Same as most people, a friend of mine told me to go to Digg.com and watch a ZP video of Halo 3, few days after that I followed the video to this site and watched the rest of his videos. However I didn't start watching other videos and post in the forums until this past August.

Was given a link on a different site from Fat Man Spoon, and I now quote what he said to me:
"Go here. You like forums!"

It was through googling a game, it linked to a review, I lurked for a while, watched some videos and then decided to join up because I am a valuable asset to any online community.

Strangely enough, not Zero Punctuation.

I originally came for ZP, but had been looking for a good forum community to join for a long time. One day, I glanced at the message board and saw a couple threads and (initially) liked what I saw. For about a year I visited the site daily. I didn't have a very high post count because, unlike many people, I like to have well thought out posts that, if nothing else, at least contribute an original thought. Sadly, most of these go unnoticed because the popular way of having a discussion on the internet is to just ignore any points that counter your own...or flame them. A couple months ago I decided I needed a break from the Escapist. And as annoying as the new people are on a message board, it was the veterans that drove me away. (Not like anyone cares, but I digress). Admittedly, I have not been a member of many forums, but I have never seen a larger group of American-hating, elitist dickheads than I have seen on here. Immediately returning after my hiatus, I am reminded of why I left and will now do so again.

The only good things here are the mods and a few respectful members, and to them, I apologize.

Strangely enough, Yahtzee wasn't the most important factor for me. It wasn't even his sweet hat.

It's not a long story, but certainly too long and boring to be appropriate for anyone under or over any age. "I'd been linked to some article on The Escapist a year or two or something like that ago and it was awesome! ... blah blah blah." Eventually, after quite some time of just reading and watching stuff on the site, I evidently had some sort of a sudden pants-on-head retardedness episode and consequently did me some registerin'.
