Every single band and "Singer" in the 2000-2010 decade, inclusive. The whole lot of it is a bunch of horse manure.

With the possible exception of Green Day stuff, there hasn't been a good song put out since 1999.

Holy crap, a lot of my favorite bands are being mentioned by multiple people (The Beatles, System of a Down, Muse, etc.).

But in terms of bands I think are overrated, AC/DC and Metallica. Mainly because I don't really like the singers. But music IS subjective, after all...

Unless you've literally heard every song put out since 1999, it's not fair at all for you to say that.

And no, this isn't flaming, this is simply stating obvious fact.

A lot of those screamo bands, I mean there pretty brutal and all but it's all samey.
That David Guetta guy. He's treated like the greatest DJ on the planet but there's much better ones out there.
And finally Green Day. There good but people are a bit over the top with them. This view dos't help when most of my friends classify them as gods.
And Mozart! That guy is so overrated, he has what two, three good songs!

The Beatles. They're best band ever and one of my favorite bands, but not by as much as people say.
Totally agree with you on this, I love the Beatles and i admit what thet did changed music forever, but people realy hyped them up over the years.

OT: The Rolling Stones, i like a few of their songs, but i have read articles saying they were the best rock and roll band back in the 60s (for those of you who say The Beatles were, yes they are ONE of the best bands of all time, but they were not rock and roll, they were the forerunners of Pop) it made me scratch my head, they were not the best (imo The Who is the best..and ofcourse i have to say the beatles, because if i dont i will get stabbed)

As much as I LOVE Ozzy, he's gotten kind of overrated.

Nirvana.
Okay band, but they weren't 'The Beatles of the 90s'.

ACDC, Rolling Stones, KISS (Only because an earlier post reminded me).

What else... Rage against the machine, Metallica, a lot of metal, a lot of pop.

Okay, perhaps I was engaging in a slight bit of hyperbole. I don't HATE every song from the last decade, just the vast majority of them. In all seriousness, I think the '00 will go down in musical history as the worst decade ever. And that includes the 70s. It's what happens when music execs decide what we all get to listen to.

Oh, speaking of the 70s. Queen. Their songs were absurd. "I want to ride my bicycle". Really? Bohemian Rhapsody (I'm sure I mangled the spelling on that) was cool, the rest of their stuff is just silly.

Can you hear me raging across the country? :p I'll come find you, Marter, I swear.

OT: Stereos. I hate that band with a passion. They hardly qualify as a band in my books, considering the god-awful singing/auto tuned voice their lead singer has.

System Of a Down and U2 I don't hate them they just aren't the second coming of jesus like people say...
People consider System of a Down to be that good?

I mean, I can understand it with U2, they're good in their earlier days and they're very political, people like that kinda stuff. And I know SOAD is political as well but I just found them annoying.

OT....really any mainstream music is awful or at the very least overrated.

Metallica is the big one I'm thinking of

Others include Green Day, Linkin Park, just about any pop if not all...

System of a Down

Rage Against the Machine

Any band heavy-handed in political messages I've heard, really.

Weezer

U2

Avenged Sevenfold

Cannibal Corpse

Any band that has any amount of fans where the vocalist finds singing stupid, and instead opts to growl and screech.

Worst decades of musical history were the Dark Ages.

There is no beating that, so don't be melodramatic.

'00s is the era that I see as a transitional one. Between the old notions of rock and the new ones--ones starkly different. If you look at the music of the '60s you'll see the same--Acoustic guitar pieces complemented by walking bass lines and things reminiscent of the '50s. The acoustic guitars and whatnot that fueled the hippy, easy-going tunes that followed in the rest of the '60s and '70s with the swinging, walking lines that preceded them.
