Ray William Johnson fans.

Seriously, I hate those people.
I second this.
[SUB]Tobuscus is way better.[/SUB]

Also, die hard Apple fanboys that won't come to reason in a discussion even though you show them SOLID FUCKING EVIDENCE that proves you right. They'll just squander on about how Steve Jobs is a genius messiah, and that Apple invented the touch screen, the mouse pad, the MP3 player, the phone, the *insert other things Apple didn't invent here*.

I just fucking rage when people in my class start talking about Apple as some sort of divine superpower.
*sighs*
Wait so you're saying Apple isn't the greatest thing to ever grace this planet. Shocker (he says as he types this on his macbook).

Yeah Apple fanboys/girls suck really bad, they think PCs are so inferior, when in actuality it is quite the opposite. I have a macbook and it is really nice, but I really want a PC so I can actually play games that are not made by Valve. I only have a macbook for college. I still love it though and would only trade it for a high end desktop PC that can run Crysis on the highest settings.

I also hate people who are really into politics to the point that if someone is in the opposite party as them they will go into attack mode.

No fans. That's right. I have the incredible ability to put up with any fandom out there.
Every fandom exept this:

1)The Anti-Fan: Anyone who hates something without ever actually having seen/used it. This kind of person is a fan of not liking something, and typically will irrationally attack whatever you like simply because they don't. I consider this different from a hater, because usually a hater will spend a little time with something before tearing it apart. The most common example of this one is probably the Anti-Twilight fan (not saying I like that piece of drivel, but I at least attempted to read it before forming an opinion).
Those people don't make any sense! What logical reason is there to hate something if you haven't even seen it?! (Other than the "because everyone else hates it")

Except for 5, all of these "beliefs" are really just personal opinions/preferences being presented as facts.
1. This is fact. A PC is capable of having significantly higher graphical power than consoles. This isn't "personal preference," but indisputable fact that PCs have much more graphical power than a console.
2. This is fact. A PC is capable of playing not only all the older, previous PC games, but as well as many other games from older consoles.
3. This is personal preference. Grats... you are right about 1 or 3 so far.
4. I dismissed this as silly and a non-point.
5. You said that this is a "belief"
6. This is the same vain as 5.
7. This is a silly non-point, as others have pointed out
8. This is in the same vain as 5.
9. This is a personal preference. Congrats on being right about 2/9 so far.
10. I said this was a silly non-point.

So, that makes a grand total of TWO of these statements being personal preference? Everything else is either hard fact or worded in such a way it is CLEARLY a personal preference.

So, care to say anything else?

We need to fight against draconian DRMs, services tied to products and other shit. But no, the Steam fans would keep hailing Valve as the king even if it would shit on their heads.
I rarely am so blunt with stating this, but you are a moron. Vavle's first party games have some of the lightest and most user-friendly, non-intrusive DRM out there. Even further, any DRM in Steam is entirely third party, and they are very forward with that information. Dude, one of the biggest reasons Steam is so fucking successful IS BECAUSE OF HOW LIGHT AND PERMISSIVE IT IS REGARDING DRM.

I'm sorry, but are you just trolling?

Video Game: Probably STALKER fans. I'm not knocking STALKER in anyway, I love the game, but the majority of the fans seem to make it look like it's the greatest thing ever made. It's not, sorry.

Movie: Scott Pilgrim. This movie to me looked like it was maid with a "Hey, look at us! We're nerdy and stuff too. Aren't we cool?!?!" and it just comes off like it tries way too hard.

Movie: Twilight. Need I say more?

Music: Bieber Fans. Just... *shudders*

Depends on how loud, annoying and ignorant they are.

Being a fan of something is basicaly the same as sayig out loud your opinion. There are ways to do it "right", other ways that are annoying to those around you.

So me not being able to play any Steam game including Vavle game for 5 days, just because my internet was down and Steam refused to go into offline mode until I had log in is light DRM. I would hate to see what you consider hard.

And it's not a single time that has happen. If you internet isn't stable you will have a lot of trouble with Steam.

That's a security protocol Steam has built in. It's in place to make sure people can't steal your account. That isn't DRM. Try learning what DRM is before you try to make a point.

I guess this is just going to prove that the "anti-fans" people have discussed in this thread are just as bad as actual fans.

Digital rights management (DRM) is a term for access control technologies that are used by hardware manufacturers, publishers, copyright holders and individuals to limit the use of digital content and devices. The term is used to describe any technology that inhibits uses of digital content that is not desired or intended by the content provider. The term does not generally refer to other forms of copy protection, which can be circumvented without modifying the file or device, such as serial numbers or keyfiles. It can also refer to restrictions associated with specific instances of digital works or devices.

Taken from wikipedia please tell how it isn't DRM.

I agree,an average fanboy (or girl) can be explained with this picture

Or just by saying that fans are stupidly clingy onto the said thing they like, stupidly blinded by just about anything wrong with it and will defend it to the death if you do so much as call it mediocre.

Any fanboy who expresses themself on the internet. I believe that everyone is a fanboy of at least one thing, the important part is that you just enjoy that thing that you like and don't go on the internet and fight about it.

If you want something more specific then I would say any console or pc fanboys are what I hate most, simply because they seem to be the most common. Fanboys of games aren't nearly as bad because any argument they have is generally more structured. If you argue about a console then it seems you're more likely to start a flame war, whereas an argument about a game seems more likely to lead to a structured discussion about the pros and cons of that game.

Here's a summary of general beliefs of PC elitists straight from the Urban Dictionary:

1. Graphic Superiority of PCs over Consoles
2. Infinite Backwards compatibility
3. Mouse and Keyboard beat out Controllers
4. Believe that all Games are PC games since you can't program on a Console
5. Believe in User Generated content for games
6. Feel that DLC should be Free.
7. Think Xbox Live is filled with racist twelve year olds.
8. Know what Steam is and have never bought a game from Gamestop since.
9. Feel that FPS should never have went to console
10. Hate Consoles
All of those are true except 4 and 10. Besides, most of those things aren't even BAD things. How is that set of beliefs supposed to be insulting or demeaning if most of them are fact, or very logically founded? I really don't understand why you'd post that when bashing PC gamers. I just don't get it. Are you trying to insult them or show their snobbery by showing that they are right?
No they aren't. Because of two words. Personal preference. Except for 5, all of these "beliefs" are really just personal opinions/preferences being presented as facts.
Back when developers still cared about cross-platform multiplayer, a game called Halo was released on the Xbox and the PC. PC players could play against their friends on Xbox, and vica versa. And guess what happened? Regardless of individual FPS skill levels, the PC players consistently smoked the Xbox players because, like it or not, it is a fact that a mouse and keyboard are superior to a controller, especially for First-Person Shooters.

Even when I've tried using a mouselike console controller for MGS4, the game's expectation that I was using analog sticks made the mouse much less responsive (issues with max sensitivity, and the maximum rate at which the game let you turn and look). So yes, 2 and 9 are fact (if one rewrites 9 as "shooters are inferior on consoles and have led to an overall degradation in the FPS development process")

I think many console gamers see all PC gamers as fans or elitists, but this isnt strictly true. (i play PC / 360) You see it is a fact that PC is better than console in many ways. (im not gonna go listing everything as we have all seen them before)

What so many PC gamers hate is how the industry has changed this generation, with most AAA making games that are aimed for consoles, so instead of playing a true PC game what they are playing is a console game with better graphics. Many PC gamers hate this and have no broblem voicing their frustrations.

Many console gamers see this and automatically think its elitism or fandom when it isnt. Most PC gamers dont hate console gamers instead its the industry they are pissed at. It doesnt help that some console fans dont like PC gamers because they feel inferior to them and go out of their way to call the elist or troll them.
