"Cheap" is when:

A: something/someone uses a repetitive yet effective method to enable a quick, guaranteed victory, taking all the fun out of the game
The rest I disagree with, (With the exception of Grenades, but only when they are thrown randomly), but this I think is an accurate definition.
'Cheap' is a hard thing to pin down, because you have to ask yourself sometimes: Is it cheap, or do I suck?
But if it's a flaw in the game balance that people are exploiting that offers a near guarantee of victory, regardless of your own skill, then I would classify that as 'cheap'. As an example: People said the M16 in COD4 was cheap, but I would disagree. I've seen people do both amazingly well and amazingly bad with it. It's just skill. But the random grenades thrown over building and obstacles? That is cheap. A cheap kill brought on by sheer chance, not skill.

Cheap for me is anything that requires no or minimal input from the player to produce good results. For example the Farsight in perfect dark could be considered cheap considering its secondary function literally requires the player to wait. The same can be said of any special power in RTS games that simply requires you to select an area and watch everything in that area die with literally no risk to your own troops.

"cheap" can also be defined as "noob." anything that everyone knows is cheap and easy, but use it anyways. thats cheap.
You mean like the noob tube. Also the M1887 in MW2 is incredibly unbalanced. I saw a guy use it to kill some one with a single shot from, while not sniping distance, much farther than you should be able to with a shotgun. He barely even had the crosshair on his target (it was the winning kill cam. That's how I know where his crosshair was).

The TF2 Engineer. I mean it's just standing round next to a super gun with aimbot.

I just don't like playing him really. But demos are always ready to obliiterate him so it's all balanced.
Well, when you put it that way..

I usually think snipers in many games are cheap, mainly because they can kill you with one shot and little effort, no matter how far away they are. Especially if they brag about it.

Any form of cheating/abuse in multiplayer games. (including overuse of widely recognized unballanced tools/moves/weapons) Also, spawn camping and TKs on purpose.

As long as the game field is fair/level for all player, its skill and tactics that will make the difference in the end.

Exactly. Whoever designed that weapon should be fired from IW for being a retard. As much as i dont like them, noob tubes really arent as bad as they were in CoD4. I use them to kill campers, otherwise i forget its strapped to my M4.

Also, I enjoy using the difficult weapons, ya know, because no one else will. The underpowered Vector SMG and the stupid fast F2000 are 2 of my current favorites. Seriously, how many people do you see using those weapons consistantly?

That's true, I like how getting just barely touched by a grenade doesn't kill you anymore. I also know what you mean about using guns that no one else likes. In CoD4, my preferred smg was the skorpion.

Any version of Akuma I consider cheap, but only because he has a larger variety of moves than other characters, AND he can 'teleport'-ish.
He doesn't have many counters in most of the games he's in, but he is more balanced in Street fighter 4, (not as cheap as Seth and Gouken! ).
If I did a tournament I would ban him, along with the top teir out of SSBM, and Snake from Brawl.
I don't know what to think about this, it seems like a lot of people are finding Akuma to be the "cheapest" character in a fighting game, and you give a nod to Seth and Gouken, but I don't seem to have that problem. Maybe it's because Vega is my main, but I have never lost to any of those guys online, I tend to mop them up without thinking most of the time. The only characters that drive me nuts are the Sagat Faggots and the people who use Cammie.

James Cameron's Avatar is cheap. Enemies will spawn right behind you so they can pull down your pants and spank you.

Online the only thing I think is cheap is spawn camping. I don't know why the devs think it is a good idea to have designated spawn points. Make them random. At the very least make the spawnee invincible for a few seconds and completely nerf their weapons while invincible. There is nothing worse than just spawning in to die every second because you don't have enough time to turn around before taking a blast to the head.

In an online fighter anything goes. Sorry that is the way it is. You are there to win and have the same chances as the other guy. If it is not balanced in your opinion stop playing and find another game. Because in a fighter unbalanced = bad and no one should play bad games.

Just had 3 games in a row getting blasted by Akimbo 1887s.

I refuse to use them, even though it puts me at a disadvantage. I wouldn't feel right using them.

Should have known there'd be a game breaking weapon.
