I'm not sure I entirely understand your point, but I'll try...
It's written in the Bible that Christians must follow what is known as the Great Commission, or that we should bring the gospel to all the nations. This is our responsibility, therefore, all of those who aren't reached is also our responsibility.
I would not trust the Bible, it is written by men.
They can say it's God's words, but it's not... God would write a perfect Bible that transends all language and could be understood by all.

Just for the reccord, I am a non-religious person. Just so you know "what you're dealing with".

I think we've derailed this thread pretty hard, by the way.

Ignoring them isn't really a valid option. The only way that's going to happen is if no one knows they're coming. It is like saying, "Oh, just ignore that four car pile up." No one ever does, which is why I end up going 30 mph on the interstate for ten minutes. So yeah, unless people are suddenly better than they've ever been at ignoring shit that is crazy/violent/etc then...well, no point in bothering.

Seriously, I've always wondered why the "crazy kids" that shoot up schools and shit don't go for people like this. I made a promise to myself a long time ago that if I ever wanted to kill myself I'd do it after mass murdering a bunch of fucks like WBC.

(As a Christian, I'd like to say that Westboro Baptist Church can go screw itself.)
You could say that without being a Christian and it'd still be just as valid.
My point was that they do not represent Christianity as a whole and even we're against them.
I respect the WBC a bit more than other Christians. Atleast they follow the Bible more literally without the heretical apologetics.
...

You have just told every single Christian who reads your post that they are a "heretical apologetic", and that you respect Fred Phelps more than them.

Words fail me.

Truth tends to stun people. If you read the Bible you'd see that every Christian today decides to fall into 'apologetics' rather than literalism, that's because deep down they are moral creatures who can't follow the immoral rules set forth in the Bible. The Phelps 'family' atleast follows more of the Bible literally, which I respect. If you're going to believe in nonsense, atleast BELIEVE in it. Don't paddy it down with "No, see....the Bible says kill homosexuals but back then kill meant 'give puppy-kisses to'."

Wow. Just wow. It isn't the truth that stuns me, it is the breath taking level of ignorance and hypocrisy that can exist in just a few lines. This is like saying that all atheists must also agree with everything Stalin ever did because he followed Dialectic Materialism (a "perfect" form of scientifically based thinking). What you have said...

The Bible is not supposed to be taken literally. Because it is interpreted in a way that you don't agree with doesn't make anyone an apologetic, it makes them a free-thinker. They have thought..

"ok, well I don't quite roll with that bit. I like this stuff about "love thy neighbour", and "thou shalt not kill", so I shall take these gems and apply them too my life, and not focus on the other stuff so much".

...and that earns your disrespect? What the hell is wrong with you?

Bwahaha! Your ignorance about theology and basic hermeneutics causes me much laughter.
The Phelps family completely perverts and destroys what Christ came to do in the first place. For them to even call themselves Christians is such a gross hypocrisy.

It's because theists blather about it being the word of god, which would mean ALL of it is the word of god. If you ignore a portion or 'not focus' on portions, that makes you a heretic. Simple as that. The Bible tells you to suffer not a witch to live. Where's the massacre of Wiccan practicers? The Bible tells you to murder homosexuals. Where's the slaughter of consentual lovers of a slightly different variety?

If you ignore a portion of a book which you consider 'the word of god', you are a heretic. Simple as that. It'd be like ignoring a law in America but focusing on all the other laws, you'll still get in trouble for the ignored laws. Same as how the theist, if Hell were to exist, would end up burning in it for ignoring certain portions.

Christ came for a suicide mission, if the story were to be true. Let's not forget that he said not one law would change, not a jot nor tittle. It's not surprising to me anymore the ignorance of the texts when talking to those who believe it. They focus on the positive aspects and ignore the vile contemptable rules set forth by an egomaniac god. We can look at "Thou shalt not kill", but what of the rules telling us to murder homosexuals? The Bible is filled with the foolish idiocy of mixed messages.

This leaves me with two questions.

1. If you truly believe this, then how in the name of fuck can you possibly have less respect for people who go against the word of their god to not be bigoted towards homosexuals?

And:-

2. Have you ever heard of the "no true Scotsman" fallacy? People interpret those words differently, that doesn't make them any less Christian. Sorry but you are not the ultimate arbiter of what constitutes a Christian or not.

You're right! The law hasn't changed.
But Christians aren't under the law! We're under grace, through Christ's death and resurrection. Try reading the book of Romans, that'll clear that up for you (Though I know you won't). The Bible is only confusing to those who would rather rely on their own hateful presuppositions then actually try to learn about simple theology.

Anything I say about how you are flat out wrong will just go over your head. You have already made up your mind about my faith, and no amount of education will change that. I've heard all the same arguments before, and simple theology closes the doors as quickly as they open...but people would rather be angry. Fine, go ahead.

1) Because their delusional belief demands them to be bigoted. If they want to open their eyes to reality and see that we are all equal, it's time for them to toss aside their nonsensical superstitions.

2) If you believe, truly, that the Bible is the word of god...then every word is true. Every word must be followed. If you deem one rule to be unnecessary, you are spitting in the eye of god and deeming your knowledge of humanity to outweigh his. This is heretical. It's not a fallacy, it's a definition to those who don't follow his word as 100% true.

Read it, and reading your apologetics isn't the first time I've heard "We aren't under those laws.....except for this law, and this law, and this law....you know, the ones we dig". The Bible is only confusing to those who read it in it's entirety, which most Christians have yet to do. What of the rules presented after the book of Romans? ;)

1) Ahhh. Everyone who believes everything that isn't believed by atheist fanatic Cliff_m85 is delusional. Move over Fred Phelps, you got some competition in the malignant narcissism competition!

2) No true Scotsman logical fallacy again. And once more I have to repeat - you are not the ultimate arbiter of what constitutes a religious belief, nor are you someone who will determine the correct way to follow a religious practice.

In any event, you have demonstrated ignorance and fundamentalism equal to any religious zealot. Your theophobia is the only voice you will hear. I hope you can overcome this handicap someday, but for now, I suggest you go no further with this lest you offend people here. Even if you are right about everything, that is no excuse to be a douche-bag.

And by the way - I am not a Christian.

1) No, I'd say anyone who believes in something without any valid evidence is delusional.
2) I believe Websters actually is the ultimate arbiter of what a religious belief is. I checked with the dictionary and found I was correct.

Like a gentleman said before in this thread, if you were standing in front of a car I would push you out of the way. Douche-baggery may not be PC, but it may wake up one of the individuals infront of the car called 'wasting their life on nonsense'.

Read it, and reading your apologetics isn't the first time I've heard "We aren't under those laws.....except for this law, and this law, and this law....you know, the ones we dig". The Bible is only confusing to those who read it in it's entirety, which most Christians have yet to do. What of the rules presented after the book of Romans? ;)
Bwahaha. Again, you totally got it wrong.
And pardon me if I sincerely doubt you read Romans. Though if you did, though probably read it with your mind already made up. Good way to learn.
And 'rules presented after Romans'? Please. What a lame argument.

Like I said, no amount of education or debate will change your mind, so I won't bother.
'Pearls to pigs' and all that.
Take care.

Very good.

1) So provide me for evidence of morality. Show me justice on the periodic table. Demonstrate ethics in a laboratory.

If not, then don't ever complain when you get scammed, beaten up, or otherwise harmed. If you do believe in those, then you are a hypocrite.

2) What you said, and what is in the dictionary, differ considerably.

Ahh I love it. So when Christians try to shove their religion down your throat in an effort to "save your soul" they are doing you a favour, by your own logic. In other words - you have no right to complain about anything. :D
