It's a futile effort to try to say which of these game is better than another, so in no particular order:

Valkyria Chronicles
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Tales of the Abyss
A Boy and His Blob (2009)

...crap, I can't think of a fifth one...

Well, fine, here's a more recent game: Batman: Arkham City

My top five played games this year are:

1) Saint's Row the Third. Between going for the Platinum Trophy/100 % completion 'badge' and playing with various online playmates, I ended up putting more time into this game than the previous game in the series despite the disparity of content between the two games. Then again, I couldn't make the main character into an Eastern European female version of King from Tekken in Saint's Row 2,so that might explain all of the additional playtime over SR2. The community contests also helped(two of which I won yet forfeited the prizes somehow).
While the game didn't demand that so many hours be put into it, I still put them in anyway, so yes, I had about as much fun as can be had in the game.

2)Dragon's Dogma. Even though I already have the Platinum Trophy, I still want to uncover all that there is to find in the game, obtain all equipment and max out both the protagonist and pawn alike. I also want to pick up that pointless expensive bauble obtainable only with Rift Crystals and that's going to take some major doing. If only I hadn't purchased most of the other customization options, I might have already gotten to 3,000,000 by now! There isn't any other action-rpg that I've enjoyed to this extent all year and that does indeed include Mass Effect 3.

3) Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Because it was there when no other major RPGs were slated for release at the time, plus there were those items unlocked by that demo that I wanted to try out.
The Achievements weren't too much of a chore to acquire, at that. Other than that, it didn't provide half of the fun of a pure action game or a turn-based rpg.

4)The Elder Scrolls 5:Skyrim. I already played it so much last year that there just wasn't as much left undone to do in-game this year. If I had bought it this year, it would likely be at #1.

5)Yakuza 4. The sad thing is that I won a copy of this game when it was a new release but I put off actually playing it until I played through my then current backlog. I wear the shirt that came with it on a regular basis, though, so I didn't disregard the entire package callously.

For whatever reason, it took until this year to try to play all the way through...and now, I'm getting sidetracked yet again with Dragon's Dogma, Dark Souls(I can only stand to play in short burst thanks to a combination of invasions and what might as well be a requirement to play co-op due to the rate of invasions in some areas. That's without accounting for the odd cheap death or two setting one back a bit. Too much patience required for too little pay-off.) and even Final Fantasy XIII and Hyper Dimension Neptunia(both of which I got around to playing only recently as well).

Mass Effect 3(somewhere over 200h)-I've spent a lot of time playing the multiplayer
Super Monday Night Combat(around 140h)-really got into the game for about a month still would play but I moved on to
Civilization 5(around 90h this year)-I started playing again in preparation for the expansion and now I'm playing the expansion and enjoying it as much as I did the first time around
Mass Effect 1 and 2(50-60 hours each)-played through them in preparation for 3 since I had lost my original Shepard to a hard drive failure
Its always hard to get a straight answer to a question like this but seeing as you have a similar length of time with ME2, I was wondering, how long did you spend on the singleplayer of Mass Effect 3? Was it anywhere near half the 200 total you spent?
I'm not sure exactly how long it took me to get through 3's story anymore, but I know it was shockingly less time than it took me for any of my playthoughs of 1 or 2. I'm thinking 3 took 25-30 hours as opposed to the 50-60 my trips through 1 and 2 took. I've only done one pass through ME3 so far and by the time I got through 3 I had basically been playing the ME games for 3 months straight and now I pretty much only do the weekend operations. At least three quarters of my time playing in total is multiplayer.
I've found that in terms of length it goes ME2 > ME3 > ME1.

ME1 is surprisingly short, there's only like five missions and for me, I've played ME1 probably two dozen times, I can beat the game in like 10-20 hours, whereas it takes me around 30 hours to beat ME3 although I've only beat it 3 times, so maybe I could lessen that with practice.

ME2 is quite clearly the longest as I cannot beat the game in less than a day or two.
It could be because I want to be thorough with the side missions but I think it usually takes me over 10 hours just to get off of the citadel. After you get off there there's 3 places to go and they each take a few hours each. Eventually a few other places open up each of those taking a few hours. I also end up with extra time added to my trips through the first game because I spend a lot of time driving the mako and looking for resources and items.

Hmm...let's see:

1. Gotham City Impostors
2. Minecraft (Even though I bought it for the xbox about a month and a half ago)
3. Assassin's Creed 2/ Metal Gear Solid 4
4. Dragon Age: Origins
5. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

I don't even have that many hours played on all of those but those are the ones I've played the most out of all my games, but just by a few hours. The sixth place would be a tie between FFXIII, God of War, The Orange Box/Portal 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Rockband 3, Ratchet and Clank and god knows what else.

Disgaea 3, PS Vita

All other pale in comparison for hours spent.
I see I'm not the only one. I need at least 400 more levels of grinding until I get Laharl. The wait is killing me. >.>

OT: Persona 4 - 128 hours in, still have another 40 to go to finish the second playthrough.
TF2 - Too much fun online. (78 hours as of now)
Obligatory Skyrim - Don't know how many hours, but it's starting to turn into a grind.
Pokemon: Silver - Found it for my color not too long ago. Started playing it again. Sweet memories...

Those are some sweet avatars you both got there. Just curious, but would you fellows want to join the Persona fan group?

We always try to keep the group up-to-date with all of the juicy news.

Think about it, k? :3
Already a regular in another Persona/SMT group in another site, but I'll join, it just means I wont be really active.

I see, thanks for the feedback.

Still gonna wait for the extended Cut to come out before I think about buying it anyway.

Hmmm...

Gears of War 3 - stopped playing as Epic just saturated it with DLC too quickly. Also got put off with maps far too big for 5 v 5. But have gotten back into it heavily. The multiplayer is still unique and addictive.

Borderlands GOTY- Trying to complete it & 100% it before the sequel comes out.

The Witcher - Eventually got put off with the slow start & first chapter (I hate the swamp). The awkward combat & lack of diveristy in NPCS (there are like 3). But came back wanting to complete it as I the story took an interesting twist and finally coming to the conclusion of the first chapter...I think.

Batman Arkham City - So glad for more story DLC as all I was doing was completing the riddler challenges for 100% completion.

Sonic Generations - Absolutely love this game. Colourful, fast, challenging and plenty to do. Played it for many hours & not even half way through.

1. DotA 2 - (690.4 hrs) As of January 1, 2012. No other game even comes close to this.
2. Beat Hazard - (115.1 hrs). I played this since last year but I've checked in now and again ever since.
3. Terraria - (106.1 hrs). So sad the updates have stopped.
4. Saint's Row The Third - (44.1 hrs). This is currently still on my playlist. Haven't finished all the DLC yet.
5. Bastion - (24.2 hrs). A little late on this one but curiosity got the best of me.

In no particular order:

1. Fallout 3 (went for the Platinum trophy--weep for me, I was working with the ps3 version of the game--now enjoying the mods on the pc version).
2. Portal
3. Assassin's Creed/Assassin's Creed II (Nice to look at. I'm playing it now only because I bought it, and I want to see how the story develops. The gameplay has not grabbed me)
4. Batman Arkham City (I inadvertently deleted my files when upgrading my ps3's harddrive. The fun part is I get to do it all over again!)
5. Tomb Raider Trilogy (she treats me so poorly and yet I come back for more)
