"Seek the Fair Land" by Walter Macken.

About a Dad, his two kids moving from Drogheda to Galway during the Cromwellian transplantation of Ireland.

Great read. All Irish people should try it.

I'm alternating between Little, Big by John Crowley and The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin.

The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie. Surprisingly good

After that will be reading Heat Wave by "Richard Castle", a short little novel as a tie-in to the ABC show Castle. Havent seen the show much, but it has Nathan Fillion... so I'm willing to give it a try. Same goes for the book. Its pretty short though, so need to look for a book after that...

I just finished The Magicians, by Lev Grossman, which was kind of like a grown-up Harry Potter/Narnia (where actions have consequences and it isn't enough to be 'chosen' in some unspecified way). Now I'm reading Herbert Asbury's The Barbary Coast, which is a nonfiction account of San Francisco's underworld during and after the gold rush.

I've been working my way through John Grisham's entire collection, right now I'm on The Rainmaker.

At the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft

And from reading the preface, I learned that Lovecraft was apparently a HUGE racist and said he liked Hitler in print, in spite of the fact that he married a Jewish woman and had Jewish friends.

No. I am dead serious.

I was looking into getting that for a friend, any good?

I'm currently reading 'The Cole Protocol'. Its pretty good so far but just not to the same standard as 'Contact Harvest' or 'Ghosts of Onyx'.

Wait till you get to Fulgrim. Thats when shit gets real. Fantistic series, re reading now.

A thousand sons and redemption corps for me, doing a double re read. Good choice of book by the way, the first 2 and legion are pretty grindy at parts but it gets fantastic.

Two at this moment.

Dune Messiah, and The Lost, which is a Gaunt's Ghosts omnibus.
Gaunts ghosts is by far the best Dan Abnet series i have read, a close tie with ravenor in there somewhere. Yay 40k book fans. Is there a group for them here?

Third time re-reading 'The Founding' by Dan Abnett, before I lash out and buy 'The Lost'.
Do it. Seriously do it. Traitor general is the best book so far in my opinion as is only in death. It gets even darker in these books.

I'm probably just repeating hundreds of posts in this thread, but the Discworld series will keep you going for a very long time.

the maximum ride series by james patterson
I read the first four books of that series, but stopped when it turned into preachy humanitarian shit.

OT: Good Omens, a collaboration between Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
