable mr Furburt instead.

And do I impact the Escapist? Not much, just the occassional witty/political/philosophical/downright silly post here and there.

I have about as much impact on the escapist as one fat person has on McDonald's.

That is say, very little.

As for what I would change... that's a much more interesting question. Probably gear the content toward more information (news, reviews etc) and less entertainment (game dogs, apocalypse lane etc). Also, I would reduce the number of people on the forums.

I think it's my fault I'm not ever noticed. I always change my avatar, and I changed my name once (though, it was only changed from "Sparrow Tag" to "Sparrow").

But I am sort of known. I cruise around every part of the forums. I'm in alot of big user groups which I post in every now and again, I do user reviews every now and again, I like to think I'm well known in the RPing corner, I'm a sort of regular in IRC AND I do like to create my interesting share of threads.

Also, I'm hilarious. That helps.

I'm probably most known for my avatar. Also my obsession with;

[HEADING=1]TIME PARADOXs[/HEADING]

...and...

*Opens time window with a kettle and some string*

Also, I am the founder of The Escapist TARDIS Crew [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Escapist-TARDIS-crew]. So I have impacted the 50 people in there.

Highly doubtful I have any impact here, except perhaps taking up a little bit of bandwidth.

Except that one time of the Escapist TF2 server when I was pissing PAYJ off by destroying his teleporters.

I am mostly invisible.
Are you sure? That avatar of yours is strangely mesmerizing (And the girl is h4wt, but that's another topic altogether), makes me read your posts twice.
