What anime do you feel weird for liking?

*bro fist* What's funny is that I kinda stopped watching anime for a while and just picked up watching it again recently.
From around 4-9 I would watch nothing but Toonami's anime line up.

Tenshi Muyo, Sailor Moon, DBZ, Outlaw Star, Ronin Warriors, Blue Submarine No. 6 and Big O were all my favs as a kid.

i'm not embarressed to say that One Piece is my favourite anime/manga, because its hilariously funny. but its not something i can talk about with my schoolfriends. They were the kids who watched television rather then went outside (i loved climbing tree's) and so they've seen DBZ, Tencho Muyo, Yu-Gi-Oh and all those sorts of animes that were cycling on telly around the 1996-2003 period. so their experience with One Piece was that of what is known as the "4-kids mess". so they view it as childish and badly done, even if it was part of their childhood (they won't have a word against DBZ ever either...)

I'm not big on Shoujo's, mainly because so many of them don't focus on the right elements to interest me, so i don't usually read/watch any as they don't suit what i like in an Manga/anime. an example of one i do like would be "Sky High".

i sometimes feel embarressed when i'm admitting to liking anime... for the people i'm talking too though. They are usually so judgemental and make some untrue or construed generalisation, meaning that i have to make a nasty generalisation about a programme genre they really like, which usually really throws them. bless them

I remember first getting into Toonami around the age of 10.

I missed Tenshi Muyo, Outlaw Star, and The Big O.
But i still got Rurouni Kenshin, DBZ, G Gundam, Zoids, and a couple others.

I also got to catch The Big O on Adult Swim with Case Closed, Trigun, and Inyuasha.
Id stay up all night just for The Big O.
It was Freaking Awesome.

Though I'd say Tenchi Muyo and The Big O were my absolute favorites. I know Big O was kind of a Batman ripoff but goddamn, was it amazing.

I would have to definitely agree with Excel Saga... just weirded me out that they made fun of there own anime? Good for the laughs though.. ;P

I guess Ikkitousen is some anime I feel a little weird to watch. Bought the manga recently (Battle Vixens) and found it to be something I enjoy, but for someone like my mother or friends to say; "OMG, Are those things real? (big boobs)" Kind of ruins it a little. I understand this is a typical depiction in a lot of earlier manga/anime, yes?

I've started to delve into different areas of anime and manga having starting with Ghost in the Shell and Rorouni Kenshin, and enjoy a bit of Sailor Moon amd Cardcaptor every now and again to bring back fond memories of my early childhood.. haha

Im a sucker for "Here is the bad guy, kick his ass as awesomely as possible" story's.
G Gundam, was my favorite because it had a cool story and some of the most awesome fights my young eyes had ever seen and some sweet looking Mecha.


And as for The Big O.
Yea, it shared a lot of things with Batman but, it was so freaking good.
And it did things that made Batman pale in comparison.

Its a fun Turn Based Strategy series.
And as for The Big O in the game, because most of his attacks in the are Ammo Biased, he can ignore Defenses built by Shields and make his opponents Rely solely on their Armor.
Plus...he is the GOD of Tanks.
Takes little to no DMG, Massive Stats, and has a special move that lets his entire team repair themselves for free?
Hell yes.
