The whole room was silent. On one side, near the pict-screens, Verendus stood crouched with his pistol. Near the hatchway, Gremlin hefted his flamer, taking aim at his opponent.
?9...? Ophelia fidgeted in her seat, the situation quite uncomfortable.
?8...? Zen took another puff on his cigar, he knew he couldn?t stop this, he?d seen it all too much before.
?7...? Larenxis whispered something to his skull, it buzzed happily in reply.
?6...? The daemon host chuckled ?The man-things wants to kills some mores eh??
?5...? Maeror held his hand on his own gun, not trusting either of the two.
?4...? Rain made the sign of the Emperor in the air, muttering a short prayer.
?3...? Pie nervously backed up, fearing the flames might consume him too.
?2...? Galt held a stun-truncheon in his right hand, hoping no one would interfere

Gremlin opened fire with his flamer, bright orange flames filling the deck while Verendus rolled to the side, firing straight into the blaze. The others backed away, careful not to get burned or shot. Several small fires started on the ground but the ship?s damage control system took care of them with haste.
Verendus flicked down his visor and pulled out a flash bomb. He yanked out the pin and rushed towards Gremlin. As the trail of sparks started to fade, Verendus dropped the bomb and fired. Suddenly, the room was filled with a blinding light. Larenxis, who had quickly shifted his vision to heat sensitive, saw a final burst from Gremlin?s flamer and the two bodies fell, one substantially brighter than the other. As everyone regained their sight, they saw Verendus lying on the ground, most of his body consumed with fire. Gremlin only faring slightly better, his left leg had been severed by the shot.
As Gremlin blindly fumbled around Zen extended his hand out to grab him. ?Hey, Pie, check around his sentinel and see if you can find this man a new leg.?
