What animals has Pokemon not done?

Stick Insect: Sudowoodo would be my best guess

That would work if it was a bug type, but it isn't, is just plain rock.

And Torkoal doesn't work as a tortoise tribute, because he's fire?

Actually, it works perfectly. Torkoal is Rock/Fire. Tortoises live on land, and rocks are a part of the land, so it works.

The only way Sudowoodo would work is if it was a bug type. Besides, even stick bugs look like bugs in some way. Sudowoodo looks only like a tree and has no bug characteristics.

Agh, right, I hate those things. Firefly had so much potential too.

A lot of pokemon had potential that got...more or less ruined. :/ Well, in my opinion anyway.
Heck, they managed to make the tadpole cooler than most of the frogs. Toxicroak is awesome...but Poliwrath beats the heck out of Politoed and Seismitoad.
Or one of my personal big ones:
Hermit Crab seemed like such a cool idea and while Dwebble wasn't bad...Crustle just looks ridiculous. Come on now. D:

Yea. It's called a Mudskipper. That or I could pull up pictures of an Axolotl and a Mudpuppy which also supposedly played into it's design. They don't look much closer OR better though.

Also, Joltik is all sorts of weird. It's name implies tick...though some say it's a mite. And then obviously it's got a little jumping spider/tarantula in it like it's evolved form.
But no matter what the heck it is....it is quite possibly the most adorable thing I have ever seen in my life. Especially if you realize how tiny it is.

Yeah, i never thought i'd see a Pokemon smaller than Diglett. as for joltiks evolved form. I never thout i'd see a spider I actually want on my team.

The narwhal's horn is actually a tooth.
