What ACTUALLY gives you hope for humanity?

My best friend was a Halo fanatic for years, and constantly only talked of Halo. Lately, he's been expanding to other games such as GoW, PC games, fallout, and such things and loving them just as much. That gives me hope, that one day, the world of gaming can be united under a single banner... and go find Jack Thompson and burn his house down.

EDIT: Also, that dancing video posted before, just beautiful. That restores quite a bit for me as well, and I loved the DMZ part and the Air Space.

I have very little hope for humanity. I mean, when I think about it, I get really depressed. What DOES give me hope though is individualism. The fact that all people aren't the same. Individuals are creative, funny, friendly, understanding etc etc. You all get my point

Most people I see spend their frustration on keeping vehicles, computers and other things maintained rather than keeping food on the table. I think it's a good thing our worries aren't currently on self-preservation.
Seeing Christians that are actually cool with you not accepting Christ as your saviour. A gentler hand works much better for conversion in the long run.

The human race is gonna die out at some point, but the likelihood is that it's not in my lifetime. So I don't really care.
What makes me realise that we can make it till the end is the sheer determination that drives us forward each day. You may not be determined to get that promotion but you're still going to work to get money to buy food so you can survive. That, is the determination I'm talking about.

We've been to the Moon, we've sent probes into outer space, we have models for the interior of atoms, we have machines and electronics because of our understanding of chemistry and physics, we can talk to people around the globe at an instant, we have exterminated smallpox, we have developed antibiotics, we have libraries that hold millions of books (if you deny the importance of literacy, kindly defenestrate yourself), and we are on the verge of a second technological revolution. You know, humanity doesn't suck. Our accomplishments make us pretty damn respectable, but people who do not comprehend the importance of learning/research are the problem...
