*OOC: Rain, I think you meant to say "traitorous"...yes, it is a word.*

*After the encounter with the Inquisitor, The Delinquent has resumed control of the flesh.*

"Oh, how I hatesssss that flesh-monster. How I wishhhhhhh I could rip into it's skin, devour it's heart, and drag it's soul screaming to you, Lord T! If it dids not have your crest..."

*The Delinquent turns, noticing that Gremlin is still standing guard.*

"And it's the other flesh-being. The one from before. It was very sure of itself before, when it sat proud in it's metal toy. Does it not worry about it's steel treasure? With all of the wonderful mischief that has occurred, does it not worry that it's precious 'Gremlin' may be the next victim?"

*As soon as the words left it's twisted lips, Gremlin raised his laspistol. He drew a bead between the creature's brow.*

"NEVER...EVER...threaten the 'Gremlin'! By the Golden Throne if you lay one filthy finger on it, I'll blow your head clean off!"

*The Delinquent cackles, very much amused by the threat*

"Wouldn't want to do that, little fleshling. Your Lord keeps me here for a reason...and MY Lord demands that I obey. If you shoots me, you'll be the one who suffers."

*The Delinquent retreats within it's chamber, cackling maniacally.*

::Back On The Bridge::

Ophelia exhales. How long had she been holding her breath? Her body aches from the tension of the past few hours, and the privateer finds herself longing for a bed she could guarantee waking from. With a deep breath in she engages the intercom, and her voice rings through the ship like a tolled bell.

"We've... we've missed the asteroid field," she says shakily. "It was a close thing, but we're passed..."

Her voice trails off, but the speakers continue to hum with life. "I'm sorry... for your loss. It wasn't meant to happen like this.

"They said - or at least I was told..." Ophelia's voice becomes a whisper, full of terrible understanding. "God, all those children... Vicky..."

The intercom cuts off abruptly, leave half a sob to echoing through the lonely corridors.

"Yes, but rain, We have to think back to the first murder, would killion have skills in silent and quick assassination, especially with a needle? Before we start to accuse people we have to think this through, The person would need alot of knowledge in poisons and at least some knowledge in combustion."
"But of course Killion wasn't working alone. He had help from that traitorous (OOC: tah) heritic assassin. They usually work in pacts like this."

Magos Titanica Larenxis raised his eyes from the floor. "Are my services needed?" he said to the room, poorly mimicking his normal calm state. He peered at empty space and drew his servo-skull nearer. "Nothing is simple," he said, hardly releasing any air from his lips and scarcely making a sound at all. "There is too much chaos. I don't trust that Zen fellow, but then again..." his eyes flickered on the Tech-priest's corpse, "Who can I trust?" He sighed, and the sound of it faded and merged with the hum of the ship.

"He's right, this bombing has just complicated our situation. The killer has either made a horrible mistake and put themself in a vulnerable position, or...perhaps the bombing was just a feignt, perhaps our friend has just tried to convince us of their presumed inexperience. Either we hesitate until another man dies, or we act now. Either way, this will be very bloody."
Gremlin shook his head. "My money's on it being a distraction. The guy kills a Psyker, navigator, tech-priest and powerful acolyte without being caught, and leaves a 'clue' like that? No way. The thing is almost.. scientifically inept." His eye's glazed over, and he tilted his head as he stared into space, thinking. His eyes flicked up to Galt. "Look to the techies, this isn't a bomb only a cretin could make.. this is a bomb only someone highly trained could. Poor quality is easy enough, calculated poor quality is a lot more difficult."

"You are accusing me of willfully destroying this beautiful machinery, as well as Adventum and a key part of our mission? Surely you must see how unreasonable that is?"

Gremlin grinned. "Ah, but its not so beautiful compared to the god-machine is it? Perhaps you felt that some... penal scum might bring harm upon it, since we're all so rowdy and uncontrolled, hmmm? You might want the Titan's glory for yourself, not share it with another tech-priest. Maybe you're just not as faithful to the Deus Machina as you claim. Regardless, who else could make a bomb powerful enough to kill, but just inelegant enough to leave us with the distinct impression it was made by an amateur?"

*Kalidian awoke to the bright lights of the medicae bay and a dull ache in his body. He tried to recall what had happened, the acolyte and tech-priest were dead and there had been some kind of explosion, then he'd woken up here. Kalidian turned his head, the burned skin of his neck stretching painfully as he did so, grimacing he stopped trying to move. The smell of his burnt flesh and pain balms hung in the air as the dull ache returned with more intensity. Kalidian hoped that someone would be back to check on him soon, he didn't like the emptiness.*

*Rob walks up to an inquisitor, not remembering the name as he really never cared to learn*
"If you give me my rifle and kit back, I can keep watch on a room. On Krieg all, we had to be good at concealment, even in something as big as the size of a large room. I'm only offering this because I'd rather take my chances than get my throat slit like a useless animal."

"No one's death is useless, Inglis, remember that. Everyone dies eventually, why not let them die for the Emperor's purpose. I think the recent deaths may have been the mistake we need to nail our little heretic."

"Ah, I do not believe it to be Larenxis. If she did want the god machine for herself she would also need an army to opperate it. Unless of course she was working with the rougue commander. Even still she would feel comfortable inside the Titan no matter who's with her. My consern is still with Killion. His disrespect for his command is disturbing. I've seen this before and it never ends well. Heritic or not."

Gremlin sighed and nodded. He still suspected Larenxis, but if an Inquisitor disagreed he didn't have a hope. "Killion is a good man sir" He ventured, "He has an issue with Zen, sure but... Surely then he'd just kill Zen as opposed to the rest of the crew? Although... non of the penal forces have been killed yet, only the Inquisiton team, psykers, tech-priests. He feels no loyalty for them.. and they might get in between him and Zen. By the Emperor, what if it is him?" Hollow eyed, he mechanically reached into his satchel and pulled out a drink for comfort.

The Inquisitor looked at Gremlin. He stood up for his fellow soldier, respectable and holy? Or was he sticking up for a fellow heritc trying to convince people that the mechanic, a vitial tool in our mission was the murderer.

"I understand. But I would believe that Killion could have been hired by the rouge commander. His hatred for Zen was his weakness and the means to do this. We must keep a close eye on him, as well as everyone else. The Holy Emperor will make things clear in time."

Gremlin blinked and put the bottle back. Not a good time to lose his grip on reality. He took a deep breath, and straighened up. He was a sentinel pilot, he was used to behaving slightly outside Imperial standards, but authority was authority, and right now he couldn't afford to argue with it. "Yes sir. I am at your disposal, sir. Your orders?"

Killion lounged in the galley, just finishing a small ration pack and enjoying his break. Suddenly, Inquisitor Rain barged into the room with Gremlin tagging along behind him. Killion got up to see what was amiss when suddenly Rain drew his pistol and pointed it at Killion?s face.

?Wha?what?s going on here? Gremlin? Care to explain this to me?? he said.
Gremlin averted his eyes, best not to give the heretic any sign of camaraderie in front of Rain.
?By my order, I am placing you under arrest for these murders, Killion, you can either stand down or we can shoot it out right here.? Rain?s voice had the iron rigidity of a Commissar, a trick Zen had taught him.
Slowly, Killion began to realize what was going on, the finger was pointed at him now.
?Alright, I?ll surrender, just don?t shoot.?

Rain walked over to Killion, his finger still on the trigger. Suddenly, Killion burst into motion. His limbs blurred as he knocked the gun out of Rain?s hand ducked to the side. The metal clang of the pistol rang out through the galley. He pulled a knife out of his boot and grabbed Rain around the throat. Turning to face Gremlin.

?Zen?s not getting? me. Not now, not after all I?ve done.? he spat. ?I didn?t serve my Emperor all these years just to die because some fanatic got the least bit paranoid.?
He pulled the knife closer to Rain?s throat, the blade now pressed firmly to his skin.
Gremlin reached for his own pistol, fearing things would get out of hand fast, the last thing he needed was a dead Inquisitor near him.
?Hands down!? Killion?s voice had the desperate quality of a condemned man.
Gremlin thought about trying to reason with Killion, but he knew that one way or another, Killion was a dead man as soon as he pulled out his knife.
Rain tried to squirm against his captor?s arm, the knife was now slicing at the fabric of his cowl.
?Gremlin, forget you saw this, just get out of here, and we say he was murdered like the rest. No one needs to know.?

Gremlin was now convinced Killion had gone mad, Quite amazing what the Inquisition can do with only threats... he thought. Killion?s arm was beginning to make a slow unwinding motion when Gremlin seized his opportunity. He drew his pistol, leveled it at the two men, looked Killion in the eye, and fired.
?Emperor forgive me...?

Rain?s arms went limp as he slipped out of Killion?s grip. A skull snapped backwards as the bolt burned straight through it. Both figures hit the floor with a sickening thump. Gremlin edged closer to the two, unsure of which one he?d shot. Rain promptly rolled onto his side and propped himself up, the tear in his robe stretching across his neck. Killion remained on the ground, lifeless, a few steaming droplets of blood lay sprinkled on the wall.

?Good work there Gremlin?? the uncommon praise from Rain seemed to be a forced thing, gratitude was not common to Imperial servants.

Well, Killion?s dead now. Better hope you got the right one...
