Kefka is just a poor man's Joker. Seriously, I never got the hype over him. Also, Shadow is angsty and super lame. Alright, moment of truth, I don't think FF6 is all THAT great. It's a good game, don't get me wrong, but I think people remember it FAR too nostalgically.

I also think that Square has not made a good Final Fantasy since 7, and a large part is terrible main characters and contrived, bull shit love stories. That's right- Squall, Zidane, Titus... all of them were awful.

Flower is the most enlightening, soulful game ever created. (I haven't played Shadow of the Colossus yet, btw)

I liked the second half of LA Noire better than the first, and I really liked Cole Phelps.

1) COD is very very very over rated

2) The Nintendo DS (All versions) are a complete rip off

3) All apple products are a complete rip off (iPhone 20th gen)

4) Nindendo WII and Kinnect are a waste of space

1. I dont give a damn about regenerating health

2. I like dark and gritty

3. cutscenes are not the devil (that is unless they are 5 hours long)

4. generally I think voicless is only ok if you can customize your charachter (yes there are exceptions)

5. the Wii has absolutly nothing to offer ASIDE from the obvious nintendo franchises (metroid prime 3 was amazing)

6. Red faction Gurrela is a good game

7. people who scoff at "dark gritty COD fanboys" in favour of more "colurful" titles can be JUST as obnoxious and annoying using eaquality stupid arguments

letting the tearing apart of people favorites begin
Unpopular among gamers or non-gamers?

If it's gamers then I think that games are essentially a giant waste of time and money.
Now don't get me wrong, like playing games, I was pretty hardcore in primary school. I do however acknowledge that in the end, all I'm getting from them is a lot less time and money.

If it's non-gamers then probably that games are NEVER the reason for violence and murder, unless the person doing it already has mental and/or psychological problems.

Games are far to preoccupied with power fantasies. Games need MECHANICS in the game play that arn't centered on being better capable of killing things.

1. I dont care for 2D fighting games like SF, Tekken and MVC.
2. All SSX games up until now has been good-great, even the Wii one.
3. Theres nothing wrong with playing fps-games on consoles. In fact I prefer it (Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 an exception to this).
4. First person platforming can be a fun thing, and it was awesome in Mirrors Edge.
5. The Wii has some superb and imaginative third party games.
6. I enjoy the fact that Wii doesnt have a achievements system (even though Im an achievement whore on steam and xbox live).
7. Theres been lots of really great James Bond games, like 007: Nightfire and 007: Everything or Nothing.
8. The original Xbox had lots of great games.
9. Red Steel was an alright game.
10. EA is alright.
11. Looting isnt that fun.
12. Quicksave and Quickload needs to go in favor of a checkpoint based savesystem.
13. The first Halo game was an imaginative title, with one of the best AIs ever.

Thats what I can think of atm.

Kane And Lynch 2 was an amazing game with good story telling, and decent ((and relatively realistic)) shooting mechanics.
It didnt hold your hand, and if your head, arms, or shoulders were sticking out of cover, they'd be shot. ((Like you do to the NPC's))
The ending may not have been amazing, but what do you expect to happen? Everything to go back to normal, they hug each other and become better people?
The world doesnt work that way. And thats what the story was trying to say. Everything goes horribly wrong, you barely get away with your life, and thats the end.
I liked the film grain effect, and thought that it, along with getting blown on your *** by a big hit, were great contributions to the game, that made if feel more gritty.
It was a raw, real game, that will never get its recognition because most people are to stuck in the, "Guns perfectly accurate, npc's always do the same thing, CoD/GoW/Uncharted perfect controls and graphics".

As far as im concerned, this game is as close to art as most games these days get.
And people hate me for it.

I'll make number 8 then. (No I haven't read the other posts for some reason O_O)

8: I hate Halo/CoD.

Don't know why, I just do... But I also dislike the colorfull Serious-sam stuff; Painkiller's okay though.

Planescape: Torment is barely even a game. It is however an excellent interactive novel, with a great setting and characters you can empathise with.

*Ack!* I'm SO sorry! This opinion is unpopular even with me. I love Torment, but there's no getting away from the fact that what little non-dialogue gameplay there is is poorly balanced, unintuitive and not fun.

Phew, just slagged off my favourite game. Where to go from here?

Golden Eye is not the greatest FPS ever made, and is nothing more to me than a glorified quick time event sequence.

EDIT: I also think Super Mario 64 is overrated, and I love Super Mario Sunshine.
