Impossible Creatures. Its an oldie but a goodie.
You're awesome.

Me, I just tend to love RTS games in general. I love the Dawn of War series, and I want DoW II but I don't think my computer would play it.

I love Impossible Creatures (make your own units, fuck yeah!), as well as the Command and Conquer series.

I also really like Age of Empire: The Age of Kings, and its expansion The Conquerors, but...AoE 3 just didn't click with me, and I found it annoying.

High five! Once had a match in the Blackwood Forest map taking so long that the whole map was cleared of wood. And that map has a lot of wood.
O and Red Alert 2, that was golden.

I still enjoy Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, though I guess that's more turn based strategy than real-time.

Age of mythology. All of em. Age of empires the second. Starcraft and its expansions, and Warcraft 3. And impossible creatures which i still hold to this day is where the original idea for Spore came from.

Nice. Long haul, economic tactics were always my method of choice; I can imagine going that long and relying solely on market and relic gold...

I never tried it against a human opponent (because I only played against someone else, like, once), but I remember trying an anti-economy deforestation tactic. Sadly, my siege onager army was more productively used in destroying buildings, but it was worth a shot!

Starcraft, Dawn of War, C&C, World in Conflict, Homeworld (all three of 'em, but the first was the best) and most glorious of all- Company of Heroes. The Total War series are fun as well.

The Command And Conquer (CnC) series. Personally, I liked Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge the most. EA have just absolutely dropped in quality on RA3. CnC 3 was OK though.

Starcraft has always been Eh for me. I've never really liked it.

I really liked Ground Control 2. it was one of the few games that was great to play co-op and really pioneered the whole non base building thing.

"Fixed fortifications are monuments to the stupidity of man."

Sacrifice is not really an RTS but I don't know where it fits. An incredibly tactical squad level game where you play a wizard who summons really imaginative creatures. The most under rated game ever made. (There was a vote, you missed it)

Men of War is the first RTS I've got for a while and since playing it I've lost 10lbs. It's that intense

I don't play many RTSs, but the Dawn of War series is pretty damn good. Its nice to see a good game set in the Warhammer 40000 universe, and it also introduced one of my friends to the hobby.
