the wheel of time series, although it would need a LOT of movies O.O
It would do better, I think, as a television series, similar to Game of Thrones. In the same regard, I would love to see a version of The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear. A movie would just be too short, and would botch it up.

A Discworld movie would be good, but the few hey have out now just did not do their respective novels the Justice they deserve. Perhaps the Tiffany Aching books would fare better (though I have not heard good things about a possible screenplay). I would love to see Good Omens done, though.

The Looking Glass Wars, great little reimagining of Alice in Wonderland but more violence. There is a sequel that I haven't gotten around to reading. Failing that, the actual Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series and not the crap they came up with a few years back.

Um, why is there not a Legend of Drizzt game yet? Or Gotrek and Felix for that matter. They're practically made to be video games! Also, I would play the shit out of a game set in Glen Cook's Black Company series. An RPG, maybe?
YES. HELL. YES. I'm reading Chronicles of the Black Company (The Black Company, Shadows Linger, The White Rose) right now and I am LOVING IT! Brilliant writer. The little feud between One-eye and Goblin is too funny. All in all, brilliant writing.

OT: Would make an incredible game. Would be much like Star Ocean; The Last Hope or something though, in that it would be VERY long

We need an Artemis Fowl movie.

Also, a game based on the Vlad Taltos series would be the most incredible thing ever. If you've read it you know why.

My heart leaps with joy to know that all of you Night Angel fans are out there! This turned into quite the Night Angel Discussion topic for awhile there...

We need more fans though! We need more people to read this amazing trilogy. I've read it a good 6 times. I can't wait to read #2 of the lightbringer series. Do we have any word on a release date?

Ender's Game
Bartimaeus Trilogy
Pendragon Series
Artemis Fowl series

These were amazing books that would make for even more amazing games and/or movies.

I want to see "Planet X" as a movie. Star Trek TNG + X-Men. Worf and Wolverine kicking ass together... /grin (Keep in mind the book came out BEFORE the first X-Men movie was announced so the reference of Xavier and Picard looking alike was a hilarious foreshadowing.)

Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve.
A story about a world where the cities are on wheels, which roam around, eating other cities for energy and resources.
All technology has been lost, so everyone is back to steam power and tiny fragments of "Old-Tech", which was recovered from the past.
I won't give anything more away, but it is very clever, and nicely imagined.
I love Reeve's writing style, which is very quick, to the point, and doesn't waste a word.

I figure it would work better as a movie. But with movies come "games of the movie", so it's highly likely it could be both.

Some of the more Esoteric detectives from the late Nineteenth century, those who rivalled Holmes such as Carnaki the Ghost hunter, if done by for example the team that just did the modern Holmes retelling this would be brilliant!

Or Elric, why has no one ever turned this into a film or TV series, the background and central characters are so rich it would make such a great film or indeed mini series!

Any thing at all by Robert Rankin! Or indeed Shaun Hutson, the man who created a hard as nails C.T.U agent ten years before Jack Bower and indeed His character makes Jack Bower look like Mary Poppins!

To be honest I would be willing to give any book adaptation a go as long as it is done with reverence to the source material!

And last but no least, the Illuminatus Trilogy, come on they made Atlas Shrugged into a film o why not this?
